    The Idea of the jobs having more meaningful impact with unique unlocks and skills to said job is a tremendously good idea. I hope you have tried to contact the devs personally about it via mail or social media. This idea cannot fade into oblivion, it’s too good.

    the long dark has a very good cooking system that is similar, not only most ingredients give more nourishment when used in them the game also has a vitamin system so that if all you ever eat are basic stuff you get scurvy this game could use something similar maybe your character gets sad and its functionally similar to it

    Gonna be honest, I wish the devs add new areas in portal worlds that are only accessible when we acquire new gadgets and tools like using the jetpack to reach tall places or using explosives to blow up locked doors. It makes exploring portal worlds more immersive and rewarding

    Not sure what you use to record audio but I recommend you should look up some tips for audio quality. I'll give some thoughts here
    1. Make sure you never peak or breathe too hard into your mic. Listen back to your recordings and re do ones where you make that mistake.
    2. Consider a program that has a "de-esser" it's a setting that will automatically make any "S" sounds you make more soft. S is really harsh in general so it should help with peaking issues too.
    Have a great day. 👍

    I went into this game completely blind. I actually think the story was the worst implemented part of the game. The tutorial was fun and funny, so I expected more dialogue throughout the game. I really like the suspense and learning around the world as you go, but neither my friend or I actually read the emails (sometimes for safety and making progress before enemy respawns).
    The story in summary is you start at a new facility which immediately starts some crisis and there's no easy way out. You move sector to sector trying different things to escape, and that's what the story can be summarized as. The voice dualogues were much better and interesting to listen to while not being forced for down times. It's not uncommon to not know what to do or where to go next.

    So far my building experiments in the mirror world have yielded interesting results. buildings like concreate bag walls can be stacked atop eachother up to a maximum of 5 with the 4th providing the maximum support limit. you can feasibly make small buildings from bag walls and carbon fiber or plank bridges. though id recommend using carbon bridges as they cover more space from wall to wall. you can even hang items on the support posts as long as the bridge is on a 3 wall stack. (you lose this with other bridges connecting from this bridge as it counts as a 5th obgect on the stack of objects.

    I have to agree with the furniture issues you mentioned. If you look at my base in the AF Server, I had to resort to exploiting the game engine to turn a Carbon Bridge into a Roof, and Bookshelves (oriented using a ramp and then disassembling said ramp) into stairs. But the biggest trial, was carpets. Oh boy has that been a peeve, besides having to constantly farm the Train for the nice wall lamps.
    God, the rooms are designed to make carpets infuriating. So many little plant pots, slight indents, or other decorations that make it so you cant place the carpets seemlessly against the walls, or forcing you to make carpets overlap and look messy.
    All I want is for Carpets to ignore wall geometry so you can actually properly carpet the floors of your base. Also Bridges. You cant place carpets or any floor decorations on bridges for some reason. I also want that fixed. And then finally, being able to also vertically rotate props to create more unique baracades or decorations, like seen around the Office Sector. And being able to Paint Carbon beds like the regular Makeshift beds. Why is that still not a thing?!!
    Also maybe having a upgrade or building you can place to transport resources between bases. I only have two bases (Plus the Hydroplant Apartments which are moreso just a place to vibe and experiment with new tech), but sometimes I find myself in need of like... Dark Essence, but my base doesnt have any. So I have to go visit my Tram Base to grab some of its 117 Dark Essence and bring it back to my main base so i can craft with it. Just little things like that.
    As for Combat, I never struggled with Adjustment. I saw it and Treated as a Stealth section, same as Canaan or Early Manufacting.
    I will admit, if you trigger an enemy its incredibly punishing since you cant just outrun all of China Convening on your location, especially in Canaan where they will constantly ring that blasted Bell.
    My main Difficulty Spike were the Security Robots. Those things are durable as hell, shoot way too many explosives per cycle, which bypass shield protection mind you, and windows to hit their weak spot are slim to none since you need to get up close to them, a enemy you need to be at range to dodge, as they are running away from you, with your only real solutions being either a Teammate, or spamming Slushie Bombs. And you are required to kill at least 3 of them to progress, more if you want the new upgrades and weapons. Also if you dont have the Security Pass they will seemingly target you from across the map and call in an Air Strike (It happened Twice to me. I was in Apartments and they shot rockets at me when I went out onto the Balcony with the man to Fish)
    I hated those things so much I actually had to turn down the difficulty to be able to fight them. No other enemy besides the Shield guys made me that infuriated (btw theyre impossible to kill if you have a laggy PC. You need to use grenades or stand on a wall and hit them from above. Or again, get a friend)

      @@ForgottenFafnir Agree on all of these , ESPECIALLY carpets.. omg 😭

    • @ForgottenFafnir
      @ForgottenFafnir 24 дні тому +3

      @proto.myriad Oh another Peeve with Carpets is that some buildings, LIKE THE CRAFTING BENCH ITSELF, cannot have Carpets placed under them, forcing you to package it, place down your carpets, and then try to stick the Crafting Bench exactly in the spot it belongs (which when you're making a compact base like mine, where everything is lined up pixel perfect without mods, yeah... I actually go into the game files and duplicate my save whenever I need to do that because I fear I'll not get the crafting bench back where it belongs).
      They also made the back of the display cabinets no longer solid, so you cant place wall props on them. I don't know why they did that but now there is a dark spot in my lounge area because of that. I hope they revert that change and add in the display option you mentioned, because that would be cool. And the ability to put books or magazines in bookshelves, not as a storage thing, just decoration, like how they are in Minecraft.

      definitely agree on the defense robots, they are basically minibosses if you don't kill them in the quickest way possible. should enemies I feel like are just bad design in my opinion and horrible for solo players. unless you have infinite bolts for the powered crossbow you are better off avoiding them

    The one thing I wish Abiotic Factor would add is making the zoom for guns actually use the iron sights. It feels awkward having to do this Fallout 3 style of aiming, and I want an option to be able to actually use the sights on the guns. At least the sniper lets you use the scope.
    This isn't necessarily needed, but I also wish parrying was a thing. I've been playing a lot of Grounded recently (love that game) and having a proper combat system in a survival game makes it so much more engaging. I don't like spamming my melee until the enemy is dead, as a lot of the time it feels braindead. Im honestly not sure how something like parrying would be added, and it would probably not work at all, though I really wish melee had more going for it rather than sneak attacks and spamming.

    • @notarobot1844
      @notarobot1844 19 днів тому

      for parrying you could use shields as a substitute since it barely has any delay between blocking and attacking

    Yet another banger- I definitely agree with the whole cooking section- we have all these yummy and nice things to make, especially late game, but there’s really just no reason to go out of your way to make any of them. Unless you’re a weirdo completionist like me-

    • @ForgottenFafnir
      @ForgottenFafnir 24 дні тому +2

      Literally besides one of each cooking pot effect, all I make are PLTs (They dont decay) and Salad Wraps (since you can get 4 of them with a single medium farm, enough to fully restore the hunger and thirst of 2 players).
      But the main issue is just the food decay. Why bother hoarding or gathering ingredients if theyre just going to go bad before you can even use them? Its better to just use something like Salad wraps which you can instantly harvest and throw on a plate to eat in an instant
      Besides the small buffs given to non-soups, I feel another easy fix is to just implement a 'taste' system, similar to the one in Metal Gear, where eating the same foods over and over causes your scientist to start to grow tired of it, getting less benefits from the meals and forcing you to diversify your menu.

    • @vimmier
      @vimmier 24 дні тому +1

      @ForgottenFafnir having had the same food for months before I can absolutely confirm food looses its taste after a while if you eat it constently. I like the Idea of a taste system if it was balanced decently and not too punishing

    • @ForgottenFafnir
      @ForgottenFafnir 24 дні тому

      @@vimmier I would say its a slow burn. Maybe after the 2nd in a row you start seeing a 5% decrease, which then becomes 10%, and so forth. Higher 'Tiers' of Foods, like those you make in an Oven, take longer to go stale to your tastebuds (because a Pie or Sandwich with their many ingredients both taste nicer and are more complex), further incentivising their creation.
      I'd probably have soups function completely separately on their own system, with the decrease triggering with every 2nd pot (pot = 2 portions) and decreasing with every subsiquent pot. Because otherwise you end up with people like me who have an entire table of Hearty Stews. I don't think you would lose the soup buffs themselves, just the hunger and thirst.
      For Food I think you would lose effects over time though.
