  • A small DIY guide on replacing the bellows on a AL-Vista Camera. I did this on a 5B but the same steps can be used for an other AL-Vista.

Nice job, your choice of material is nice and flexible. Should be really easy when I change my bellows, thanks for sharing

The original Bellows leather was a thin opaque suede, and thicker material can cause changes in movement speed and banding. I think I got some a few years ago from talas. Saving the tacks makes a huge difference, as I've never found replacements. I cut down pins but they aren't quite as good. I've replaced a bunch of bellows at this point on everything from a baby al vista to a 7E. Nice video!

I talked to someone today about a goat skin suede. I’m still waiting to hear back as all they have atm is 1mm thick stuff. When I measured the original, it was right at about 0.5mm I’ll check out talas and see what they have. Yeah the same happed to me with the century view camera. I didn’t find anything similar online. I found some copper tacks but they wanted to sell me 5000 and it was a very high quote. Do you still have access to the 7E? I know someone with questions about it.
