Alright, today's video brings to you the 49!
The 49 is operated by London United RATP using BYD DD 10.9m / Enviro 400 City EV's ( from route 94) & BYD D8UR-DD 10.9m / Enviro 400 City EV Vehicles. This route goes from White City, Shepherd's Bush, Holland Park, Kensington, South Kensington, Chelsea, Battersea & Clapham Junction. The route used to be operated by Abellio before September 2021, but RATP took it so yeah!
I'm happy to have done another route that crosses the River Thames; where the route actually got interesting. It is nice, but the route can get boring like in South Kensington, all the roads and buildings are the same and it felt like we were going all over the place for a very long time. In the end, I am sorry that it rained which was annoying, especially as we got into Battersea. In the end, the driver skipped the last stop where I was meant to get off at. I thought that I would get taken to the bus stands - (which can sometimes happen), but I was taken all the way back around again towards White City lol, which was nice of him lol as I needed to head back to Clapham Junction without me getting drenched. Idk if he forgot that I was on, but he was nice and he waved at the end!

49 and 295 are really similar routes and go to the same place don't see a point for both of them
Is Clapham junction is not in Clapham?
It is in Battersea,Wandsworth

The 49 & 295 are both similar routes. But they are unique in their own way and routings. I think 295 is better and far more useful than the 49.

Why are they getting rid of second gen Routemasters if there are still things like VWs lurking around near central London? It a bit stupid how Hybrids are going before diesels

According to TFL, The 28 is too expensive to run on electrics, hence the RATP loss to Metroline. I think it was the only solution in preventing the route from withdrawal.

It is because 1) electrics are more expensive to maintain and 2) TfL want to stagnate the process of new electrics so there is no overload of routes gaining electrics - so it's kinda like a step by step process.
