- Exciting day out on the tracks, we managed to get the winch trucks out and explore some new areas of the property to find some challenging terrain. The day was full of action with enough excitement to keep everyone entertained. Check it out

Guys have issues with clay. Have you guys thought about having winter chains on your tires. It works really good in the clay
Too many people would sook about running chains, plus it’s to much stuffing around to get them on and off and carry them around. That’s what a good winch set up is for

Do you guys in the winch trucks have to respool the winches much so they are like even on the spool or yas just let em sort itself out?
All depends on the previous winch, if you’ve done a side pull or spooled excess rope on loosely then yeah we reset it, if it’s all pulled on tight and pretty even then it’s fine!
In order to do all these wicked trips with a trailer crawler. How do you manage to find this? What do you do for a job lol ?
Its not easy haha I work my arse off every day, not as easy as it seems haha!

Not since a couple years back. I had an original one then I made this current one and it’s been the same for ages

Is winch smart? Does pick up the slack automatically? Does it feel when wheels are losing traction?
Nah the winches are all controlled by buttons on the dash.
@@DanielKistler It does not look like anybody is thinking about it. A manufacturing opportunity? There are people to supply all the components and designs as well as money. A smart winch would be good for towing also. I saw some people making controller chips for tag boats. For recovery it would be a smarter version of Yankum ropes.
@@eureka1512 good idea, would need a bit of thought put into it to make sure it’s possible, it is nice to have the feel of the button yourself as well.

It’s a stroked out 6 litre with an RE4 behind it, 3.9 diff gears with 23 percent reductions in the transfer case.
