The St Louis Car Company highliners man, I miss seeing them every day.
I can tell, your pfp is literally one of them 😭
The highliner 2's are an electric multiple unit variant of the galleries
Man, i love all the metra gallery cars even the Dinky
Remind me, what is CDTX 6961 doing on a Metra list?
Rather a vague explanation. Doesn't disambiguate the Budds built for CBQ, BN, MILW, and RTA too well. Nor the timeline between Morrison Knudsen/Amerail (because bankruptcy).
Are those new engines capable of a fast speed? In my opinion, they take on the shape of a freight train, which is not designed for speed.
The new ones go either 80 or 85. They are former freight engines rebuilt for passenger service.
The Amerail cab cars had K5LA’s back in the day but Metra decided to saw two of the bells off to make them glorified car horns aka K3LA’s!
Ngl I like the k3la more than k5la, but k5la is still 3rd so it's good
What about the Pullman cab cars and the Budd cab cars?!?!?
The Amtrak California Cab car was the Surfliner cab car by Alstom not the Amrail One
?
?
The budds have some of the best AC and Heating of all cars.
Budds car are rare
They aren't that rare on the bnsf line
They ain’t even rare lol, you see them everywhere
The 🥇 Highliner u showed was Bombardier & not Saint Louis
The highliner 1s were built by the St. Louis car company not bombardier
Bro I saw bnsf buds in Milwaukee west line
How do i know which one I’m on
The best way to know is window size. If they are massive, Nippom Sharyo/Amerail. If they are thin, Budd. If they are thin with paint, Pullman. If they have the BNSF logo, then BNSF Budd.
@@railroading is there anyway to tell nippon sharyo from amerail
@@Kynxs All Amerails are rebuilt and refurbished, the best way to identify them externally is from the large black rubber gangways, while most Nippons are unrebuilt and therefore have metal ones. Also, from the inside of the doorway to enter the railcar, there should be a plate that says Amerail and Rock Island Rehab program, if it is an Amerail. The plate is found near the doors closing light.
No you are sus
No you
@guest wat
BNSF buds suck
Yeah ngl they kinda do, they old, Metra did not keep any cab car variants, and they are technically different in many ways compared to the other cars.
@@railroadingno there are some cbq cab car examples left, they just have the cab windows plated over and the headlights removed. There's not many of them though
I agree with you, they are so boring@@Railroadfan5383
@@Nvideofilmsproductions I didn't say they were boring. It's nice that stupid old cars are still around, they're way better looking than the new stuff Metra is going to get
@@Railroadfan5383 I hope metra scrap these ass cars they are old
The Pullmans and Budd CB&Q cars suck! they are very boring
