The first 2 weeks were hardest, but I lost 10lbs so that encouraged me to continue, then a couple of months in and no more meds for hbp. Continued to lose an average of 3lbs/week until goal (111 lbs down). Hit a life crisis, turned to carbs and immediately blood pressure went up and so did weight. I returned to keto and weight started to leave again, blood pressure normalized, I bought veggies and then threw them out at the end of the week so I stopped veggies too. I’ve been carnivore for the past 1.5 years now. No meds, healed of chronic constipation, mitral valve prolapse no longer detected. 65 and feeling fine!
That's me. I loved keto for 2 yrs until a yr ago I can't stick to it I get so upset with myself. I felt so good keto I lost 50lb now I've gained half of it back. My addictions have come back in full force. I've been listening to Dr Westman and so many others but just keep messing up. I still start my day with intention of today's the day. Some days I do well but if I give in at all I'm done for that day cause I binge. I did get the book from the library it was fantastic
I think I'm able to effortlessly stick to keto because after 1.5 years I naturally and instinctively switched to carnivore. And if I have to once in a while cheat on the carnivore diet, I do it with keto foods. I don't even crave anything outside of the Keto approved foods. I can honestly say I can see myself eating this way forever.
it's a nice thing about trying carnivore for 30 or 60 days. Its limited food list actually expands later keto choices, or makes me feel like I have all the choices in the world. Also, reassures me that any day I don't feel like veg, I'm under no obligation to eat them. My health is optimal with or without them.
THIS! Carnivore makes it so easy. I don't even want junk anymore. Thinking of things like cake or cookies grosses me out because I know it's too sweet and won't make me feel good. It really made me change how I think of food and quit boredom eating (also because I always feel satiated and energetic!). Food is not entertainment. It's body care. It's like brushing your teeth.
Followed Dr Westman’s P4 for 20 months - for weight loss - now at goal weight of 58 kgs, but still follow low carb. I still omit bread, pasta, rice and junk/sweets/desserts! I weigh myself every morning - and still weigh/measure butter/cheese/cream as per P4.
Hey AMY, I love you and this video. I have been struggling. It took me awhile to become brave enough to listen to this video. This morning I got 'resolve' and jumped into listening to this video;. it is so empowering. I'm checking out the Phase 1 of End Your Carb Confusion and NOT worrying about quantity boundaries. Thank you so much. I'm saving this video as it is precious. ~ Paula
The longest i've done keto was only 2 weeks and quit. I want a testimony like everybody else who been on for 5, 10 15, years. I can hardly do 15 days. I'm go to go at it again and hopefully stick to it this time. I CAN DO THIS
@@christinemeers4858 You're right because I usually just go cold turkey and befor you know it, i just give up. I'll try and do things different this time. Thanks
I haven't been perfect, but off and on for 22 years. 2.5 years once, I was perfectly keto. Sometimes I move to "whole foods, nothing processed," instead. Occasionally I did fall off nearly to SAD, but the trick is to get back on keto ASAP. No "I'll start Monday." Just toss out the junk that instant, and get back on. Yes, you can do this!
Great video! My problem with sticking to keto is thinking I can survive having a cheat day or even a cheat meal. I have gone over six months strict keto and then had that one cheat and it triggered a downward spiral back into cheating all the time. I don’t know if this is healthy.
I have tried this way of eating so, so many times. I do think it is the correct way for me to eat but, damn it has been hard. Having said that I’m two weeks in and while I’m not losing weight (beyond the 5 pounds of water weight) I’m hopeful this time around. I will try the don’t hold back on the fats option. Thanks Amy.
7:45 For someone coming from a high-fiber low-fat meal plan, or a similarly restrictive type of eating, not only should they give themselves permission to eat extra fats in the beginning, but for those people it's possibly encouraged so that they can replenish much needed fat soluble vitamins. Plus, when first switching I think it probably helps to remind the body that fat is a viable fuel source.
I’ve never been able to restrict my intake on any diet. I eat as much extra fat as I want and my weight is fine. More importantly, my cravings are minimal
Thank you for giving us permission to not have to cut back totally immediately!!

Keto didn’t work for me until I learned how to make amazing salads. Home made dressings and full of meats and cheeses and veggies.
Agree! The best dressing - olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard and monk fruit sweetener!

Wonderful book it's worth it. Thanks Amy Jennifer 😊

Thank you for this common sense approach. Sometimes getting permission and having options helps.
I just bought 2 of your books and the atkins diet book. I am so glad he has meal plans. That is just what I need.
You rock Amy!!
BTW you look beautiful in that gorgeous fall color blouse.
😊 Thank you!

Amy herself has been keto/low carb for quite a number of years. As has Dr Westman and Casey Durango.

YES, YOU CAN! 😊
Such good content Amy. This is gold. Thanks for sharing these tips. I’m using these 🙏
Thank you! (And thanks for watching.)
Thanks, Amy

This video hit home! Currently rereading my book. Thank you!
Which book do you have
@@mbrennyb ~ most likely Dr. Eric C. Westman's and Amy's book : 'End Your Carb Confusion' 🥰
@@jujubunnybea Ok good I just order that book a few days ago. Thanks
Thank you! It was very helpful!
You look so pretty in that color, Amy!

Thank you Amy you are awesome !
Thank you !
Does the oil limitations include what you put in the pan for cooking, or just what you’re putting on you food?
Great content. Thanks for a shorter video. Many of your videos I want to watch. But I don't have an hour to watch one video.
I listen when preparing meal or washing dishes. Listen to half at a time is another option.
If it says Keto, it’s not.
If it has an ingredient list over 3 items, it's suspect!
#replay, thank you for this!

Orange is your color!

Are you related to Jeff Rolka?
Not that I know of. Why?
He's a singing teacher. You speak like siblings haha
I must be abit thick because I don't understand it. I've tried to many times. 😢
What don’t you understand? I’m happy to help if I can. Do you not understand keto in general? How it works?
