Ananda Bhavan was a popular serial produced by Vikatan Televistas and aired on Sun TV. Ananda Bhavan portrays the story of a family which runs the hotel named “Ananda Bhavan”. The old-fashioned story theme of mother-in-law versus daughter-in-law, malice exchanges between the father and the eldest son-in-law, sisters-in-law who refuse to go to their in-laws place even after marriage. The character of the brother who is loving and caring towards his parents and wife are some of the back stories which form the crux of the story for this TV serial. Ananda Bhavan was aired at 9 PM on all weekdays on Sun TV. The cast of Anand Bhavan included Chetan, Delhi Kumar, Satchu, Vanaja, Anand and many more.

Serials of this time had realistic storylines without any dragging, excellent actors who can speak Tamil dialogues even without prompting, female actress looks like normal women and did not wear 500 KG of makeup, no unnecessary cringe romance scenes, no cringe action sequences. When I even see a small promo of today’s serials, I feel like vomiting. But before I accuse the TV channels, I want to beat the audience with slippers dipped in cow dung who are asking stupid romance sequences and idiotic storylines in serials with good looking people who can’t even lip sync in Tamil!
