Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. You guys have to make a podcast. I am so interested in how the club is run from the inside and why you guys make certain decisions. It would be a unique podcast in the podcast scene!
Its a shame most ePrem teams don't seem to be arsed. French and German teams seem to be taking it seriously and in turn their scenes are growing. Its been stale in the UK
Sounds like what happened in CSGO. The top teams (at the time) signed a contract that essentially guaranteed them their cut, regardless of how well they performed, and a portion of those just stopped giving a shit.
If EA made the deal with the prem that it sounds like, theyve basically guaranteed that itll be a shit league with minimal investment and a lack of competition.
Plus FIFA is absolutely crap for competitive play. Too many RNG factors compared to most other top esports.

Obviously disappointing that the direction of EAFC tournaments has created a massive barrier. But hashtag house will be an extremely exciting prospect and great to see 3 lads who bleed hashtag back where they belong. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for them 💙

I have not sent a message before but I have been following Hashtag since the start, and a podcast will be very good as it gets the fans more interactive with the club for ones who can't go to the games, and also to the ones who can't. Much love, keep it up, hope to be in English League Pyramid in a few years time.

Hashtag House could be a great connector between many assets of the influencer scene. Would be fire to bring some big names on there to shine some awareness on the channel and Hashtag itself. Gaming, Livestreams, IRL Content - I feel like the 3 can do it all!

This could be a blessing in disguise in a way. Looking at the larger esports market you're seeing huge organisations taking steps back financially. VC money coming into the scene has slowed down because the pipe dream these people were sold has yet to come to fruition. As it stands at least the Fifa/EA FC scene hasn't imploded like the Overwatch league but at some point these game publishers are going to have to realise that following the traditional sports model isn't what esports needs or wants.
Best of luck with whatever direction you decide to take it in the long term, you guys have been able to remain successful for a long time so I'm confident you'll recognise what works for you and what doesn't.

E-Sports has always been a joke IMO. It’s cool, but no matter the game it’s always been about exploiting mechanics. At the end of the day it’s a computer program with defined boundaries. 100 tanks are going to beat 100 planes which are going to beat 100 ships. Even something like rocket league, with all the freedom it’s game physics allows is still exploitable.

I’ll be completely honest, I know UA-cam doesn’t make a lot of money and I only really care about my own eSports scene..

If you do a podcast please do it on UA-cam . You don’t need fancy graphics or even editing but being able to see your faces speaking makes it a lot easier for me to digest information and this might be similar with others.

The Wheel of Futune, that would be a epic. You could make it a 3 way tournament and add section of the wheel where they could sabotage their opponents. Their highest rated player suspended for their next match.

What an absolutely horrendous decision from EA regarding qualification… pair that with the awful gameplay this year, can see there being a big downturn in interest in the pro scene across the board. Hashtag house and content creation is 100% the way forward

I'd love to see you guys branch out into different Esports. I understand Hashtag is and will always be cantered around football but I would cheer the hell out of a Rocket League team donning the tags colours for example.
