    Probably the most underated fish in freshwater! Not only do they fight like a trout but are pretty dang tasty! Subscribed just on this video alone. Hope to see more adventures. Good video!👍

      Thanks bud…I’ve got several more Redfin videos on the channel and made some connections already for next season. With all the rain we have had here this summer, next summer should be great for Redfin!

      Red Fin Pike are not Boney. Jack Fish or Pickerel are Boney and get a lot Larger!

    I have never caught one before myself. They must not be in north Georgia. Thank you for sharing. And God bless you and your family....🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀

      I am not sure how far north they go, I do know they prefer hot slow moving water so they may no like it much up there!

    It has been decades since I caught and fried up gashed redfin pike. Probably the sweetest eating fish out of the Creek! Delicious! I'm an "Old Timer" but I have been told by old timers that you can take a piece of red cloth like flannel or hosiery material without a hook and catch them. Their sharp little teeth will get caught in the material and you can snatch them right out of the water.
    Great video! I've been a subscriber just under a year and thoroughly enjoy your videos! This video makes me want to drag my canoe to Penholloway Creek (that I live on) and try to catch some redfin pike. Oh, was that fish you called a government fish a sand perch. Kinda looks like a cross between a bream and a crappie! Keep up the great videos!

      Thanks, I have heard that cloth trick from at least 2-3 other people. May have to try it out! Thanks for checking out the channel!

      Just for your information, that cloth trick probably works, i never fished for redfin pickerel, they dont live in my country 😂😂 But here in Turkey, we use bright colored silk to catch needlefish, who also have small, needle like teeth. They have hard, bony jaws so silk sometimes works better than a hook. Also it's much easier to release them without any damage if you want. No snags as well.

    That sunfish was a Flier, the one you weren’t sure about. I swear they evolved from crappie to survive in more backwater type creeks and stuff.

    • @G2GO_outdoors
      @G2GO_outdoors  Рік тому +1

      I’ve honestly only fished for them down south however, I would wait til the dog days of summer in slow/shallow dark water and fish with red colored lures. They are extremely aggressive and sometimes in water only inches deep.
