You two lads seem like a lot of fun, so happy to share our country with you. Have a great stay!
Thank you so much! 😊
Welcome to my home town. I love seeing it through visitors eyes
We loved Sydney!
As an Aussie who lived in Sydney for 20 years, I'm enjoying your first impressions. I don't live there now.
I know Sydney seems tropical to you, coming from the UK, but it's officially 'Warm Temperate'. To the south, Melbourne and Adelaide have a 'Mediteranian' climate. The 'Subtropical' zone begins in northern NSW & continues north to central Queensland & the Tropic of Capricorn crosses the coast at Rockhampton, north of which you really are in the tropics. Geography lesson over, enjoy your travels in our wonderful country.
Thank you so much!
Shut up
Hi Welsh girl in north of Melbourne. Don't you love Sydney's double decker trains. I do like Sydney, good city to walk around near the Opera house. I love that all the emigrants from UK and Ireland made us the brilliant country we are and it all started at The Rocks.
Hope you get to the blue mountains, they are worth a day trip.
Sydney, my city of birth and home for most of my life until 10 years ago. My Mum worked at Syd Opera House for over 20 years. I got lots of free tickets back then. Love seeing it all through happy tourists' eyes. Btw that white bird was a seagull. They hang around everyone's meals lol
Thank you for sharing your exploration of Sydney. It was quite interesting.
Virtually all normal trains in Sydney are double-deck. The light rail trains are much more like trams and are single-deck only.
The architecture around The Rocks is quite interesting, with a real mix of styles. That lovely honey coloured sandstone is endemic to the Sydney region and very sought after.
I loved seeing the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge up close and personal
I do love Sydney, although it's like Melbourne's big brash cousin. Awesome video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
At 3:12 that is an Old K Set train not that many left of them , popular in the 80'sand 90's after the demise of the Red Rattler looks like you got a nice cool day a bit later and you would have copped 40 c and burning sun in January
We loved the trains. Yes, November weather was much more to our liking, although it did hit 36C one day when we were in Melbourne.
I'm not entirely sure, but it looked like you were drinking middies of beer. A middy is typically 285mL, a schooner is 375mL and a pint is 585mL.
In NSW a schooner is 425 ml or 15 oz (a three-quarter pint). What we call a middy is a half pint (10 oz).
The bird is an Ibis, commonly known as a bin chicken.
Ummm No, not an Ibis. They are huge. That was a seagull!!!
@@Fiona-zc6oz The bird at 25:44 is an Australian white ibis.
why not walk it ?
We loved the trains.
@@ItsPaulAndMarcus fair enough :)
Should have got the tram/light rail instead of a heavy rail commuter train
We take both in later episodes!
Actually no they could have walked to the Opera House easily from where they were. They must have been at Town hall or thereabouts. But all good.
Sorry, I just had to laugh when you caught the train from T/Hall to C/Quay. It's like a 7 min walk LOL! Not a criticism, just funny!
We just loved those trains!
Yes I had to giggle too
Welcome to my city, pity you had to get on one of the old crap trains to circular key 😂, so glad you didn't choose Starbucks, they make awful stuff, Jump on the Metro it's newer and a much nicer train system, go to Barangaroo and take a look around.
We liked the old trains - we don't have double deckers in the UK so it was novelty. Watch out for a later episode when we do indeed take the Metro to Barangaroo! 🚇
Spelt Quay not key but same pronunciation
