- APPLE chief Tim Cook has revealed he uses “spatial computing” goggles every single day in an exclusive interview with The Sun.
We sat down with the tech titan to talk about the Apple Vision Pro headset as it finally launches in the UK - and he shared his favourite ways to use the premium headgear.
Apple unveiled the Vision Pro at its annual WWDC event in mid-2023.
In February, the hi-tech specs - which allow you to overlay (and even replace) the real world with apps and screens - went on sale in the US for $3,499.
Now it’s finally going global, bringing it to the heads and eyeballs of gadget-loving Brits with enough cash to afford its similarly lofty £3,499 price tag.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun for the UK launch, Tim revealed what a “spatial computer” actually is - and why it’s important for you, me and everyone else.

This is ONE HUNDRED percent factual, what an amazing gift from Apple. Steve would be proud.
People complain how expensive it is but in my opinion, its actually worth more than what they are charging. It’s an incredible piece of tech and the visuals and experience is incredible and next level. The immersive experience is so life like and real, it’s breathtaking. I’ve only had it for 2 days and I don’t want to take it off.
Worth more?... LOL
Meta Quest 3 is more or less as good for watching videos - and is broadly the better product.
@@Leto2ndAtreides Quest 3 is good value that sold at a loss for sure with higher fov but Apple did a lot better in UI and film quality
The screen resolution, and 3D effects are realistically awesome.
Redesign the durability of the headset materials, reduce weight and price, and it’s truly a hit.
Oh the classic INFOMERCIAL disguised as a news item. An oldie but a goody... . Vision Pro yours for only $3,500
Provided you can afford it, it becomes a question of whether or not you want it.
Meta Quest as good for watching shows though. Although, it won't have Apple integration.
@@Leto2ndAtreides I've never been a Apple tech fanboy. I'm not poor but I'm not spending my money on it.
I’m saving up for one. Really excited.
He sure talk the talk. Doesn't he even consider how comfortable to wear that more than 2 hours? I hear a lot complain about that. And what about motion sick people?
I could use Apple Vision Pro in my formal job. I monitor many different alarms with a multi-screen. With Apple Vision Pro, I could react to the alarms quickly with the new interface. I was in telecommunications.
Never were impressed of any technology before pc and that includes smartphones. AR/VR headset device is something that will get even better once it has more support and softwares even at its 2% potential, it already demonstrate that it can do something beyond what pc can do. Yes, I'm comparing it to a pc that people used in any offices or labs.
Apple will release a model half the price, will wait for that in 2025
Isn’t this the same interview Tim did with a Australian interviewer lmao 😂
Basically the same answers. He seems more energetic and sharp in this one thougu
Approve.
Love doing similar with Meta Quest.
It needs to be cheaper and lighter.
I swear this guy only watches Apple TV shows and doesn't care about Netflix nor Max.
7:20 oh no. Looks like Tim dont have a solution to the lack of content. The NBA app should be courtside, its way worse than what he is saying. Its lies!
This is just for promotions
00ok😊
Of course he uses them everyday.....dURRRRRR
You can use them too everyday to the bargain price of $3500....
awesome
First?
If they were $1500 I would cop a pair. For $3500, no thanks.
If it cost only $1,500 for the same capability then their flagship Iphones would be pointless. They need to sell their Iphones for those old school outdated peeps out there whom isn't adaptive to new technology
If you need the CEO to go down to the level of marketing n sales of pro vision, it means this product is not selling well.
He’s been doing this since before it sold its first pro. Its also selling just fine.
What's with the hate just because you don't even know the product? I used to hate VR until I bought Quest 2 and oh man this is next level stuff since the first commercial computer.
Iphone/Smartphone didn't really do much since is a hugely stripped down computer with call function for portability while even AR/VR standalone didn't sacrifice the potential of computing, it upgraded instead with more capabilities than anything pc can ever do. It just lack supports and softwares which is the only downside for now.
11:48 is bad too. Why come up with a buzz word when you cant easily say what it is...
We already have the real buzz word which is ai. AR/VR is hard to explain of how good it is. It is pretty much a device that even better than what the commercial video showed to you.
NO PICTURE OF HIM WITH ONE ON
there actually is one
There are many
My ex-friend Billy Nomates has one for watching movies on his own. Very sad.
Sales and users are racing to zero.
it s sickening
I miss StEve Jobs.
Stave was the best
I think you should go and meet him
Meta Quest 3 is much much much better for only £479 and gets updates and new updates every single month and it's the 1st commercial headset to feature all of these features he's talking about
lol Keep dreaming you havent even used a AVP
I own both and the Vision Pro is way, way better for media consumption. The quest 3’s screens are low enough resolution that you can see visible pixelation, which is really distracting when staring at something in a fixed position for an extended period of time, (isn’t as noticeable for gaming as you’re moving around a lot and not sitting stationary and staring at a screen).
The Vision Pro is the first headset where it is impossible to make out individual pixels (also known as screen door effect for VR) and imo is the first headset where media consumption/movie watching is a viable use case. Watching a movie on a 100 foot imax size screen really is amazing.
@@Symbiotix_Gamer Quest 3 is much better as it's more versatile, more things to do on it, and cheaper even if AVP excels for media.
This isnt true
@@hussain-x Quest 3 is great. They don't even earn profit with selling that thing but Vision Pro is on another level in media consumption and UI
It's like being in a cinema with a toaster-oven strapped to your head.
I don't care about immersive VR, it makes me nauseous and disorientated. As a replacement for screens they are amazing. so get it down to the size of a pair of sunglasses and we'll buy them.
Wonder if he’s paying his TV License
He’s such a liar.
Why can't people bring new powerful device to the market just because your brain can't handle it????
Apples biggest flop
only if you would love to wake up one day and your vision changes where you can only view through a narrow field and in 2d. i myself enjoy a big field of view and 3d depth, so Apple doing this is very exciting. it will take off once it's more affordable.
I used to be a VR/AR haters like you until I bought Quest 2 and actually tried it. The hatred inside me became the biggest fan of the device ever!
