But what about light output without reflectors?
I love your setup and shots here, but if you put two lights head to head, and one focuses its light into a beam-like hotspot and the other has much less of a hotspot, that's going to affect readouts (but not actual light output)

Thanks for the comment. You're right. IMHO it affect both. The reason why I show it with softbox is because that's the most common use of them, not without any light modifier.
