    I hate how people don't talk about periods. Boi, if periods didn't exist you literally wouldn't exist, none of us would. PERIODS ARE EVERYONE'S PROBLEM

    She should give them menstrual cups, they are more sustainable. Just give them one and they can use for years.

    • @starstar22rose
      @starstar22rose 7 років тому +59

      Nicole Tay that is a good idea but it's important to take into consideration that the woman might not have access to a place that they can clean their cup properly

      Emma Cleveland yeah good point they need sterilising every month

    • @poetgibson4853
      @poetgibson4853 7 років тому +7

      Emma Cleveland That's true but it's also better to have that than a sock. Not to mention it's likely that when they get say a tampon they keep it in way longer than recommended because they just cant afford another one. so a menstrual cup would be a slightly better alternative.

    • @lalehvontofu5860
      @lalehvontofu5860 7 років тому +17

      I think menstrual cups are impractical for that purpose. Try using a menstrual cup when you have no private bathroom, just access to public bathrooms with stalls and no sink in it.
      There's a charity in Africa that gives away "leak-proof" panties (with a plastic bottom) that have a mesh pocket you can fill with anything that will absorb blood (paper, tissue, grass, fabric scraps)and I think this is a really awesome and sustainable solution. Sure, you will have to empty and wash them but if every woman has a few of those they won't be dependant on tampons etc.

    I've always thought that if you receive benefits, like food stamps, you should be allowed to purchase necessary items, like sanitary products and diapers, with them. Having a box of whatever under your sink is something most of us take for granted

    Wow, she is literally an angel. ❤️ Women spends like half of their money on period products, bras and other girly things, i think it’s unfair that it is so expensive for just a pack of pads, like girls need that anyway.

    This really bothered me about ever being homeless. 😣 I don't like that people profit from something that females NEED.

    • @galaxycat7088
      @galaxycat7088 7 років тому +4

      mycrazeee People make profit off of everything we need, what do you even mean?
      .toilet paper
      .shelter
      .water bottles
      .food
      People need to make a loving sweet heart.

      except any homeless person can go into a building for shelter, drink from a water fountain or public sink, and get toilet paper from a public bathroom.

    Why don’t you have volunteers start to make cloth pads. They can be washed and reuse over and over again. No waste. Just wash in cold water with soap.

    Why didn't they say what the charity is and why wasn't it linked in the description? I can Google, but it seems like a strange omission given that the story is about the charity itself...

      no its dangerous. menstrual blood is full of chunks (mucas lining, tissues, etc) you dont want that on public areas. Period blood can become toxic too.
