HVALA Paul !
Eastern Croatia - and its people - are fantastic, and they deserve so much more.
Thank You for sharing more of Eastern Croatia than just Vukovar. I am first generation, living in Wisconsin,U.S.A. my Dads family is from Vukovar. Very Proud of my Heritage. More proud of the people that defended Vukovar in the war! Even though I was born in Milwaukee, our Family kept our Croatian Heritage. Thanks to the great community of Croatians here! We have the oldest Soccer club in North America. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS .One day I would like to move to Croatia. If only I had enough money I would be there in a Heart Beat. Yes I am a little jealous of you but Very Happy your living in a Beautiful Country with Awesome Peoples!
Love eastern croatia
Paul you are one of rare people who is English speaking and say words with Lj and Nj the way Croatians say it
Haha thanks, but my accent sucks
@@PaulBradbury Accent is something that you get early in life so that is normal. But you can always mix English with Cronglish and some old Hvar(Dalmatian) words and sound like native who went outside and came back to Hvar after long life foreign land .
something like "Gren Šapiti u Stor" translated in English " I am going to shop in a store"
Beutifull video abot Slavonia btw
I’m sure it’s because he learned how to pronounce блять very early in life when he first arrived in Russia.
Now this is how you promote our country, you should have a weekly Tv show on the national television, well done Paul!
Haha, tx, will stick with youtube and tiktok
Poštovani Paul, hvala Vam za sve divne video priloge o Hrvatskoj. Često puta kažem da ste Vi napravili više za turizam u Hrvatskoj nego sve turističke zajednice zajedno.
Haha you are very kind
Thanks again, Paul. I've been visiting Croatia for 25 years now but your suggestions show me that I'm far away from having seen everything worth visiting.
You are welcome. I am still discovering after 20 years.
Well most people in Europe think about Croatia and her coast line , butt Croatia is not only sea and sun..
Great video Paul. Eastern Croatia is beautiful, but my hometown Osijek deserves to be praised also. Especially my former highschool, Gymnasium, which produced two Nobel prise winners Leopold Ružićka and Vladimir Prelog. Let us not forget Tvrđa, and National park Kopački Rit in Baranja. Happy for you to win court case against HTZ.
I am a huge fan of Osijek, both the city and the people. Here is our short guide to Osijek www.total-croatia.com/osijek/
@@PaulBradbury put it on UA-cam as well.

I am from Slavonija and i agree absolutly with you for me it is one of the most beautyfull country in World and full of culture and history. Thank you very much I enjoy watching it!! 💙👍😀
Great - lots more coming if you want to subscribe. You have a beautiful region in Slavonia
Thank you for talking about Slavonia, it is beautiful place and it deserves advertisement and visibility. I am from small town Valpovo and lived next to beautiful park and castle half my life. Unfortunately i moved to Zagreb for job but I am always happy to visit family there and just walk in peaceful clean air and nature.
Haha thanks. I could talk about Slavonia all day. Here is the trip we did in November 2021 www.total-croatia-news.com/editorial/58263-slavonia-full-of-life
Osijek,Požega,Slavonski Brod,Đakovo...every town have something special🇭🇷😎
Totally agree
Nova Gradiška is best!

Dear Paul, your videos are great, you know more about Croatia, that some Croatians does. I went to school in Požega. Now living in Germany, for about 30 years. Požega has this beautiful autumn Festival "Zlatne žice Slavonije", it is worth visiting. Take care, God bless and keep on making videos, we love your content!
The only problem about festivals in Slavonia is I can't see straight for a week after...
Thanks Paul my best regards to presenting my country, my town VU. And lot of beautiful places. 👍😉🙋♂️🇭🇷
My pleasure! What do you think of the Vukovar Card concept? ua-cam.com/video/j7Lmoc1eulo/v-deo.html
Paul, thank you for yet another great video! As a local from Osijek, I was particularly interested in your view of this part of Croatia.
Osijek is a great city. Love going there.
If you already haven't, I recommend you to come to Vinkovci in September during "Autumns of Vinkovci" (Vinkovačke jeseni). The place is packed and there's a lot of activities going on. One of the best and most fun times of the year to be in town.
Agreed, it is great. Here we are last year ua-cam.com/video/vPtuDL-88CE/v-deo.html
Thank you so much Paul for promoting Slavonija and Baranja. I would also recommend Papuk Nature and Geo park, Fera vino winery that is active since 1804. And also so many castles in Slavonija and Baranja :)
Yes, so many things. We are just starting and many videos to come if you want to subscribe
Man, you are amazing!! I am discovering my own country! Can not stop watching you!
Haha - why not subscribe and never miss a video
Come and visit Western Slavoniji: Nova Gradiska, Pozega, Brod
I have been several times, and I hope to do some videos about the region later in the year.
I am going there.
It is really great
Nisam očekivao mjesto u kojem sam odrastao da se pojavi na listi naime Bilje. Cool.
Bilje is a great place
hey, pal! Croat living in Canada here. Love your videos. I was born in Slavonski Brod. Thanks for letting the people know about the overlooked part of Croatia, Slavonia! P.S. Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic is from Vinkovci.
Pozdrav uz Dalja !
It is a very interesting place, and I loved sitting on the bench watching the Danube
Just love all yr videos: you are a ONE OFF: when l get to Croatia, l will look you up on Hvar.
Haha thanks, but I live in Zagreb these days
Hvala, predivno je to što radite. Sram me je reći da sam tek nekoliko puta u 55 godina života bila u Slavoniji, i to uvijek poslom. Dobila sam želju nakon ovog videa svakako otići kao turist. ❤
Lots more coming if you want to subscribe
Excellent video Paul, your knowledge about Croatia is amazing! I live in Zadar and I am mountain type of person so I totally neglected Slavonija and Baranja. Been there briefly very few times, so I didn't know about half of the things you mentioned here, thanks for the tips! Going there gives me that feeling of being a tourist and almost a stranger in my own country
Thank you! Well if you are a mountain person, I can understand why Slavonia is not top of your list, haha, but it is an incredible region. It is a pity that so few locals go there and discover it. It really is an amazing place with fantastic people.
Vukovar, I was born there on the banks of the Danube river. But we got outta dodge when I was 3 and hopped it to Australia, I would have been at just the right military age in 1990 to eat some lead if we had stayed.
What about Nature park Papuk that is the only Geo park in Croatia, Jankovac - beautiful forest park, hundreds of kilometers of hiking and bike roads on Psunj & Papuk, Lipik - one of the most beautiful picturesque small town in Croatia with famous State stud farm? Also, Iločki podrumi are the oldest, but best wines from Croatia come from Kutjevo region thet is also worth the visit. It's a shame you didn't mention Požeško-slavonska region at all that also had a lot to offer for more active tourism. This is the best of Osijek, Erdut & Baranja but NOT all Slavonija. Best regards Paul :)
Thanks for your comment. Kutjevo wines are great, but for me (even without the story), I prefer the wines of Ilok. We have many more videos to come and have already featured places like Djakovo. I am just giving my personal impressions. And no, this is not the best of Osijek ,Erdut and Baranja, as it includes Ilok, Vukovar, Otocki Virovi and Vinkovci.
@@PaulBradbury It's not about what you prefer but what really are best winemakers of Croatia. Im looking forward to see what have you done. Keep the good work :)
Thanks for the Video! My father is growing up in Slavonija in the village Subotički Lug near the Town Koška!
You are welcome. Slavonia is magical.
Thank you for your dedication, you always have excellent points of view and I agree with all the comments on your video, I would add with great respect that people in Croatia are very educated and that is their greatest wealth.
There is a lot more to say but hard to squeeze into 7 mins
@@PaulBradbury yes, thank you for work
Great video and thank you for that. Just one tiny remark: what you showed us here is Eastern Slavonia, Eastern Croatia is larger region.
Yes I know. One day you guys will figure out regional branding - eastern Croatia, Slavonia etc - what's it to be that you all agree on for the region?
@@PaulBradbury I see what you mean, and this was purely geographical remark, due to the fact that we (Western Slavonia) were completely left out of this video, so I wish the title was more specific. And regarding (regional or local) branding, oh, we are nowhere near that, if only we had proper national or regional tourist organisation to deal with that🤔.... Until then, we are sticking to traditional, geographic terms. Sorry, I'm just jealous, as you can see :))))😆😆
RESPECTED! THANK YOU FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DESCRIPTION OF MY HOMELAND! THERE ARE MANY, MANY MORE UNDISCOVERED TREASURES OUT THERE! DALJ IS MY BIRTHPLACE
Thank you! It is a great region.
It's a pity that you didn't come to Đakovo, which is the heart of Slavonia....
Oh but i did - have been several times - big fan of Loora. But am always wondering what is the second tallest building in Djakovo
Thanks for sharing 🙏 terimakasih 🙏 greeting from Indonesia 🇮🇩
You are welcome
Hello from Slavonia :)
A wonderful place to live
@@PaulBradbury It is and a bit underrated:) but many people left this region. I don't know i could never leave. Thanks for promoting it.
It does not surprise me that these places are largely overlooked. Tourists just do Zagreb or the coast / islands. I will try to check out some of these when I get chance.
I guarantee a great experience
I thoroughly enjoy you videos. Just for info though - at Ellis Island in written documents Tesla declared himself as Croatian
Interesting. Do you have a link to the doc or more info?
@@PaulBradbury it's not really true, Tesla's family are all ethnic Serbs (his dad was even a Serbian orthodox priest.) However, he was indeed born and raised in Croatia, but it is common even to this day for various Croatians citizens to recognise themselves as serbians due to their ancestry. But never mind that, really good video on a fascinating region of a breathtaking nation!
6.02 I thought it was "the King" now. You know, like Elvis.
Yes but this was recorded during our trip in November 2021
This guy knows more about my homeland that I do 😂
Haha well i have been fortunate enough to have travelled around it more than most
Wine, wine, museum, wine, museum, and more wine :D
And Vukovar and Romulic and Otoki Virovi and Vinkovci and more. Anything wrong with a glass of wine and a little cultural heritage in museums?
@@PaulBradbury I love museums, cultural heritage, etc. What I don't like is wine, hence my comment. I love the eastern part of Croatia, don't get me wrong, but Ican't stand the taste of wine so I couldn't care less for Ilocki podrumi and similar :)
Do something about Istra
It is on the list
Nice recap, sorry you didnt meantion Ilok and its wine production legacy.. its wine is servered at Royal wedding and ofc Osijek as regional center
Haha, i I told you I made a whole video dedicated to Ilocki Podrum, would you forgive me? ua-cam.com/video/NhFvlJ1Jm98/v-deo.html
@@PaulBradbury my bad.. hope you check out western Slavonia too, many history, also excelent wine production and amazing nature full of hills and forests that are even closer to zagreb
We have the best country in the world, we have the ideal climate, aboundence of water sources, the mountains of Lika, the Adriatic sea, the fruitful fields of Slavonia... We have the history noone talks about because of the eradication and brainwashing of the previous system(s) and the ignorance of the current government.
We forgot all that made us who we are today.
Luckily we occasionally have foreign people coming to Croatia to remind us of what they would be proud of if they were us. This relevation happened to most of the western european countries that were hit by the distructive war, so I guess it's our turn now. Thanks Paul.
There is a lot to celebrate here
Ono što je najbolje u Slavoniji i Baranji je njihova kuhinja sa znatnim utjecajem mađarske kuhinje. 😄
The food and wine are really great
Did you can make a video from Bosnia ?
Yes it is on the list
I think it's shame that foreign guy knows more about Croatia than people who lives here.
Haha well I am just curious, and there is a lot of interesting stuff that few report on
Someone need to add PIN on google maps about what is Paul talking about.
Ah, good idea, will try and do for future videos
Shouldn’t he be singing ‘God Save the King’?
Yes but this was recorded in November 2021
Did any of those outstanding things NOT include wine?😂
Yep, quite a few
British lyers😂😂😂
Opet fantastično
Thank you!
Hello, you write timestamp Vinkovi, but you should Vinkovci. Small typo. Enjoy!
Mario Romulić... I had no idea he was in Baranja, I thought he was in Africa,,
The hairy legend lives! facebook.com/opgmarioromulic
@@PaulBradbury :) Ty
Milutin Milankovic was NOT a Serbian. He was aCroatian born in Croatia with CROATIAN originies!
I see. Am curious why so few Croats know about him. Any idea?
@@PaulBradbury
Serbia and Serbians, because of 500 years slavery under the Ottomans have a big history hole,. This hole they try to fill stealing the history from neighbouring countries, Croatia and Montenegro. Mostly from Croatia. Many Croats, because of terror and censorship in ex Yugoslavia have fallen on this Serbian propaganda believing that Tesla and Milenkovic were Serbians. So many people in Croatia are still believing in this yugo and Serbian "history"! That is a very big problem in Croatia. Of course, there is much of ignorance too!
No,he was serbian from serbians parents,he was orthodox.
@@matejsb9069
He was orthodox of Karlovacka Eparsija, CROATIAN orthodox church! He was NOT an orthodox of Serbian orthodox church!
Slavonia was suffering the Serbian agression in the 90th and then had to survive the post communist political party called HDZ which did also very bad things to the economy and the people. Thanks God, thinks are now getting better and thanks to UE market the economy has more chances and opportunities to exist. Beautiful region, nice people, GOD bless them all.
