    Thank you. I was stumped about how to open the top of my washer; almost ever video out there shows someone sticking a puddy knife into some spring clips and voila. This really saved me a lot of time.

    Is there an alternative to the tub nut wrench tool?

    • @ammoalamo6485
      @ammoalamo6485 2 роки тому +1

      I hope you haven't waited a year for this tip. That Tub Nut has several indentations. If you have the perfect tool, it fits right into those indents and you can remove it just like the guy in the video. If you don't have that tool, you can still tap on those indents with a hammer and a tool, a little here, a little there, and it will come loose. Use a tool against the indents that will not destroy the nut, like a block of wood, and don't use something hard like a chisel. Some larger pipe wrenches and specialty pliers might fit that nut, but just taping on the indents using a hammer striking a block of wood should get it loose.

    I did as you requested. they did not have any information that helped. As I advised I have checked all drain hoses and pump. hoses a in good condition no kinks ware marks, the pump look brand new. took it to appliance parts depot in mesa az. they advise, it was in good working order. purchased a ney lid switch to replace the old one. still no change. On start up a clunking noise, agitator start immediately. Also on spin cycle tub will not drain completely

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  10 років тому

      TVR Gaming The agitator should not start until the tub gets to the right water level . Also If it is making noise in the agitate cycle, the gears in the transmission may be slipping or the agitator cam (or dog ears) may be worn out and slipping. It sounds like you may have more than one problem.

    There are brackets that look as if they are held by tension in the main unit through a hole on each side. I was wondering if I could just pull back with a flat screw driver to release the door. After I get it off, I will sand it, clean well, prime, then spray with appliance white paint. It would be a lot less prep if I could figure out how to safely pop the lid off.

      If you have 5 gallon bucket you can sit it on the floor next to rear of washer then take the hose out of drain pipe stick in bucket if water don't flow out within a few min something is probably clogging it. I've found paper towels napkins Kleenex gum wrappers ect well get into pump and hose clogging them up. But if water comes out that way and not when in drain pipe the pump might have failed also easy fix.

      You may need to soak the hub with penetrating oil to help loosen it up. The hubs will sometimes get corroded causing them to stick to the gear case shaft. Try tapping on the hub repeatedly. If you still cannot get it loose, you might have to break it off and replace it.

    Hello great video, I am opening my Whirpool machine, because white clothes will get dirty in the machine. I suspect collected debris from the inside mixed with powdered soap. I removed all the parts,but cant remove the inner tub, I added WD40 and will wait to try again.
    Also I noticed there is water below the Inner Tub, about 3-4 inches of water, would you know the cause of this.
    Thanks for your help.

    Mine died tonight, so I will be needing to open mine up tomorrow and take a look at what is wrong. The tub was in a rinse cycle and just died. It had been banging around, so I checked the load and then it refused to restart. It does not turn manually, so I suspect the suspension cable snapped on one of the corners.

    the wrench for this washer is a #TB123B . Right tool for the right job was like magic! Do yourself a favor, and just buy one if you are going to do this job. It ain't worth it trying to use a wrench.

    I couldn't get the tub nut off. Didn't have the tub nut wrench. Plus the tub nut in my washer seemed seized up. How else to get it out?

      Oh and one more thing. I have the very same washer in the vid and it makes a maddening wirring sound when spinning. It's really loud.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  8 років тому

      +suwadu moore You may need to purchase the spanner nut wrench to get the old one off. Noise during spin is often caused by a transmission or bearing depending on the model.

    • @MrGhettorian
      @MrGhettorian 8 років тому

      +RepairClinic.com you were right. My transmission was totally gone. The repairman came by to replace it and behold, the agitator refused to come out. It seemed fused to the drive shaft. And it has to come out in order for the transmission to be replaced. So now he's saying I may have to get a new washer. Smh

    I bought this exact washer used and need to replace the pads due to severe shaking, particularly with large loads. Could you tell me the model number? Whomever had it before painted over this info with appliance paint. Also, how do you remove the cabinet with this model? It seems very different than any other that I've owned.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  9 років тому

      The model of this washer is WTW4800XQ2. This model has suspension rods to support the tub. Make sure this is the correct style of washer before you order parts. Some of the models use parts that look similar but are not the same. You can also look at parts by using our website. Select Whirlpool as the brand name, then washer and then the part category to review available parts. If you know what part you need, you may be able to find it that way. Too bad the previous owner painted over the model number information; model numbers are very important to accurate parts ordering!

      @adambrewer6548 9 років тому

      ***** Thanks for the info! Yes, my model's tub is supported by four rods with springs at it's base. Would you suggest I try replacing the suspension springs before tackling the pads?

    • @adambrewer6548
      @adambrewer6548 9 років тому

      Josh Aguirre We had similar problems with a Maytag before this one. I will say that I replaced the suspension rods/springs in this Whirlpool and it runs like new now. $65 for parts and it's definitely an easy do it yourselfer.

    • @adambrewer6548
      @adambrewer6548 9 років тому

      Josh Aguirre Yes, but my noise was due to vibration and shaking. If my load was slightly off balance, it would shake/vibrate uncontrollably. Replacing the suspension stiffened the balancer and it spins perfectly now. If this sounds familiar, give it a try. If not, the noise you're hearing could be a bearing going bad.

    Can anyone help me with my problem? I have a Kenmore 80 series and it was not working properly. I first noticed my clothes were wetter than usual when unloading so I payed attention to a complete wash cycle to realize the only noticeable change was not starting the spin at a high speed it had to build up to reach maximum speed. Meanwhile washing still and just drying a bit longer till I figure it out. After a wk or so i was going to do a small load and I had filled with water and getting ready to add detergent I noticed it quit agitating too and since I didn’t add close I didn’t pay attention to whether it spun out at all or as it had prior. Since I had no idea what I was doing and wasn’t positive I figured I’d go ahead n change the clutch and the motor coupling. I did so put it all back together and turned it on- agitated fine when it got to the spin it spun out however it made an awful noise doing so- my question is what could I have done wrong or not got back properly in place to make a noise from hell - it really sounded bad but it did quit making that noise before it completed the cycle. I just feel like it is something I did or didn’t do and I don’t want to mess it up any further, I can not afford another right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated and my apologies if I don’t get back to anyone promptly I do not have internet service at my home so my time is limited.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  8 років тому

      +Dillon Skelnik If you have this style machine then it may not be spinning fast enough. The cause could be a number of things like a worn belt, out of balance issues, or a speed sensor problem.

    I have this same exact washer but my model # is W10338654A. I heard a loud scraping noise one day while I was washing a load of clothes. I stopped the load to see if it was off balance but everything seemed fine. I continued the load until complete dealing with the loud sound. The next day I wash a load of clothes this time no noises everything seemed normal until I opened my lid and my clothes is sitting at the bottom of my washer still drenched in water. My washer is only going on 4 years old. Could you please help me if you have ever dealt with this issue?

      +Angela Curbow If the washer did not drain the problem could be a defective drain pump or something clogging the hose or pump.

    Hello RepairClinic. I have a Whirlpool "he" washer, model num: WTW4950XW2... I've had it for almost 4 years. it's been running great but the last few months, it's been having a humming sound that has gotten louder as I used it. Last weekend I loaded my washer and press Start. It locked and started sensing. It seem like it wanted to turn but it couldn't. I heard a "click" then the lid unlocked, paused for a few secs, then locked again as usual. I heard a humm again but nothing happened. I check the belt on the motor but its not broke. I don't know what the problem is. HELP MEEEE! !!

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  8 років тому

      +Derrick Hester Sounds like there could be a problem with the motor itself in the washing machine.

      Thank you. ... 1 more question. Do I go get a new one or is there away to check to see if it is the motor. .. & if it is, do you'll have a video that shows how to take it out & install the new one. ?
