I've noticed the pace of the music was a bit faster than the original. I remember Lea Salonga saying the musical was so difficult to sing becoz there were very high notes and very very low notes such that you'd go out of tune or flat or lose breathe if you don't have the proper training. Hard as it was, I still like the original pace of music.
miggy elizondo not only do I like the original pace of music (slower feels more romantic) but I also like the original lyrics in most of the songs better 😭 why did they switch it up in the first place? The musical was perfect. Still gorgeous either way though
Yeah, I like The Original Miss Saigon and The Original Keys Of the Song, It sounds more Romantic for "Sun Amd Moon" And "Last Night of The world" and More Feeling for "The Movie in My Mind" and "I'd Give my life for you", and also how Ms. Lea Salonga's Face In the Songs, she really feels it specially "I'd Give my life for you ",
I also thought this number was a little "rushed" (but still very well sung and performed!) having been used to listening to the original version for over 30 years!
The 18-year-old Eva Noblezada is extraordinarily vulnerable and touching as Kim, and her raw, deeply felt performance and soaring voice lend the show its heart. - Charles Spencer of The Telegraph to the haters, SHUT UP! teehee!
I don't understand why this song is often used to represent the musical. Don't get me wrong, I like this song, but I think there are so many better songs in this show.
Vincent Owens I saw him live in WICkED as Fiyero, and he was genuinely amazing. He managed to play a character a lot younger than himself and was so believable
*me, proud of Alistair for coming so far on broadway after so many years of les mis, respecting that he has moved on and plays the protagonist in a broadway show:* you go jean prouvaire!
Big mood. Also same with Killian tbh. *me, proud of all the roles Killian has played in Les Mis especially Valjean, and so proud of all he's done otherwise like Kinky Boots in theaters around the world, seeing him do literally anything*: Look at my moth child Combeferre look at him go
i love eva and this is great but.... am i the only one that feels like... its missing something..? like that light tingly sensation it gives your heart and stomach..
It's good they change the lyrics from the original "On the other side of the Earth, there's a place where life still has worth" which was quite offensive.
Mortimer Duke I think in the context of the war it was something that Chris would say though. It's not saying that human life doesn't have worth there, but the political and military regime of Vietnam didn't value human life. That's how I always interpreted it.
Mortimer Duke I think in the context of the war it was something that Chris would say though. It's not saying that human life doesn't have worth there, but the political and military regime of Vietnam didn't value human life. That's how I always interpreted it.
+Mortimer Duke well, the librettist actually changes his lyrics often, from early iterations to national tours, for various reasons, so it is difficult to determine why. a good example are the opening lyrics to Now That I've seen her, sung by Ellen. there are a few different versions out there.
Chris In a place that won't let us feel In a life where nothing seems real I have found you I have found you Kim In a world that's moving too fast In a world where nothing can last I will hold you I will hold you Chris Our lives will change, when tomorrow comes Kim Tonight our hearts drown the distant drums Chris And we have music all right Tearing the night The song Played on a solo saxophone A crazy sound Kim A lonely sound Both A cry that tells us love goes on and on Played on a solo saxophone It's telling me To hold you tight And dance like it's the last night of the world Chris On the other side of the earth There's a place where life still has worth I will take you Kim I'll go with you Chris You won't believe all the things you'll see I know 'cause you'll see them all with me Both If we're together that's when We'll hear it again The song Played on a solo saxophone A crazy sound A lonely sound A cry that tells us love goes on and on Played on a solo saxophone It's telling me To hold you tight And dance like it's the last night of the world Kim Dreams Were all I ever knew Chris Dreams You won't need when I'm through Both Anywhere We may be I will sing with you Our song. .. Both So stay with me And hold me tight And dance Like it's the last night of the world
they're very good but the original is really the best not only because they're original but if they're that age again and audition for this they will get these roles again..that's how good they were just watch it again if you dot believe me Lea salonga and Simon bowman
I read somewhere before, i think it was in Newsweek or Asiaweek when they featured Miss Saigon and it said there that Monique is the better actress and Lea is the better singer. Objectively, hearing and watching Eva, she is both.
Lea can act really well that's why she won so many awards such as Olivier and Tony to name a few.. It required acting to be nominated much more to win. You can watch her in Miss Saigon Manila prod.. Someone posted it here on youtube. Enjoy! :)
Happy ending scenarios. - Chris is clear that he’s married. They register the marriage and each has a copy of the wedding certificate. Chris cannot remarry without ending his marriage to Kim. - Chris refuses to leave Saigon. He endures any court-martial but he finds Kim. There were Americans left behind but they eventually got out. - The Engineer uses his smarts to get them from Bangkok to the US. If they survived escaping Vietnam, surely Engineer can find a connection to Chris. - Chris’s marriage to Ellen is annulled because of his bigotry. Chris continues to be married to Kim - Kim has wounded herself but survives. Chris realizes that Kim was willing to die for him and their child. The three of them are united as a family.
I love the musical but I can't see any chemistry between the two. I always see kim on my head as a vulnerable young vietnamese girl but eva (though has a great voice) didn't give justice.
well Alistair was in his late twenties when this was done he is the one who plays Chris in this and how do I Know this because he was born one year before me
miss my favourite chris, although chris peluso is amazing and kind of dreamy, i just think he lacks some of the emotional intensity and chemistry that Alistair brought to the role.
I have finally got the tickets for Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary Performance at the Vue Cinema in Scunthorpe on Sunday the 16th of October and I picked them up on Thursday the 14th of July with my dad
I know they are both lovely people but I feel like I'd hate having to make-out with someone every day as my job. Like imagine having a long day and you're upset but you have to kiss someone & sing in their face each night. haha
Because of chris i learned from my self for being single since birth is that its better to die single than hurting and interrupting other peoples feelings
I served eight years in the Southeast Asia region during the Vietnam era. I can't get over this musical and the original ending with the song Sacred Bird before the finale. Since they replace the song with Little God of My heart, it just doesn't carries the same effect.
Same🤣Simon bowman and Lea Salonga's Version is more higher, and more emotion, and she's only 18 their, although Eva is also 18 here, but the difference is that theirs a kissing Scene
am i the only one who thinks that this and sun and moon should've be in each other's places lol. i mean this sounds more sexually romantic while sun and moon sounds like they already had a bond
I think it's the body language that I don't like from this version. It's more like they're singing to a song about spontaneous desire rather than a discovery of something brief but profound, the way it was portrayed by the original cast. Or maybe it's just the late 80's romance style vs the contemporary style.
Those who love Eva keep saying she looks more Vietnamese. Please, I am a Filipino and both Lea and Eva have Filipino blood. However, after being with real Vietnamese, both of them do not really look Vietnamese. But who cares? The Philippines and Vietnam are both in SEA.
Enjoyable to watch, though below Lea Salonga & Simon Bowman's caliber. I wasn't expecting a win, but I was hoping that Eva & the rest of the cast would at least get Olivier nominations.
I am with Will with Chris character because alistair's vibrato is too much. It is distracting me to a point that it is better with opera. Anyhow, he is good.
I like Alistair’e voice more than Simon’s but Simon acted so passionately that it feels like nobody can top his performance. Alistair is a very close second though.
Eva is from Charlotte. She was in a competition called the Blummies and she was the top girl. Then she went to New York and she got recognized by the producer of this show
Hey i mean no offence but i dont really feel the chemistry between them like Lea and Will did, seriously like the way they connected in their eyes or how they hugged each other sooo tight make me cant help smiling all the time and feel like i'm intruding their special romance moments there. And the pants used with ao dai is not like that, i'm pretty sure they are bigger, looks very fluffy like clouds ☁☁🌞🌝
Was this a show performance or a special performance? The show performance always resonates best with the audience member. They took a curtain call immediately after the song. .Was it just me or was the video jerky, not smooth? That would greatly affect the viewer’s perception of the performance.

maybe it was the rush of everything that it didn't let you sink in the romance (because that would be my reason why i personally didn't see any chemistry in this song)
revy chaniago well. they trained not to be awkward since eva view alister as a brother at first meeting. and the director let them alone together at rehearsal room to talk. according to eva :)
Okay guys, thats the end of the show. Nothing more. No heartbreak. Nope. This is the end.
This is fine.
Hah
yep you’re right hahahah
Yes please! No death, no leaving one another!!
Every time I listen to the musical all the way through I have to go back and listen to this again lol
😭😭😭😭😭 Why couldn't it be happy?? 😭😭😭😭
I think Eva played the role really well.
She really played it very well, but surely no one can beat the original kim, but their still same blood flowing on their body, A filipino Blood
She was outstanding.
Lea Salonga much better
I've noticed the pace of the music was a bit faster than the original. I remember Lea Salonga saying the musical was so difficult to sing becoz there were very high notes and very very low notes such that you'd go out of tune or flat or lose breathe if you don't have the proper training. 💝
Chipmunks version hahahaha
I don't understand why this song is often used to represent the musical. Don't get me wrong, I like this song, but I think there are so many better songs in this show.
I like Sun and Moon a lot more
24601 lm Sun and Moon is definitely much more gorgeous!
niclovesuke am I the only one who likes the american dream? 😂😂😂😂😂
Reuben Marc Abrogar You're the first person who's ever said that but commendable choice 😂😂😂😂. Sun and Moon for me, though.
I like The Heat Is On tho 😂😂
and the musical end here, no more to see...
How did he end up playing a chorus barricade boy in les mis?
+Vincent Owens THATS how I knew his name! I just felt like I had seen his name somewhere recently and I couldn't figure it out.
Vincent Owens he is now heading off to Dubai as enjorlas xx
Vincent Owens I saw him live in WICkED as Fiyero, and he was genuinely amazing. He managed to play a character a lot younger than himself and was so believable
He didnt really have a choice. Hes not the bad guy, he couldnt just go back to Vietnam after Saigon fell.
good point
but srsly he should've checked whether Kim died first before he got married
that would have been next to impossible, as they did not keep records like that in Vietnam.
Yeah, not to mention that she was an undocumented refugee after she fled Vietnam. So even if he tried to find her, he wouldn’t be able to.
But he got married way fast. He saw Kim again after 3 years and he was already married. Moved on too fast. Did not hold on to his promise
Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Alistair has a very similar voice to Aaron Tveit.
Ahh, kind of. I see what you mean.
*me, proud of Alistair for coming so far on broadway after so many years of les mis, respecting that he has moved on and plays the protagonist in a broadway show:* you go jean prouvaire!
yayyy
🤣🤣🤣 This is highly relatable!
Big mood. Also same with Killian tbh.
*me, proud of all the roles Killian has played in Les Mis especially Valjean, and so proud of all he's done otherwise like Kinky Boots in theaters around the world, seeing him do literally anything*: Look at my moth child Combeferre look at him go
Whenever I hear little God of my heart when Chris (Alistair) screams for Kim, I get chills and a lump in my throat because it gets me every time
same also have been lucky to see it live as well as on the cast recording actually saw and met Alistair Brammer after I saw him play Chris live
These newer versions have a shorter phrasing and I really think it really undercut the full impact of the emotion.
Saw the original cast and these two. LOVE them!!!
Superb show.....I blub every time!!!!
True
i love eva and this is great but.... am i the only one that feels like... its missing something..? like that light tingly sensation it gives your heart and stomach..
i think it's a bit too fast
"I got a singular impression things are moving too fast"...
Yeah the Beat of The song is Too fast, The Original Key and Beat of It Is Much Better, and The Song last for like 4-5 minutes
She's fabulous and he needs a GPS to find the center of pitch. Shame.

+Siri Hammond I've always interpreted it as West>East, if those lyrics weren't in anyway offensive then they wouldn't have changed it but they did.

have they changed the lyrics? where? It's always West>East , even today.
Amazing voices ! They are both brilliant .
Chris
In a place that won't let us feel
In a life where nothing seems real
I have found you
I have found you
Kim
In a world that's moving too fast
In a world where nothing can last
I will hold you
I will hold you
Chris
Our lives will change, when tomorrow comes
Kim
Tonight our hearts drown the distant drums
Chris
And we have music all right
Tearing the night
The song
Played on a solo saxophone
A crazy sound
Kim
A lonely sound
Both
A cry that tells us love goes on and on
Played on a solo saxophone
It's telling me
To hold you tight
And dance like it's the last night of the world
Chris
On the other side of the earth
There's a place where life still has worth
I will take you
Kim
I'll go with you
Chris
You won't believe all the things you'll see
I know 'cause you'll see them all with me
Both
If we're together that's when
We'll hear it again
The song
Played on a solo saxophone
A crazy sound
A lonely sound
A cry that tells us love goes on and on
Played on a solo saxophone
It's telling me
To hold you tight
And dance like it's the last night of the world
Kim
Dreams
Were all I ever knew
Chris
Dreams
You won't need when I'm through
Both
Anywhere
We may be
I will sing with you
Our song. ..
Both
So stay with me
And hold me tight
And dance
Like it's the last night of the world
The original with Lea is still THE BEST EVER.
they're very good but the original is really the best not only because they're original but if they're that age again and audition for this they will get these roles again..that's how good they were just watch it again if you dot believe me Lea salonga and Simon bowman
exactly! i love Lea's innocence that's perfect for Kim but i also like Will Chase.

For me Eva is a better actress than a singer. I like Rachelle Ann's voice better.. Also just my opinion.
watch the original lea was very good.
Well, as a GenXer, during my time it was said that Lea was a singer who could act and Monique was an actress who could sing LOL.
Lea will always be the perfect Kim.
+Ann B. oh pls come on, stop comparing
+frankieberntzen
ikr
+frankieberntzen true
+Chuck and Blair I never got to see her on the last night. I got sick. 💔. At least the 25th will be streamed. X
+jane mcfaddenmeep Thats so sad... :/ She is so amazing.
I really like the way he sings "tearing the night". It sounds really nice :)
I know the song isn’t sad in itself but it makes me cry so much be because I know how it ends 😭😭😭 one of the best musicals easily
i dont feel the love
they have chemistry for me
Alistair is Wicked London’s brand new Fiyero! He begins performances July 22nd 2019!

- Kim has wounded herself but survives. Chris realizes that Kim was willing to die for him and their child. The three of them are united as a family.
How the hell is Chris a bigot? He was willing to marry a Vietnamese girl. And even if he was a bigot, that fact wouldn't annul his marriage.
I love the musical but I can't see any chemistry between the two. I always see kim on my head as a vulnerable young vietnamese girl but eva (though has a great voice) didn't give justice.
They look so young!
well Alistair was in his late twenties when this was done he is the one who plays Chris in this and how do I Know this because he was born one year before me
They are both perfect for the (KIM) character and both have Filipino Blood....
amazing....
Idk I just don't like Alastair as chris, I feel like he needs a deeper voice..... He is a great singer!
Lisa Simpson would be proud.
miss my favourite chris, although chris peluso is amazing and kind of dreamy, i just think he lacks some of the emotional intensity and chemistry that Alistair brought to the role.
Cutting the fanfare at the end always seems like a bizarre thing to do. 4 minutes too much in this world for a song on TV?
Eva has the most beautiful voice imaginable
I have finally got the tickets for Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary Performance at the Vue Cinema in Scunthorpe on Sunday the 16th of October and I picked them up on Thursday the 14th of July with my dad
alistair is a beautiful person
Dude! what is it with all the vibrato!?. Too much for me sadly!
idk about you guys but i frikin love this version,, stop comparing eva and lea it makes me sad :(
:( this song is so gorgeous
I know they are both lovely people but I feel like I'd hate having to make-out with someone every day as my job. Like imagine having a long day and you're upset but you have to kiss someone & sing in their face each night. haha
Alex S.
Idk man, Eva is pretty hot. Sounds ok to me haha
Maybe I just keep thinking of Lea...
Same🤣Simon bowman and Lea Salonga's Version is more higher, and more emotion, and she's only 18 their, although Eva is also 18 here, but the difference is that theirs a kissing Scene
When is the stage production back in Australia ?
am i the only one who thinks that this and sun and moon should've be in each other's places lol. i mean this sounds more sexually romantic while sun and moon sounds like they already had a bond
That’s a good point. There is the line about having come so far, but sex arrived before love in this relationship.
for me it's team eva all the way💝💝💝.
yes shes amazing
I adore Eva marie noblezada
cant wait to see her 26 th Feb 💝💝
Nothing like the original casts. Lea and Simon by far the best to ever played the role of Kim and Chris handsdown.
Leah Salonga and Simon bowman is still the one for me , the original Kim and Chris
Are you a strong GI?
@@juandelacruz4262Why would you think I am a GI in the first place?
Enjoyable to watch, though below Lea Salonga & Simon Bowman's caliber. I wasn't expecting a win, but I was hoping that Eva & the rest of the cast would at least get Olivier nominations.
Original is still better.
Nope ... Eva looks vienamese ..Lea looks pinay .. which is less authentic....
Simon Bowman ❤
Delboy Runny still lea is the best, singing and acting wise ❤
The connection though needs be enhanced and make more natural...... Aww and what followed is lea's.. Can't help but miss lea.. And her chris
Why them seem more angry than inlove 😂😂😂
Eva is from Charlotte. She was in a competition called the Blummies and she was the top girl. Then she went to New York and she got recognized by the producer of this show
Hey i mean no offence but i dont really feel the chemistry between them like Lea and Will did, seriously like the way they connected in their eyes or how they hugged each other sooo tight make me cant help smiling all the time and feel like i'm intruding their special romance moments there.
And the pants used with ao dai is not like that, i'm pretty sure they are bigger, looks very fluffy like clouds ☁☁🌞🌝
I actually really like their version lol
liar Chris liar
Finally age appropriate pairing
He's trying too hard.
no offense meant LEA SALONGA AND WILL CHASE IS THE BEST KIM AND CHRIS.
good but not as good as the original
Good but not nearly as good as the Lea Solonga era.
Ill be viewing this a few more million times !! Thanx for posting !! Truly Truly appreciate it.
Saw them live in London at the time. Their performance was deeply moving.
The changed the fucking lyrics WTF I DONT LIKE THIS
This is the cast i watched yesterday
I love "Miss Saigon", but I don't care for this abridged version of one of it's best numbers, nor for the wobbly singing of the tenor.
Was this a show performance or a special performance? The show performance always resonates best with the audience member. They took a curtain call immediately after the song.
.Was it just me or was the video jerky, not smooth? That would greatly affect the viewer’s perception of the performance.
very good singers but I have watched the original so i think the it was a lot better the emotion is different.
I can listen to eva noblezada all day.
Did you see her in Yellow Rose? What did you think of her singing?
they changed the lyrics :(
no you might think that but this is the revival version of the song so a few of the lines are modern but they could not do the full song sadly in this so not all lyrics are changed
why is the video laggy?
BEST LOVE SONG EVER!!!!!
Huh I love Alistair
The song is shorter here :( They cut some parts
I think that vibrato is out of control(?
Wonderful
A guy who couldn't be put through to the tv shows to be considered to play "Joseph " in the BBC programme as proved them all wrong ,a great talent as this piece show , good on yer Alistair
my God, it is where i was born and i live now... anyone calls this city " HCM" but i always like to call my city " Saigon"... because it is special
Imagine how good this would have been if Brammer could actually sing.
Is it me or the newer versions seem too fast for the feels emotion and the OG cast had more chemistry
I prefer the slower tempo of the original.
Saw the West End show- absolutely mesmerising experience ❤😢
still prefer David Campbell's vocal from Hey Mr Producer
The munchkins version ahahahaha ahahahaha
Dude needs to ease up on his vibrato in parts. But otherwise great.
Love this song
Anyone know why sun and moon wasn't in the 25th anniv edition?
That guy looks like Jamie Dornan
Saw this this on Bdwy 3x and it changed my life.
Why is there no..chemistry??
Cosette Meinster why are you here?they have chemistry stupid.
for me, there is no chemistry .. hmm
+Michel Ghaleb I agree. the chemisty is fab and it did see a bit rude.I personally adore Eva.if you follow her on twitter she's the most beautiful kind soul on there. I'm going to the last performance.boooo hooo. don't leave London :(
maybe it was the rush of everything that it didn't let you sink in the romance (because that would be my reason why i personally didn't see any chemistry in this song)
Cosette Meinster because they seem in a hurry ☺️
They are really dating after this. arent they?
no eva has a boyfriend. eva's boyfriend stars in sherk the musical. he is a awsome guy
Eleanor Boylan so natural how they played the roles. I think ill see them as movie stars next few years
revy chaniago well. they trained not to be awkward since eva view alister as a brother at first meeting. and the director let them alone together at rehearsal room to talk. according to eva :)
revy chaniago no Alistair has some one already
revy chaniago no Alistair has some one already
Jehan??
