Great video, I finally played my anniversary game for the first time this weekend, it was brilliant! Side note: Every race were their own first slaves. White people enslaved white people before they ever met black people. Black people enslaved black people before they met Asian people. Asian people enslaved Asian people before they met white people . . . etc I'm English, so it might make me "feel" better to say stupid stuff like white people were the first slaves, but that's just because if where in the world and in history we're from. To someone from another country of a different colour, white people didn't exist yet they were already slaves. Same goes for everyone. Everyone enslaved and sold their own race to other members of their own race before we all met each other, realised we all enslaved our own race, and instead started selling to each other. If you think about it, it's insanely obvious. We all treated ourselves badly til we knew others even existed, then we treated them badly. The first slaves were human beings of every single race there is. Don't get caught in the stupidity racism thinking it's fact and patriotism, especially when you're a veteran who should understand the difference. Thank you for this video. I just collected my copy. It is awesome. I pretty much agree with your comments and assessments. 1. It’s too big for my flat, and most of the local venues. If I am going to play it it will be at conventions having given organisers a request for a big table. 2. I personally prefer to play with all the expansions but I get what you are saying about new players. If I get a set of players it would be essential to find out if they have played before. Also emphasise to anyone wanting to play that even with the base game this will take a while to play. If I had a set of experienced players this could be exhilarating and with the expansions, very PvP. 3. I almost always play with the ‘clearer skies, brighter days’? Option. Declare a burn. Roll 1d6 advance that many spaces before you have to flip. I think if you were playing as a scrapper you would prefer to stick with the usual method because you want to churn through the decks. This speeds up play quite significantly. 4. I have been accumulating figures from other games or funko pops and I put them on each supply planet that their card resides in. That way new players know where they are. 5. I really like the big notes but I find it easier to play with the originals. When you get to the stage that you are tackling the Niska jobs, or making Harrow-ammon Duul/Fanty & Mingo - Niska supply runs then the profits justify the big notes. 6. There seems to be disdain for the Walden. It is indeed slow and other than its cargo space has little to recommend it but I tend to take it so new players can fare better with the Fireflies. That way I still get to play but I am not going to stomp over new players. 7. That was a great video but I will have to think about how I pitch the game if new players turn up. I don’t want to start explaining the game and then see them checking their watch. 8. Once again, thanks for the video.

I know you're supposed to pick one setup card, but when I play we now use the 'roll 1d6 and move that many before you have to flip' as a base game option and pick another card too :) After a few games with the kids they hated how long it took to move anywhere and all the card drawing so we added this rule and it makes the game so much more fun and with less down time.
@@neilwalker4277 clearer days, brighter skies - I use that all the time. If I was running a Scrapper crew and needed the random encounters then I might ‘switch off’ the option but just for myself.
It took you two weeks or so to make the video it took me 3 days to watch it all. Well worth it thanks for going through it all and all the info. :) Also grunt style is way cooler ;p
Yeah I'm working on the wobble. I have a tripod which you can tell I use for all my A-roll and some of my B-roll, but it's the moving B-roll shots that all I have is a cage for my camera with a handle and my movement is sometimes shaky. The only options are using a lense that can mitigate shake, or buying a gimble, both of which are over a thousand dollars for a good one. Maybe one day if the channel does well then I'll be able to afford that.
I'll be making videos as often as my job, wife and kids allow! My goal was to do one a week but there's a lot to learn about cameras and video editing and I'm learning as I go, appreciate the sub!
I love the video. Your focus and attention and detail is outstanding. Since getting the addition I've been watching a ton of playthrough videos as well as guides and this is exactly what I was looking for. The big box itself can be a little intimidating, especially if people never played the base game or individual expansions. Some feedback: The intro had too many cuts/overlaps of music IMO. This does seem to lessen as the video continues, so that was nice. The meme's were a bit much, that's just a personal flavour though, some people love Meme's in videos, whatever works for you. Your volume and levels were on point, so well done there, but there were times I found the background music a little distracting. Overall, amazing video and thank you so much. Looking forward to more from this channel.

Amazing video, really appreciate the completeness and attention to detail, and your love of the show and the game comes through. My suggestion would be to break this video up into multiple videos, make it a video series, more people will watch the first few and maybe the strategy and wrap-up but it would be less intimidating than an almost 2h video.

Outstanding job! I absolutely love this board game! My husband and I initially bought it on a whim because we're huge fans of the show. It ended up sitting in our closet for a couple of years because it seemed really intimidating. However, when Covid hit, we finally got around to playing it and couldn't believe we had waited so long! For our wedding anniversary, we got the 10th Anniversary set, which was fantastic. It's an uncomplicated but complicated game, if that makes sense! It's both easy and challenging at the same time. I have a question: When playing with one or more expansions, how do you manage the cards? There are so many expansions now, and I try to keep everything separated. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Same here, I loved the show, had to get the game! I absolutely understand the "it's uncomplicated but complicated", it's simple to understand and it makes sense, but there's a lot of parts to the game which makes it seem intimidating. Then with all the expansions, it is quite epic but also so many possibilities and strategies, you never know what will happen. As far as card management, big table, tv trays if your table's not big enough. Also I have some broken token deck holders that have a top and bottom so it's easy for deck and discard piles. I like your focus on strategic planning. I have made sheets that show what is at each supply place based on key word cards and crew titles. I also made a page of the types of jobs and pay range for each of the dealers. This way if you want a pilot or a transport card you know where your best options are. I find that adding all of the expansions in except pirates and bounty hunters seems to work without many issues since they are just more options of the same rules and methods. I appreciate your analysis of the strategies and looks forward to your insight on other games. Good job.

Is that just the first step since they're easier to add and then you add the pirates expansion later since there's so many new changes? Or do you prefer never to use the pirate's expansion? Small correction: Niska's rule on the back of the card is regardless of if you are solid with him or not. It is a condition of his jobs. Being solid with him just lets you sell to him. I would need to open up my copy to double check, but I believe every contact with a benefit for being solid says "When solid with [contact]". One of the expansion contacts says he refuses to work with a crew that has Jayne on it. Again, a condition of the contact deck rather than a bonus for being solid.

I assume, your giveaways will be US only? I was always a big fan of the show and the movie, and it really is sad this got cancelled. The board games never really piqued my interest, but the anniversary box looks very appealing. I'm wondering if it is worth the high price, though. It will release in German this summer for about 220€. Or should I start small with the base game only + the pirates' expansion, someone selling for 50€ atm on FB. But if I get it now, I have to sell this first, before I can get the Anniversary box. But undecided, what would be the best move here. My group loves playing Twilight Imperium and this looks somewhat similar.
For right now, due to shipping costs. For me it's worth the high price for the anniversary edition, I'm very happy with it, it just depends on how much you and your group plan on playing and how bad you want it. It comes with extras you can't get in the expansions and it's all in one spot. That being said if you don't want to spend that much money, the base game is still a lot of fun on its own. And most feedback I've gotten is that people skip the Pirate's and bounties expansion due to so many new rules and go straight for the blue sun and kalidasa for the new contacts supply planets and boards. Since i had everything and all the expansions i just got the box with all the new items on the kickstarter. I do wish the they did something similar how the three suns cargo box did with organizational of the cards. Three suns big box helps free up table space in my opinion. I will keep that for that reason

I've played it Solo, which is incredible, and I'm not usually one to like solo games. I've also played it at 2, 3 and 4 players, and I think it played well at all of those player counts. But it definitely gets much longer for each extra player, I'd plan for an hour per player. But it's just as much fun at 4 players as it was at 3 or 2.
Excellent video ... Look forward to your success !! And regarding dress, be yourself, there's too much fluff out there already. Dress how you want for whatever day/video you're doing. If you feel like dressing up on special days for example, then great, that's you. I value integrity the most in this space.
