Legendary indeed. My favorite Creed. It’s not the most “wow” fragrance with depth and rich complexity and nuances but it’s my favorite in that it’s minimal, clean, and to the point. The king of all freshies. Less is more.

Hmm idk if I’d describe it as minimal. I agree that it’s a clean perfume but I actually think it’s quite nuanced as a fragrance though it may not smell like it bc those various notes can be very subtle.

Awesome re-review of this iconic gem. Truly evocative of spring and one that I enjoy wearing especially on long walks outside when the weather is crisp. Something I will be doing by myself now in light of our current circumstances. GIT will put a smile on my face

I just received a decant of this yesterday, and I am absolutely in love. This might be my absolute favorite scent of all time. At first spray, I wasn't sure - I wasn't immediately drawn to the introduction. I got the citrus first, and then immediately after, a lot of the "green" lush hills, and almost a moss scent. It was the dry down that swept me off my feet... I literally could not believe how good it smelled. It's absolutely stunning. It might be the first time I feel like a fragrance is truly how I've always wanted to smell. I do not think that this is dated; I do not think it smells like Cool Water - AT ALL - as I have seen some compare it too. Cool Water, to me, has a stark "blue" to it that I simply do not get with GIT. Cool Water is also (again, IMO) one of those fragrances that would seem dated in 2021. This may be a "men's" fragrance, but I'm wearing it minus the suit and tie - in January. :)

Hey Steven, fantastic video and you have yourself a new subscriber!:) love your take on all aspects of fragrances and a huge Creed fan myself. The creamy / buttery drydown on this is really amazing!! GIT and Aventus are definitely top of the pile for me personally ( I own both and use both year round in any situation ) and after spending the last 6 weeks sampling all male / unisex Creeds I would say these 2, Virgin island Water, Silver Mountain Water and Millesime Imperial are all bottle worthy. I do like the acqua line as well as the royal exclusives but unfortunately nothing really wowed me like these did

My first creed was Aventus it was ok I liked it. Then this June on my birthday my wife got me git and I'm in love with it. Pure love. It's gentle, elegant, fresh,calming, happy fragrance. Recently got SMW still trying to love it👍

GIT makes me think of strolling through a garden in the spring after a light rain. It’s clean, bright, grassy scent is amazing for spring and summer. Although, I do feel like this is one better suited to more formal events. Definitely has more of a mature vibe too so I think it’s better suited for guys in their 20s at the earliest.

I have a sample that I had since 2012 my wife use to work at these place where they sell expensive cologne an she bought me the aventus an par fun de marly Galloway she brought some samples an green Irish was one an the silver mountain was another they all smell wonderful great review 👍

Oddly enough, I've had a 50ml bottle of this sitting around for years, and I really haven't worn it since I got it! I really need to remedy that soon! It's still around 40° in Michigan, but hopefully it will warm up a bit soon! Great review as always brother!

I live in Michigan as well this seems like a good time to wear it I just blind bought it any hints to any other fragerances? I have original vetiver from creed also brooklyn from bond its green soapy and few others green fresh scents .

I have a suggestion! Could do a re -review of all creed fragrances based on the latest batch (bottle or sample of latest batch). Many people would very keen on listening to your opinion about the latest batches. It would be more helpful than the older reviews! This would mostly get a hell lot of views .

I have a 2017 batch of this one and it's so good ...and strong. It seems to get stronger and stronger as it ages. 2 sprays max for me. One of the all time greats!

I think it would be really helpful if instead of seasons, stating what temperatures it would work in. It's 10 degrees C here in the UK right now in December. It's about the same temp in spring give or take. Would this work now? Great video btw
I think it’s not always temperature but atmosphere. 8*C in April with bright sunshine, early spring flowers and green leaves budding would suit GIT more than 12*C in December when it’s dark with bare trees.

I've never been a fan of saying that a fragrance is only good or should be worn during a a certain season, I wear green Irish tweed all year round and it shines every time no matter what. But it is without a doubt in my opinion the best Creed out of the lot. Like the corn flakes of Kelloggs the original and best 🙂👍

Great video does fragrance.net sell the same authentic Creed green Irish Tweed on their site and not a fake.
They are legit.
To me, GIT smells GREAT from the atomizer. But off my skin, the violet leaf note reminds me of cat pee. Same with Narciso Rodriguez for Him, which also has a prominent violet leaf note. So unfortunately I can't really wear it.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the review. Keep up the good work, and stay safe.
Great Video. However, please note that Creed is a 100% French house, based out of Paris. It was started by a British family who moved to France several generations ago. The company headquarters is in Paris and all the fragrances are made in France.

Hey stephen recently made a trade on a reddit sub for a "vintage" batch of GIT. Seems to be much earthier then the brighter sample I fell in love with, almost like wet hey and at times almost a bit fecal. The herbaceous lemon verbena is still there but toned back. Is this normal?
Just ordered this from max aroma first purchase from the site so lets see if there legit also never smelled git before from all the reviews I saw on it I'm sure I will like it alot

Has Creed stopped manufacturing 4.2oz bottles of their fragrances? I've noticed on the creedboutique website it jumps from 3.3oz to the big flacon style bottles.

The batch I got at Costco wasn’t the best not so much pineapple in the aventus creed . I’m skeptical from ordering again at Costco. But I did return it. No questions asked.
I get it I'm one of the few who really dislike GIT , I tried so many times. If you noticed Alcott stores scent it gets inspiration from GIT. Why instead Jacob Cohen doesn't make a scent of it's amazing store scent ? I love that.
Stephen love Creed Irish Tweed. Some say that Bond no 9 Chez Bond smells exactly like Creed Irish Tweed. Thoughts?
The two are very close, but I wouldn't say they smell exactly alike!
To me chez bond has a sweeter smell to it and git is more rugged I have both and would go for git before chez bond
hello, i bought a flacon size 16.6 oz from fragrancenet the bottle was green and the letters on the bottle was all gold. never seen that sz in a 16.6 oz and the all green bottle with gold letters. please let me know is it authentic. green irish tweed

I got my first Creed from fragrancex (Aventus) and it does have the white gasket inside but no Creed on the top of the cap, and the batch number was on the bottom and it rubbed off. Is it real?? Thanks for your videos 👍

Steven, I have Cool Water. Since I have this, would GIT be much of a different experience? Or would average people (non fragrance heads) know the difference?
eXeL I’d say I have a normal nose, Ive only owned around 10 fragrances in my life. I will say I like wine so I have worked on my nose a bit but again, I’d say I’m normal.
I have owned Cool Water and currently own Green Irish Tweed. I think they are very different. Cool water is like sweet wet lavender and smells like what I remember of the 90’s. GIT is much more complex and smells completely different. I tried to not have to buy GIT by getting Cool Water, and popular clone Armaf Tres Nuit, but ultimately neither of them really smelled like GIT so I got that and only use it now. I think GIT is a very unique experience, and to me has no substitute.
It smells quite dry, starting with fresh cut dewy grass and Lemon and then moves to more like walking in a field, ending with woodiness. Usually I don’t think scents change with dry downs but this one has three distinct parts.
Note: Tres Nuit (mentioned earlier) smells like a sweet version of the middle heart notes of GIT. If you want something much much cheaper.
Daniel Rucker Thanks for your great comment! I love Creed. I’ve owned Aventus only to be pretty disappointed with longevity (not sure on the batch) and most people could barely smell it on me unless I asked them to. Virgin Island Water, however, is by far one of my favorite fragrances of all time (just ever so slightly behind YSL LNDL). I may have to give in and try to get my hands on a sample of GIT now!
I would personally say that Green Irish Tweed smells much different. I would certainly recommend sampling it!

Hi everyone! one question,when we smell directly from the botlle,what notes are we smelling?base notes? Thanks!
I'm not 100% sure, but it should be the top notes. they're the ones that you'll smell when you spray a fragrance at first.
The base notes show in the dry down. Thats usually quite some time after you've sprayed your fragrance. Dependending on the fragrance it's usually after one hour, sometimes after a few hours or even half an hour.
In between theres still the "middle". So basically there are 3 stages a fragrance goes through.
Very often fragrances have a really good opening (the top notes) so that you will buy it when you smell it in the store.
Thats why you should always spray it on your skin and check it every 30 mins because after an hour it changes. You'll also see how long it lasts etc.
Some fragrances barely change at all from the second you spray them until the drydown, but others can really change te character and have a fresh opening but a woody, dark, spicy drydown.
It's very important to know the drydown of a fragrance, because it's the "longest stage" of a scent. The opening usually lasts half an hour and the "mid" about 1-2hrs in average I'd say.
After that, it's the drydown you smell all day long!
