  • This video has a few rare gems from a concert on June 10, 2017 in Detroit, MI, which featured Joan Baez, the Indigo Girls, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. The four folk singers and songwriters were touring together on the “Four Voices” tour.
The tour placed four icons of folk music, representing different generations and styles ,on one stage. Together they blended their four unique voices to create magic. Songs like Dylan’s, “The Times They Are A Changing,” were taken to new heights in four part guitar and vocal harmony.
The concert, which included iconic Joan Baez hits like “Diamonds and Rust.”
Joan Baez also debuted her first new song in decades, a political charged warning song called, “Nasty Man.”
Joan Baez closed out the sold-out show with a soul stirring solo rendition of “Sweet Chariot,” which the iconic folk singer performed at Woodstock in 1969.
A unique evening of classic folk songs re-imagined, Four Voices, was a memorable concert experience.
Perhaps Joan Baez, the Indigo Girls and Mary Chapin Carpenter have a reboot planned for 2024?
