No issues, you can transfer now. But, shifting a loan from one bank to another bank needs a lot of calculations. You can't simply consider the interest rate.
Normally, at the beginning of the loan, the interest part is much more than the principal part in your EMI. Month on month, the interest part reduces, and the principal part increases. After 10 years in a 20 years loan tenure, you will close only 1/3rd of your loan amount.

After the 10th year, your interest part has grown considerably. But, if you shift your outstanding loan to a new bank at this time, the new bank will treat your loan as a new loan.
Say, the outstanding loan amount is 18 lakhs. For this amount, you have to pay EMI hereafter. But, in this new loan EMI, again interest part is much higher than the principal part. It means you are going to pay more interest on the new loan.
So, before getting into the new one, do all calculations and then move, if you are satisfied.

It depends under which lending rate you are. If you are in MCLR, pay a conversion fee and decrease the ROI. You won't get any compensation. Better Change your lending rate from MCLR to RLLR.

Thanks for your comment. For any loan amount, the lowest interest rate is best.
Best loan tenure depends on the person. EMI reduces with the increase in loan tenure. So, If you are able to afford more EMI, choose short tenure, otherwise go for a long tenure.

Tenure period can be decided based on your affordability. If you want to quickly pay off your loan and you are able to pay high EMI, then you can go for low tenure. Otherwise you can go for high tenure period. Some persons should consider their tax benefit also. So, choosing the right tenure is completely person dependent.

It is based on your economic situation. When you increase the EMI, you are committed. You must pay the increased EMI every month. But, when you choose part-payments, you can pay the amount whenever you want. The latter one is very flexible.

No procedure. Just approach the bank and ask the outstanding loan amount. Then pay it by cheque or fund transfer. No penalty for pre-closure of loan.

It depends on the person's commitment and economic situation.
For example, When you increase the EMI, you are committed. You must pay the increased EMI every month. If you get a considerable salary hike, you can choose this option.
But, when you choose part-payments, you can pay the amount whenever you want. The latter one is very flexible.

Sir, I got loan amount for rs.14,00,000/ from LIC paying EMI of rs.15,652/ from October,2010 and paid emi up to October 2022. If I will close the loan, is it beneficial tome.
Based on interest reduction, it is beneficial. But, consider the tax benefits before closing the loan.

The minimum loan tenure for a home loan is 5 years. For 5 lakhs loan with a interest rate of 7% in 5 years, you have to pay ₹9,901 as EMI. So, take the loan for 5 years and you can complete it within 2 years by paying your convenient part payments.

You can calculate your home loan EMI amount with the help of the mathematical formula:
EMI Amount = [P x R x (1+R)^N]/[(1+R)^N-1],
where, P, R, and N are the variables.
The EMI value will change each time you change any of the three variables.
Let’s discuss these variables in detail.
P stands for the ‘Principal Amount’. The principal amount is the original loan amount given to you by the bank, on which the interest will be calculated.
R stands for the rate of interest set by the bank.
N is the number of years for which the loan has been taken. As EMIs are paid every month, the duration is calculated in the number of months.
So, assuming that you take a home loan of Rs 50 lakh with an average interest rate of 12% for a tenure of 10 years, the approximate EMI will be:
P = Rs 50 lakh,
R = (12/100)/12 (convert to months) = 0.01,
N = 10 years = 120 months
EMI Amount = [P x R x (1+R)^N]/[(1+R)^N-1]
EMI = [5000000 x 0.01 x (1+0.01)^120] / [(1+0.01)^(120-1)]
EMI = Rs 71,735.

My loan amount is 20 lakhs, borrowed for a period of 20 yrs....emi started in 2014...i haven't missed any of my emi...but I have paid only the emi..not any extra amount towards the loan... interest rate has been reduced to 6.85....how much should i pay extra along with emi..so that I can finish my loan earlier
Its too difficult to say. You are running the 8th year in the loan tenure now. You have not mentioned, at what interest rate have you taken the loan? Anyway, you've take the loan at a particular interest rate and that rate has been change several times during this period. Because of that, your loan tenure, principal and interest may have changed several times. That's why, its difficult to calculate. But. don't worry.
Anything, you add to your EMI, will reduce the tenure and make you to close the loan earlier. So, whatever you can afford (Rs.1000, Rs.2000, .......) to pay additionally every month, start paying off.

My suggestion is, close the loan within 10 years by doing the part payment periodically. For the rest of the period , invest the same EMI amount to index funds in SIP mode.

Yes, you can pre-close your loan. For pre-closure of home loans, you have to pay the outstanding loan amount only. No need to pay the interest for the remaining loan tenure. As per RBI norms, there is no penalty for home loan pre-closure. But, some NBFCs collect the pre-closure charges.
