I-Team: Douglas County judge slapped with second state complaint in first year of office

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Douglas County Probate Judge Christina Peterson must answer a second state complaint of wrongdoing.
She’s been in office less than a year.
This time Peterson faces allegations she put the public’s safety at risk for actions she took at the Douglas County Courthouse.
According to a complaint filed by the Judicial Qualifications Commission - the group that investigates judicial behavior in Georgia - Peterson violated security rules by letting civilians into the locked courthouse after hours.

Laws don't apply to her but they sure do for everyone else. A judge soliciting money and gifts on a public website but claims she didn't know it was public until she got called out on it. Imagine that pos handling your family's affairs. Her handling of the homeowners association lawsuit award is a good example of her ethical being.

@@dloren6183 My first high profile recollection of it was when O.J. Simpson played the race card during his first trial. It may have been before that that a Supreme Court Justice, when accused of sexual harassment, called it a high tech lynching.
She was clearly acting irresponsible with the wedding stunt and demanding a raise when her workload is less than others. I see a pattern of entitlement. Then, she throws out the race card instead of owning it. This is a good example of why people are SICK of hearing about racism. The people who are the quickest to call it out are most of the time the ones who are racist themselves.

Not really, she's all over the media. This kind of "legal" graft is usually well below the radar. Instead, she's rubbing everyone's nose in it. They shut down whole airports for this kind of security breach. Any possibility a weapon or contraband could have been stashed must be fully investigated. That means teams of people searching and testing the entire courthouse down to the drywall cracks. I'd wager the bill will be around $250K, twice that if the feds get involved (likely since it's on a drug corridor). It's amazing a credentialed judge with such a fat wallet has to hold a "free" wedding in a security zone. There are many wedding venues in that part of Georgia. I heard even Waffle House is in the wedding game! Was it all just to save a buck? That would just be so amazing. Are wealthy people really THAT greedy?

This is what happens when someone gets a position due to filling diversity quotas instead of merit. She seems more concerned with money than the actual carrying of justice. She should have her licences/certifications revoked and the people who interviewed her, looked at her resume and appointed her for the job should be fired as well.

Is this the same judge that people were jealous of her salary? Were the complaints made before or after people knew of her salary?
When it comes to her neighbors, how was she allowed to keep the monetary judgment in the lawsuit? Did the neighbors sign a contract when they hired her to represent them? She's wrong for not giving them anything.

She represented some homeowners against the HOA and won a judgment for them, but she kept all the money for herself, and gave none to her clients. That's stealing.
Attorney-client privilege only applies to attorneys, who must protect their clients -- attorneys can't discuss what their clients said in confidence, unless their clients allow them to release the info. She lied to confuse her clients into thinking they can't talk about what lies she told them. She lied, and misrepresented the law.
