  • Just to nip the whole “haw haw Alfa reliability” thing in the bud, yes that’s a space saver wheel in some of the shots in this video. Just a puncture, that’s all…
    Anyway, the Mito is a car which aims to bring Alfa Romeo’s signature desirability and sports car pedigree to the supermini market, but while it’s certainly an extremely good looking thing, it’s never been quite the hit that Alfa would have liked.
    As a result, it’s been given a mild facelift last year along with its Giulietta sibling, with new looks, new trims and a new diesel engine. Does it finally deliver the goods in the way everyone wants it to?

    CAR KEYS COMPETITION TIME!
    First person to notice the spare wheel wins a biscuit!
    Oh wait..
    Listen, these things happen, guys. We only get press cars in for a VERY small window of time. We literally get one chance to film the review in this time frame and the show must go on, regardless. Come rain or shine, whether we're ill, or battling storms with silly names, and yes, EVEN if we have somehow managed to run over a nine inch nail in the middle of a shoot! It's either that, or no video!
    Peace and love,
    Sean - Car Keys Video Team

      Kind of hard to make comments on suspension ,tyre noise ,steering ,performance etc ,when yu have a space saver on ..So for all the cars "faults " I think the presenter has more ...Surely if you are giving a "professional judgement " and you are filming it ,it shouldn't be with a spacesaver..This review can't be taken seriously ..

    Buying an Alfa's not a rational decision, it's an emotional one. If you wanna be rational buy something else, but there's something about this brand that makes their cars unique.

    my mito is from 2009 and i can tell you all that you can buy every "mini" cars you want but none of them will look as good as an alfa in 10 years. No my mito is not 10 years its from 2009 but look how many years passed by and still looks better than a 2017 a1 or fiesta... it is what it is, an alfa, it may not be the most powerfull car but godamnit is fun to drive

    Boo! I love my MITO! :D This is for all the others like me !! single, young, fun and sporty who wants to fit their boyfriend in the passenger seat and have him proud to look good doing it too! Luggage in the backseat and the odd friends on a night out to dinner in the city. The boot is great for gym gear, weekend break luggage and swim equipment and the drive is just fun, get up close to the cockpit and very comfy for long drives - i drive approx. 3-6hrs every other week and use it every day for general commute sometimes up to 1hr. Never had a problem with backpain or anything. I love driving this thing! X Also, had my mito since it first was released and only just had to replace the tyres and headlight. Think that's pretty good going! GO MITO! MITO FOR LIFE haha x

    Mito is still fresh in what is now the dull as dishwater supermini segment. A VW Polo May be more sophisticated but no-one ever mentions it’s painfully dull inside and out and has zero soul whatsoever! It’s sophisticated transport and that is it. Nothing else interesting. The Mito has bags of character and always a delight to look at.

    Had my 1.4 Mito Lusso since new in 2011. Reliability very good. Only had one fault in 6 years - the power window regulator failed and was replaced under warranty and that's it. Running costs are decent. Show it a bit of TLC with an annual, thorough service and it will reward you.

  • @rolandofc9665
    @rolandofc9665 7 років тому +10

    Sure. Maybe it doesn't have the biggest screen or the best sound as the other competitors in the segment (Audi, Mini, Ford), but I can assure you, its competitors' drivers drools every time they see my MITO on the road.
    Besides, no one can deny the exclusiveness that Alfa Romeo offers. And the superminis are all about passion not rationality. And the MITO reflects the passion Alfa Romeo puts in every car they made. You want to be cool and tacky? There's the Minis. You want to feel unique? There's the Alfas.

    When will car reviewers stop banging on about infotainment screens and pocket storage! For god sake stop being lazy and review a car on its its use on a day to day basis. If you want storage buy a bigger car! Is this what a Good car boils down to these days. Perhaps the reason the handling was not up to what you expected "Car Keys UK" was because of the space saver. Reliability well I have owned two of these now both from new covering 120,000 mile between both cars and they have been super reliable never breaking down and cost very little to run free road TAX on the JTDM2 and £20 per year on the other. They are second hand cars only now having been discontinued but I recommend them all day. Im a driving Instructor and use them for teaching so they get a lot of abuse and stand up to it very well.

    Unfortunately there are bad car reviewers. This is one of them. He reviews a small car then complains about the lack of space. If you want space then buy a big car.
    There are certain people who happen to like and own these cars. They are not for everyone just like a vw beetle. He complains about the plastics used in the interior. That material happens to be strong and has longevity compared to cloth or even leather. Easier to clean also. Plastic happens to be an expensive material also.
    So my review of this car reviewer is that he falls into the bogus category sorry.
    He did the car a great disservice and probably insulted many potential buyers by driving it with a spare wheel. Did not even try to do a decent review of the car by getting the flat repaired.

  • @GlossaME

    I've got a Mito - a multiair turbo - and I love it as most owners do. Sure it's got its faults but I'd be more than happy if the motoring journalists gave it 0 out of 5 because they don't really understand what owner satisfaction really amounts to. They are probably quite right in what they say but they miss the whole point of what it means to love a car. Let's face it, there are no bad cars these days, just preferences, and they are purely subjective and the only really meaningful criteria for deciding what to drive.

    I own a 2012 1.6 diesel Mito (1.6 D now not available new). I really enjoy the car, although I agree that the ride is poor. It's got a strong engine, enjoyable to drive and very well equipped and practical compared to a Mini. My sister owns a Mini and having driven both I'd chose the Mito any day - comfier seats, more equipment, faster, not common and more practical.

  • @26Vincent26

    I have loved this car more than my (well, our household's) current Audi A1 1.4TFSI 122hp. Better value for money, and just a nicer car to be in of our, equally expensive A1. Only wished we had a stronger engine in the MiTo (we had the 1.4 78hp) and that the steering had more response but well, although it is a Fiat Punto, the Alfa Romeo is just more original to have among the Polo and Fiesta, for example.

  • @robertcamsell2972
    @robertcamsell2972 2 роки тому +2

    Why why why do reviewers always compare the Mito to the Fiesta, Polo et al. I`m sure people looking for an Alfa couldn`t give a flying fcuk how a Fiesta boot space compares.

    Btw I don't really like the Mito''s driving feel. It's not really "Alfa Romeo" 's driving feel, I don't know how to really explain that. It's more like driving a Fiat than and Alfa Romeo. Just that. :p
    Anyway, one last question: does it exist an LPG version of the Mito in the UK like it exist in Italy? Just curiosity, I don't really know if you use LPG too in the UK, but here they sold many Mito with that.

    The Fiat group badly need to renew its model and engine lineup, since even korean and french manufacturers have overtaken them in bounds and leaps. Even Alfa themselfes dont believe in the Mito, since it was announced years ago, it will not have a replacement, when its production cycle stop within the next year or so.
    The Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Fiat 500 X is sort of ok, and the 124 spider is cool. But its essentially just a Mazda MX5 and much more expensive than the original, so why buy the copy? Even the new Tipo is frankly a bit of a dissapointment, since its basically just a budget car made for developing market, and its not even that much cheaper than significantly more modern rivals like the Seat Leon or Hyundai i30.
    For now the only really attractive models from the Fiat group are Ferrari, if you can affor it, and the new Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio RWD models. I am happy, that they invested to develop those, but I cant help thinking, that it would have been better, if they had developed a new Punto and some new engines for their regular cars.
    This 1,25 liter diesel for instance has been around for almost 2 decades, its noise, it suffer from turbolag, and its fuel consumption is only average. And frankly the engine lineup has always let the Mito down. I mean: Who is buying an Alfa Romeo, because its slower and has a worse engine than a significantly cheaper french car?

  • @davidebonannini640
    @davidebonannini640 7 років тому

    It's a 10yrs old model, it has nothing to do with the new Alfa products and all they should do is retire it from market or it will spoil the new image the company is trying to build. Same thing for the Giulietta, still pretty but way too old.

    Drove one of these today and had to rush to watch reviews to check that they actually tell you how awful this car is.
    Literally nothing is good about this car other than the looks. The steering wheel is too big, the seats are shit, the gearbox is abysmal and feels like it's made out of plastic, the engine is horrendous (I drove the 0.9) and the clutch has no feel.
    I cannot stress enough how shit this car is. I've driven a 400,000 mile Vauxhall vectra through work and it was better than this.
    This car is dog shit.
