Unpopular opinion, but Mars Volta would have more success if they have a cleaner live act (especially Cedric), with that said, the energy of Mars Volta's live performance is amazing.
I agree that cedric was not the best live, but he had the energy and they were amazing regardless, there's nothing like a live volta performance, especially in the Theodore era, cheers!

I've listened to this 5 or 6 times throughout this year, and I'm always surprised how small the number of views show, cause this really is that fucking good man, imo.

The band..phenomenal. The vocalist, about as good as could be expected, given the source material. It's really really hard to do his voice no matter your range.. the timbre is a huge part of it, and you can only do so much to attempt it. I mostly just love that they even tried. Fucking outstanding Also, that breakdown they added during cicatriz is just SO. DAMN. GOOD... and right in line with something TMV might do. Perfection
Man as much as I love Cedric, there's times Cedric can't even sound like Cedric. I've checked a handful of tmv covers and I think it's one of those deals like with led Zeppelin where it really just takes a woman to do her best to get a good result and this one feels pretty good so far. All around honestly, the entire band seems to jam pretty fucking hard. I'm a big fan of covers and tmv just hasn't been able to fill that void for me till seeing this.
Would love for a touring TMV cover band to hit the States. We have enough classic rock tributes, The Cure and Depeche Mode, etc tribues. TMV covers are needed and in fact is the only cover project I'd join if I could
This singer is a LOT more bearable to listen to than Cedric. Jesus sometimes I wish Cedric would just shut up especially during the live shows. Terribly pointless vocalist imo, really takes away from the amazing musicianship surrounding him. He had his moments though, like in Cassandra Gemini, but once again, if I listened to it too often his voice would turn into a sctaching chalkboard. Anyways sorry, amazing performance. Better than any Mars Volta performance that I've ever heard and it's hard to do that. My favourite era of TMV was the John Theodore days.. He was such a machine in live shows. And you guys blew that era out of hte water.
