Review makes this game seem so aggravating, like it should've been on the scale of Type-Moon's Groundhog VN's (Hollow Ataraxia/Kagetsu Tohya). Was surprised by the 9/10 since the review referenced so many points where the title was excessively abridged.
I've played this game and i would say it's story looks a little mediocre to me , reasons why: - the protagonist look like a yugioh/beyblade protagonist who only thinks about his main hobby (treasure hunting), he repeats himself a lot always saying how much he loves treasure hunting and most of the narrative is around that, it gets annoying after a while - there's no real antagonist, the protagonists are mostly investigating a way to exit the loop or trying to cope with the boredom from always living the same day, there's almost no conflict, mystery or drama which are things i really like on VNs - it also tries to shift to a lot of genres (like mystery, suspense, adventure, tragic/nakige) in a story that's too short, because of that it never really succeeds on any of those genres and makes it feel mediocre at best I have to admit it has some heartwarming and fun scenes, and i liked the character design, but almost every other VN i played (and i played like 70 VNs) were more enjoyable than that, so for me it's an 4 out of 10
The lack of an antagonist shouldn't be seen as a negative thing in a story, as one isn't always needed to deliver a plot. You know the movie/book "The Martian"? About the astronaut that got stranded on Mars after a mission gone wrong, trying to survive on Mars alone, and NASA and everyone else effort back on earth's effort to save him? There isn't any antagonist there. If you really need to put that antagonist label, than Mars itself (or everything that can go wrong in a space mission) is the antagonist, which is not a character. The astronaut trying to figure out how to survive on Mars, and NASA trying to figure out how save him are the conflict and drama caused by Mars, similar with how a bunch of kids investigating a way to exit a certain loop and trying to cope with boredom are the conflict and drama caused by the said loop. So really, if we really need to point an antagonist here, then it is actually the loop, or rather the spell, the wish. It is the source of the conflict, mystery, and drama throughout the story.
It's unfortunate that it seems you deleted my comment where I share my opinion that I think you are very generous for japanese games as you give them very high scores even when you yourself indicate many flaws in the video reviews and the general consensus gives them much lower scores. I was never insulting you in any manner and I'm very disappointed that you have preferred censorship over having a discussion.

i want this on my ps5 right now 😭 .. thx guys
Isn't 9/10 too much considering you didn't think the story was that good?
The story was great. We just would have liked it to be longer to flesh out the cast. But the main narrative is awesome

We don’t delete comments so maybe YT did it?
