Got a Worcester Greenstar 3si, not holding pressure. Keep topping up everyday, put air in vessel, and prv leaking when boiler is on, oh and water comes out of vessel, is it the vessel or prv at fault??? Thanks, feedback Welcome 👍
@@yensabi It's was the expansion in the end, no air in it, so let all pressure out of system, turn off boiler, pumped up expansion vessel to just below 1bar, top off with water, turn boiler on, ran heating, and all is ok, no more prv leaks. When I said water was coming out of vessel, it was just that one time it came out. Everything still ok. Thanks for the feedback.
@@stuartsinclair6269 check your prv is not letting by. You only have to isolate the return and flow pipes on the boiler. Drain the boiler itself and recharge the tank. Bubble the Schrader valve with dish soap to make sure it's not letting by and seated correctly. I hope you put some fresh inhibitor in the system. When you recharged it. You wouldn't drive your car without Antifreeze in the radiator, would you?
So, what was the expansion vessel pressure just after you had drained down/prior to recharging to 1 bar ? - there must have been something in it, would be useful to know to understand typical behaviour of a unit that hasn't failed...Thanks
Expansion vessel holding 1 bar of water plus 2 bar of water in the system brings it near on the release pressure of the prv. It's basically a neoprene membrane which expands and shrinks. When water boils it expands and creates steam. Hot water needs somewhere to go. In a stream engine excess water is blown out similar to a prv. If the hot steam had nowhere to go it would explode the heat engine. If there were no prv the boiler would blow.
A unit thaat has failed will pass water through the Schrader valve. Briefly press it, if water comes out replace the vessel. If air comes out, drain the boiler and recharge it. Simplz
That Thumping Music is both unnecessary and annoying yet the video explanation is very good, Who's idea was it to accompany this with such ridiculous banging music
Best video on expansion vessel so far. Bravo.
Great explanation
I have a customers cdi classic to look at with same issues ..
Zero pressure then goes up to 2.5 bar ...
To echo the last comment, very helpful video but turn off that irritating electronic noise throughout...
I do like your videos, very informative, but only one gripe, please don't fill 1/4 screen with 'needs training' watermark, very offputting.
Ok, thanks for the info. Appreciated 👍
Fantastic video.!! Can I ask where you got those grips from?
Good video
Great video 👍 where can I get one of those little pressure testers from ?? Looks really handy. Thanks

If water coming out of valve then vessel needs replacing and it's advisable to replace prv also......👍

How did you know it was the hose that was blocked? What was the pressure difference supposed to be on a system that's up to temperature?
Can you show how drain.boiler but step by step pls😊

Hello this happens on ours but no water comes out when draining it also fills very quickly 1bar within second
The music is good

Needs to find some other annoying music
Music is awful and completely unnecessary. Also did it solve the problem? The video doesn't show this?
the problem was a block expansion vessel hose
