    Stalingrad is that one topic that just is simply too much for one man to do ALL the work in a detailed manner. David Glantz has dedicated years just to finish HIS books. It's one thing to manually dig through sources to write a book, it's a whole new level to create an animated video with EVEN more digging.
    Personally speaking, the Stalingrad series should only be done bi-monthly as to give you more breathing room and cover more topics. You shouldn't crank a battlestorm video every week, let alone bi-weekly if the topic is detail-packed as Stalingrad.

      TIK is missing enormous opportunities, there are similarities, ideologies, analogies between Stalingrad and Bakhmut, as at present for many of us the Ukraine war has superseded WW2 though both have similarities. TIK is exceptional on political and economic topics because he understands it deeply but he avoids modern day, post 1945, we are living in 2023 TIK, history comes alive when highlighting errors from the past mankind hasn't learned. TIK's religious and general covering unproven theories are poor, he comes over as pretentious and obviously doesn't believe what he is talking about and I believe in a creator not evolution theory so he does sound like an idiot .. speaking of which 'the churchill is an idiot' video was poor when he is talking up decisions, even ideologies and situations of people like Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Hirohito maybe and numerous chancellor, economists and theologians so and so etc who may of been clever or misunderstood but in context were much bigger idiots than Churchill.

    • @MakeAllThingsBeautiful
      @MakeAllThingsBeautiful Рік тому

      sorry yes i am having a go but also i recognise some of TIK's videos are the best i have seen on youtube, the north african WW2, operation Market Garden and of course Stalingrad are exceptional though TIK's vids about German economics and reasoning behind Hitler and other influences behind WW2 and 1930's historical outcomes are superb maybe the best there is.
      TIK is obviously into evolution in every way, universe, social and probably political but i suggest he checks out 'Peace Can It Last?' a talk, posted on youtube from September 1942 discussing the times we live in now, Totalitarian v Liberalism and the United Nations (5 years before it was 'formed' [technically it was a resurrected League of Nations] which will take centre stage according to reliable explanations of bible sourced prophecies.

    • @Alex_Fahey
      @Alex_Fahey Рік тому

      @@MakeAllThingsBeautiful While I don't agree with all that you said there, I definitely agree that he is missing a lot of value by being strictly focused on the historical level in most of his content (the political and economic ones tend to be the only ones where he slips out of that frame of mind). Historians throughout the ages understood that history is valuable only for its impact on the present - in how it translates into non-fiction fables or strategic guides or... History must be connected to a message or it becomes as useless as knowing whether it was cloudy or sunny 37 days ago.
      For example, what exactly happened in WWII mainly matters in how it changes the message of the fables surrounding it. Was Hitler right to focus on the strategic goal of the Caucasus? Should he have been even more aggressive geopolitically or delayed attacking Poland until Stalin did? Should he have controlled his generals more? How do those answers change how Putin or Biden should control his forces in new or old conflict zones? How do they change how a business man should direct a strong-willed employee? The answers to those last two might change depending on what conclusions are drawn from extensive historical study which makes fully understanding the war important to this day and into the far future.

    I can't do the poll because Battlestrom series is the content I NEVER skip. This is the most unique documentary series I've seen and no other channel comes close to it. I also understand the colossal effort it is to make. I gladly would take long breaks between episodes. However, this series requires a team to process, it's just too big of a task for a single person.

      Battlestorm series, like Crusader, Courland and Market Garden, have already been outstanding and Stalingrad has taken it to another level. Most of us can imagine how demanding that particular subject has been and would fully sympathise with you taking it much more slowly from here on in, if that suits you. Honestly, though, I would not abandon it because it has the potential to be your defining work and, when you’re my age, you probably wont want it to be defined as ‘unfinished’. Please, Lewis, get professional help to get you and your work through this difficult period. Good luck and best wishes.

    The most important thing is that your workflow is sustainable and repeatable without you having to lower quality and rush content or drinking 47 cups of coffee and staying up all night to meet deadlines. We're all sticking around regardless of what the specific schedule is. The stalingrad series is the most in depth look at this subject, moreso than anything i have ever seen as a part of any curriculum. It is so well researched that the time required to research, script and produce each video must be ridiculously high. And this goes for your other content as well. I think any reasonable viewer accepts that and really appreciates that, so if videos are released further apart i think it is unnderstandable and wise in the long run, even if it doesn't help with numbers and the algorithm.

    Tik my honest opinion on this is that YOU need to be the one that decides what direction the channel should go down. We are viewers of all your content and the overwhelming majority of us enjoy whatever content you're willing to give us. Make this decision about you, and what you want to see from your channel. TIKHistory is your creation, your pride and joy so take it in whichever direction you want it to see, we will still be here to enjoy whatever content you produce because yes we're here for the history but many of us are here for you as well. Many of us simply enjoy your commentary, your in depth analysis and your take on historical events.
    I'm sorry things have come down to this and I hope you're able to deal with whatever problems are haunting you but don't feel as though you have to produce content every single week, we would much rather watch a video that we know you have put your all into, than rushed content which you yourself may not have the passion for.
    Don't lose yourself in the bump and grind of UA-cam, do what you think is best, you're a human not a content creating machine. Take the breaks you need, take the time you need we will all still be here when you return.

    Most important to me is the quality of your work, not the quantity. And I do appreciate how much time and effort you have to put into the research before even being able to put any video out. I like the way you keep referring to books and pointing out any discrepancies therein and comparing the content to make a logical conclusion about how things most likely went down. If there is any other history tuber out there who takes it to that level, well... that's not somebody I've heard about. So as far as I care, if the pressure of production gets too high, than by all means, take a step back, slow the pace of production down to whatever pace is workable for you. I'd much rather see the quality of your work being as consistent as we're all used to less times per time period than seeing you burning out or quitting all together. I've checked 'stalingrad' as preferred, but honestly your style is so good I don't care if it was about any other military historic topic.
    TL:DR Screw deadlines. Creating quality content like yours takes it's time. This is no frigging tiktok channel.

What has kept me coming back time and time again are your military videos - and my fondest memories are doing hour upon hour marathons of your African and Courland battlestorms. I've been excited for what campaigns you can battlestorm next after Stalingrad, but didn't even understand it would be such an undertaking. I do hope you can finish it, and I don't mind waiting until you're ready. Even if it is only a couple of videos per year in between your other stuff.

The history videos are what initially drew me in, but I think they should be more one-off kind of videos as I think your meticulous nature tends to bog down some topics such as the Stalingrad series. Dear TIK,
    I have to admit, I sometimes dont see eye to eye with you, especially when you are doing videos about politics. But I have followed your channel for a while now and I find your battlestorm videos absolutely excellent. The maps, timeline, the explanations, the background information what is going on elsewhere is really captivating. Your series about the african campaign is by far the most informative I have ever seen. I am german and grew up with a ton of bad documentaries and books about the desert-fox, so I found your portrait of Rommel absolutely fantastic. Not the white knight, not the absolute idiotic gambler, somewhere just in between. IMHO you did a hell of a job to paint a very differentiated picture of the man, with all his human flaws while still being one of the more competent leaders of the german army.
    Anyway.... I digress, IIRC you had to take a break before because you where exhausted a while back. You looked like a ghost at the time. I was watching your videos and secretly thought to myself, one day, we might find a notice on your channel, that you just simply dropped dead.
    As I said, I might not agree with you on a lot of political stuff, but for sure I dont want you to literally work yourself to death. You work hard to make a valid case and point, but I personally think, these ideologic/political topics are maybe too complex really to be addressed in the form of a YT channel. You really manage to bring a new (to me) point of view more often than not when explaining your opinion. BUT...and I think you might agree, that those videos are the most exhausting to make. Maybe not the videos themselves but all the backlash that you have to deal with afterwards, I cannot even imaging the reactions, comments etc. you have to deal with. God, the comment section here is bad enough. So, for the love of god and the sake of this channel, just stay away from the ideology, concentrate on the battlestorm series, and put in some other topics if you still find the time.
    Take a long vacation, preferably somewhere where there is no internet. As you are from Britain, try one of the channel Islands, maybe? I heard one of them has no streetlights, so you can just go out at night and watch the stars, almost like in ancient times. Anyway, rest up, get better and please keep yourself and this channel alive a little time longer.
