First Impressions Of Sydney | Our First Day In Australia
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- We spent our first day in Australia exploring Sydneys most well known landmarks. This is our first impressions of Sydney as we see the Harbour bridge, the Opera House and the botanical gardens. The skyline is an amazing sight to see but we recommend crossing the bridge and seeing it from the northern side of the waters. This is our first Sydney travel vlog and the first episode in our Australia Vlog series - Australia travel vlogs.

Hi Ash and Kels, I'm Dennis Daniels from Cleveland, Ohio! Thanks for sharing your video about your first day in Sydney, Australia!
Hi Dennis Daniels from Cleveland Ohio! We want to thank you for taking your time to watch our video! We really appreciate it 🥰
Even for a Sydneysider this is a perfect day! My dad was a trumpet player and worked at the Opera house for 17 years. It never gets old! We got married under a tree in the botanic Gardens. We caught a ferry to Manly and had our reception. It really is as perfect as it looks! Thanks for the great video guys.
You guys are super cute. What a marvelous open minded attitude you both have! Some people are easy to please and some people are hard to please - it's so lovely to see such positive people with a plan to enjoy yourselves. I hope (know) you have a wonderful time here. 🙂 Yes, you did find the best view of the harbour in the Botanic Gardens!! Spot on, haha.
Next time you are in Sydney take a ferry across to Manly, great views along the way and a lovely beach on the east side of the esplanade. Enjoy the rest of Australia.
The city of Sydney is just amazing ! My surprise is ha clean the city is ! Just beautiful
@@polska451 I grew up in Liverpool. The community has definitely come a long way. Thanks for visiting.
@@paulsz6194 Anywhere west of Sydney is wealthier and cleaner than Poland.
@@ALEXANDER-mx6dk how many times have you been to Poland??
I grew up in Sydney and now live in the country right on ocean.
Enjoy Sydney it is a wonderful city to enjoy with so much to do and see and there something for everyone.
You're lucky to get one of the few spells of decent weather in a year or more. Enjoy your stay and I hope the sunshine stays with you.
Super lucky! We heard there was loads of rain before we arrived
Ash and Kels, Sydney Opera House celebrating 50th anniversary this year!
You two are the loveliest couple, it’s really nice listening to you both making such nice comments about Sydney. I hope you both continue having a great holiday together.
Thank you for visiting our beautiful city! Enjoyed watching your wonderful video!
Thank you so much for watching! We love your city, it’s unlike anywhere we’ve been before 😍
@@AshandKels yeah yeah we don’t give a rats arse, just spend lots of money, if you aren’t sweating when you hand over the credit card, you aren’t spending enough
The Opera House, genius architecture. Lovely day U got. Very nice vid. I like the way U mix in the drone footage throughout. The music was chilled. One of the nicest travel vids I have watched. Will watch for your vids next time U come over
Thank you so much, we really appreciate it ☺️
Loved your video, as a Scot (and an Aussie citizen) it’s lovely to see you smiley and happy. And such great weather for you.
I've lived in the area for the past 35 years and Ive never been, I really should make an effort and go and see the Opera House and the bridge in person one day, they look spectacular on film.
Wow 35 years?! Its a lovely day out!
As an ex-Brit Australian - and Sydneysider to boot - it's quite wonderful to see myself in you when I first arrived!
This is such a good video, well done!!! I live in Sydney and still love going down to the harbour and checking out all the places you visited.
Welcome to Sydney, hope you have fun
so glad you loved Sydney! such an amazing place you have come to ;)
We really did love it! Exceeded our expectations, such a unique city 😍
Great video guys. I’ve lived in Sydney for 11 years now , I fell in love with it and couldn’t leave!
I think it's the biggest shit hole in Australia but that's just my opinion
@@James-kv6kb ok James thanks for your opinion. Every city has its unpleasant areas. I live about 30 minutes from the city. I love it. It’s what you make it I guess. It’s not for everyone.
Great video. Love seeing new arrivals reactions to Australia. I came backpacking here 20 years ago then ended up coming back and I’ve been living here for 10 years now. Great country enjoy
Same! Seeing the new arrivals stuff. I’ve lived here my whole life
At 1:00 they walked past one of the best breakfasts in Sydney. Down that little open air arcade behind them - it runs from King Street to the Pitt Street Mall. A great little cafe with brilliant breakfast.
Did we?! We’ll be sure to go back when we’re back in Sydney 😀
Fantastic to see you in Australia. We are hoping to see you travelling far and wide in Oz. Been following you since your adventures in Poland. My 11th visit to Poland coming up next year. My wife is Polish/ Australian. Enjoy Australia.
That’s what we hope to do ourselves! Poland will always have a special place in our hearts, we absolutely love it there! Hope you have a great time when you visit, have some pierogi for us 😃
There is a Polish cafe called Alchemy on Crown st in Surry Hills, and a Restaurant called Na Zdrowie in the inner city suburb of Glebe
They're not in Australia there in Sydney just another big city that doesn't represent the country whatsoever
@@James-kv6kb what city/ town are you in then, James ? Perhaps you could let them know here so they can visit the "real" Australia , or would you prefer they not visit?
@@paulsz6194 well if you must know I was born in Adelaide I've lived all over the country but I now live in a small country town in the South Australian outback . my point was there's so many wonderful things to see in every other state I don't think Sydney represents the rest of the country.
If Sydney's a chilled city, I'd hate to think how stressed and highly strung the rest of the world is! I've never found it chilled and relaxed . . . .. it was great though to see the enjoyment and delight as you both explored it. Makes us appreciate the places where we are really. To see them differently . . . . thank you!
Sydney resident here, I'll support that opinion
the northern beaches is very chilled... not so much the rest of Sydney
agree ...north via the beaches is way way cooler than Sydney... like your country so many imports has removed the real Aussie spirit ....but it lives , its every direction away from Sydney...
Everyone thinks the city they don’t live and work is chilled. Also depends what you do for work. I’ve travelled a fair few country’s and live in Sydney, also a tradie, based on my experience it’s so chill. So many people dislike Sydney who are from here but I find it hard to find reasons to hate it other than the traffic.
@@ssusggus I’ve lived in three capital cities in Australia. They were much more chill. Although one isn’t any more. Too many southerners now. In the other two cities if you smile and talk to anybody - we engage. You don’t get that in Sydney. Ever.
Pretty good timing, weather's been all sorts of upside down recently but you managed to find a solid but mild summers day which just makes it so much better.
We heard there was loads of rain before we arrived 😅
Best city in the world!
The Rocks is my favourite.
Glad you enjoyed Sydney.
Wonderful video, so relaxing! Love your attitude guys😄 sending warm winter greetings front Poznań, Poland😀
Thank you so much 😊
I’m an Aussie and live in Wollongong. I am having a few lazy days in Sydney this week. I have been in Sydney all of my life and never get bored by the scenery and buzz of the place. It’s great to see it through a newcomers eyes. Hope you got a ferry to anywhere.
I’ve travelled to lots of countries around the world but I’m always happy when I come home to Sydney, my home town.
You two are amazing. Such energy after that shocker flight. Top walking tour of Sydney. Great work.
Aussies are awesome! Really friendly and helpful! Sydney is beautiful with nice beaches!
" Nice " beaches ? They are the best in the world.
And NONE near a railway station! By design too unfortunately. Bondi is a nightmare to get to. Cronulla excluded, but that's over an hour from the city
@moderna spider you're Australia's toilet.
and so r canadians
Thank you for loving the CBD and the awesome harbour of my State Capital, Sydney. That view of The Bridge and the Opera House is Iconically beautiful! Spending an evening at the Opera House Bar is also something special visually speaking. with the city and harbour lights.
Sydney is one of my favourite cities (controversial view from a Melbourne resident!) Lots of natural beauty amongst suburbia, and generally friendly locals, even when they're busy. Public transport is decent and reasonably priced.
I am also from Melbourne and agree. I prefer to live in Melbourne but always love visiting Sydney
I am from Sydney and love Melbourne. There is nothing controversial in saying that up here. I don’t know why Melbourians think it’s controversial when it’s reversed. Both cities are amazing and different and it is this difference that needs to be embraced.
Idk why we debate them tbh. I’m from newcastle been to both I’m not bias to Sydney at all I’d probably prefer Melbourne because I worked in Sydney cbd so going there gives me work vibes 😂 Melbourne is unique alleyways full of food random things and yeah I loved Melbourne but Sydney would be just as good
@Summit313 I think Melbourne is probably more chaotic? Idk when I went there people everywhere lol and just as many weirdos there as in Sydney 😂
All I came across was thieving mongrels when I was there
I have noticed that many tourists seem to go to the front of the Opera House, but don’t walk around it to the other side. You get very good views of the Harbour from the other side. I also recommend doing a tour, which takes you inside the theatres.
Even better, if you can afford it, go to a show
Thank you for the video! Have an amazing day!
I love our harbour here in Sydney, such a picturesque place right at the CBD and for a busy city location it has a unique fresh smell
Unique was the one word we used to describe Sydney! Such an amazing city, we walked down the harbour a few times and it’s just incredible 😍 thanks for watching!
Always curious when hearing a visitor's view on what I now call home. Thanks for sharing your experience of Sydney, it really has a lot that we often overlook.
Welcome to Australia guys enjoy our beautiful city. hope you have a great adventure and our land keep you in awe and amazement
Oh you were in my hometown 😊 Lucky you to get one of the best weather this year. It’s been raining a lot recently.
Hello you two and welcome to Oz. I must say what a pleasant pair you appear to be. So nice to see how enthusiastic you are to take in the Sydney sites. What a lovely young lady you are Ashe.
Take a good look at the sky and when you go back home remember how clean blue the sky is here, not overcast and dull.
I miss you em c. Hope you had an awesome christmas. Stay really pretty.
We never really appreciate it until we see it through tourist’s eyes - thank you for sharing and I hope you enjoy your stay! You should check out our capital if you can - the Parliament House is stunning ❤
Well done - the east coast had crap weather for a large chunk of 'Spring' but you've nailed it. I grew up in Sydney but it has been a victim of its own success like so many modern cities. Thanks for the vid.
I think Sydney is the largest city in Australia!
I live in Sydney, you never get sick of it!
G’day! Welcome guys! Hope you enjoy your stay. You both deserve a lovely holiday.
Welcome 🤗 to Australia and welcome 🤗 to Sydney the best city in the world 🌍 enjoy your visit Merry Christmas 🎄 and a happy and safe New Year
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too 😀
Yes you just keep believing it's a greater city on earth the best thing about Sydney is the road out of there. Never met so many thieving mongrels in my life as I did in that city
welcome to Sydney - suggest you catch the ferry to Manly and explore the area. Great to see your positive attitude
Great video! Keep up the great work.🏆
Thank you, a nicely done video of Sydney, i hope you both enjoyed your stay in Oz 👍 nsw
Hahah the reference to finding nemo in this was Gold!
Next time ,have a good look around the Rocks and Darling harbour.
I looked around the rocks but all i saw were weeds.. next time i will go to stonehenge.. maybe there will be trees
So happy for you guys. Enjoy.
Awwww looks like you guys had a romantic time in Sydney !! You need to visit again one day
I think Sydney is one of the most beautiful and liveable cities in the world. Port Jackson has so much water frontage for so many homes, with so many views of the harbour.
It has two world class iconic structures in the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and the weather has to be about the best of any large city in the world. Not too hot, not too cold. Just Goldilocks - year round.
5m people, it's a world city in one of the best and safest countries in the world.
Go Sydney
We agree, it’s a beautiful city! We absolutely loved our day seeing the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge 😀
Sydney is miserable, grey, damp and cold in winter. I lived there for seven years.
@@xymonau2468 i totally agree. I lived there for 4 years. Incredibly difficult city to live in. The majority of Sydney is horrible. The culture not friendly. If you live on the harbour it’s just like the brochures, that’s reserved for a few. Drive out to the suburbs and it’s another world.
@@phil4977 I have lived in the burbs for 2 years and it’s so boring out here, living here and holidaying is totally different. To buy a house, settle down with kids and not have a 2 hour commute it’s impossible for 99% of us

This is a delightful video. It reminded me of how very lucky I am to live and work in Sydney. I was having dinner at Circular Quay earlier this week, with Scots friends on holiday. Such a privilege to sit and relax overlooking the Quay and the ferries with a glass of chilled wine and lovely food.
As locals we take both the Harbor Bridge and Opera House for granted but so glad you both loved it. The best harbour in the world! #harbourcity #sydney

G'day it's Steven from Down Under
Welcome to you both, I'm so glad you've enjoyed your visit, we're still a relatively young city and you may have noticed we're continuously growing with construction of major projects and buildings taking place everywhere.
As a Sydney Sydney sider, having lived at beachside Maroubra and Liverpool, yes I said Liverpool, which is about 20 kilometres south west of Sydney City and is Sydney's third largest CBD that is undergoing a major transformation, including a major international airport currently under construction which should be open in a couple of years, y'all may like to use that airport on your next visit too.
Take care now and why not do a taste test of our well known Aussie foods like Vegemite and Tim Tams and share your reactions?
I’m Sydney born and bred but this is one of nicest video’s I’ve ever seen, well done
I miss my city of Sydney so much, I may never get back there again. I became an aussie expat living in the cheap countries of the world and now I am old and poor........but hey, Ive had a wonderful life and wouldn't change it for quids.

Welcome to Australia. I hope you enjoy your stay here. Sydney is a great place to start out, but there's a lot more to Oz than that. I hope you get the opportunity to explore other parts of the country and enjoy this wonderful island.
Must have been a southerly blowing. Just wait for a 42+c day with 90% humidity, you will feel differently. BTW, welcome to Sydney. Ex-pat here too.
Could have been a southerly three weeks ago, there was snow down south about then. However, typically in Sydney in summer we get cooling north easterly sea breezes that usually kick in mid to late morning.
Could have been! Thank you so much 😀
