HubraumTV you can put just about any fork with as much travel as you’d like on it. The travel is in the fork and doesn’t affect the frame. The only thing it will effect is the rake of the bike or geometry. Meaning the more travel the taller the fork, raising the front of the bike.
I have the exact same bike and I just removed a 20mm spacer in the fork to make it 120mm travel. I think it feels better, but really not a big difference.
judedaypalmer the Kahuna is better equipped as far as the components than the Mahuna. They both have the same frame but the components are different, namely the fork, drivetrain, and brakes.
judedaypalmer as far as jumping it just depends on what type of jumps and how often you’re jumping it I guess. If you are hitting extremely large jumps often I would go with a bike that has a through axle front and rear.
I’ve got the 2021 version and I kinda went for a dirt jumper/trail bike so I’m thinking of a air fork I do drops but I love jumps so I’m thinking of a 120 mm
I'm jealous. I had a 2012 Kahuna, and it was awesome. Got stolen two years ago. Had 10 x 3 ( 30 speed). I'm thinking of getting the 2021 Kahuna in that nice blue colour, 1 x 12 drivetrain. But don't pretend to be an expert. Is yours 1 x 11 or x 12??

Nice that sounds fun
Bring it in the trailer dude. Its still too nice to leave roofless and unprotected.
What is the size of the bike and how tall are you? I'm 178 cm and I don't know whether to buy size M or L?
Is the frame able or designed to fit more travel?
like a 120mm

@@norootsnoproblem yes that's what I meant. I don't want to change the geometry as much as it gets worse.

@@MrCornholiodagreat what fork did you have?
@@MrCornholiodagreat can you tell me how you did this, I'm really new to all this and have the 2022 version so hopefully I can do the same. Thank you.
Is this still a cross-country focused bike? Or its a bit more on the slack trail bike now?
I would say it’s a bit in between. It’s got a 68 degree head tube angle so not super slack or to steep. In my opinion I’d say it’s just right.
It more of a XC bike. Longer stem, long chainstays at 450mm. QR in the rear.. If u want trail bike go with Honzo.
@@Iggy52 what does QR mean ? Sorry im a beginner lol
@@norootsnoproblem It's Kona's flagship hardtail, as far as I know.
Can the seat go down a lot?
I have the 2021 version and I had to cut the seat post about 4 inches to be able to slam it so it cant
Whats the difference between Kahuna and Mahuna?
The Kahuna has upgraded components compared to the Mahuna. The only thing they share are the frame, handle bars, stem, seat and seat post.
What size frame is this dude?
It’s a medium frame.
Thank you man. Looking to purchase the 2021 Kona blast.
What’s that fender?
how does this bike compare to the mahuna and would it be ok to do jumps on it?

judedaypalmer thanks for the question and watching, hope I helped.
@@norootsnoproblem ok thank you, yes it was halpful and i enjoyed the video
I have the same bike! What do you think the best upgrade is for it?
I just installed the Tannus Armour in the tires and I’m impressed by it so far. It just depends on what kind of riding you do I suppose.
