- Justin Shearer will take the track as a professional drag racer for the first time at the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis in the J&A Service Pro Mod Class. He talked to the press prior to his first qualifying pass.

Good move, Chief. My first two cars were Pontiacs, and although they weren't as fast as yours, they still have a special place in my heart. Sponsors need to take a chance and back you, because it will be worth it. I wish you all the best, and am looking forward to see how fast your career is going at 60 feet and beyond.
Should get Discovery and it's sibling channels as sponsors, big media company that he already works with would be a great starting point!

He reminds me of the drag racers I grew up watching at the track while my uncle ran Top Alcohol funny car in the early 80s: grass roots racers who made the sport what it was.

would be great if NHRA woke up to spotlighting Pro-Mod racing... very,very limited TV access. I've been involved for 30 years in all forms of racing and pro-mod, 10.5 and outlaw racing is by far more popular with the majority.
I agree with you 100% they put nitro cars on a pedestal, but the grass roots and majority of fans love the door cars ( Prostock, promod, 10.5s, etc..)

the verry origin of NHRA was street racing . I set here watching NHRA for the first time in several years because of big chief,just to see a comerical that they(NHRA) probably made him do saying that it's absolutely wrong to race anywhere but on the track. what a load of crap. I can't believe that they would do that to him. always a crowmod fan .not sure I'm a NHRA fan.

he clearly said its a cast iron 455 block with stock timing cover and oil pan. Are you seriously trying to discredit him for having generic aftermarket aluminum heads when hes going against people with twice the cubic inches he is? He doesn't have a 2016 chevy either its easily 2010 or older. i think you are thinking of shauns truck

Absolutely NOT pay-per-view. Just cable, as they've always been.
Where do you get "pay per view"?? They are on one of the Fox channels every race and now they are almost always live! When they were on ESPN2 they were always a 3 hour delay and did not show qualifying most the time. Besides NBC airing the US Nationals a few times in the past you would never see NHRA one of the main four stations until Fox took over airing NHRA.
I stand corrected. I figured it was squirreled away on some back channel, since ESPN was cut out of the loop. I guess this will be touted as "small town boy hits it big" huh. A year ago NHRA was ready and willing to suspend Lutz' license because he was helping street racers. Screw NHRA
