Mat's Reel Repair might have the main gear for the 550SS. A quick call to Wisconsin might be worthwhile. I've always gotten great service and found parts nobody else had. Ward

Hi Dennis I picked up a Reel at a thrift store was a little tight , I took reel apart pull the main shaft out noticed it was a little snug coming out,serviced it , cleaned it up lubed ,straightened bail it was bent wouldn’t trip now it does , but I need a main shaft can’t find it or the right schematic it is a , pflueger ctrn3425 spinnin reel main shaft.

Have you checked for dried grease inside the pinion gear? That may be clogged as well and it could cause the issue you are describing - Dennis

I doubt the will happen as the demand is probably not sufficient to cover the costs....but it is a nice thought - Dennis
