  • GET THE AIR OUT. New Pneumatic Grease Gun from Harbor Freight. Fill and bleed air on first use.
    I read some product reviews for this tool and it seemed some folks had problems bleeding the air out and getting it to work the first time or after changing the cartridge. This is how I did it. It may be overkill. But, it worked for me.
    The trigger is a little flimsy and I may have to modify it. Other than that, it works fine.
    Update: I've gone through two cartridges of grease without any failure or major complaint.
    Just useful info: The grease fitting at the end of the grease gun hose is threaded on and you can loosen or tighten it's grip on the zerk fitting buy twisting it where its is knurled. Nice to know if it becomes stuck on the zerk fitting or won't stay on the zerk fitting. Most grease guns are designed this way.
    If the part won't take any grease because the zerk fitting is clogged, remove it and clean it out with a twist drill or replace the zerk fitting with a new one.

    So I have to put grease in my grease gun before I put grease in my grease gun?
    Don't they make a grease gun that will grease a grease gun?

      Actually, I've been using grease guns for a good 16 years now and I know from experience when buying a new grease gun the plunger won't always go in the cartridge so maybe the idea of greasing the plunger first isn't so bad.

    this is a good idea, another good idea is to wash the inside of the washing machine, and to lubricate the oilcan

    All of you people bashing and hating on the guy.So what if he did something we might find as unnecessary.He didnt do anything that was WRONG,just unnecessary. He did however take the time to make a video that may or may not be helpful depending on how judgemental you people are.I know how to use a grease gun and was only watching this hoping for a review on the HF pnuematic gun.The only thing I saw him do that was perhaps unnecessary was to lube the grease tube.As far as filling the top with grease that's called priming the grease gun.Once again,nothing wrong just a step that was perhaps unnecessary to most people and maybe a little funny to.And I found this to be informative to the degree of the information he provided.But for you guys to have nothing better to do than insult him is just sad.Someday I hope you guys are doing what you feel is a good job and someone with better skills and more knowledge comes along insults the crap out of you and your effort.Then perhaps you won't be so quick to leave your judgemental remarks on someone else's video.Thats what's wrong in today's world.Instead of people taking the time to say thanks or show appreciation,its shoot someone down for the least or smallest thing.Such a shame that it's this way.Thanks for the video guy.Your effort to inform people is appreciated!

    Get a "lock and lube" grease gun zerk fitting. It locks on the zerk fitting and lets use both hands for the greasing process. Amazon sells them.

    It looks like you had to push that rod pretty hard to get it into the tube. Should have used more grease on it during your pre grease.

  • @brucekivi

    Probably not a bad idea to lube the plunger, but I think it could have been done allot easier by just pulling it back and swabbing some grease down the tube, or even just a light coating of motor oil from a pump oiler. How well does this unit work? Is the grease flow easily controlled, or does it overfill whatever it is you are greasing quickly?

  • @dyoel182
    @dyoel182 9 років тому +2

    You made that so much harder then it needed to be but at least you knew it would work on the first pull. I just slapped a tube in mine, released the rod and pulled the trigger for a few seconds on mine.

    • @Theexplorographer
      @Theexplorographer 4 роки тому +1

      Packing grease in the handle/trigger is not needed. When you release the plunger grease is forced up into that area.

    It’s not that hard dude. I’ve never seen anyone go through so much trouble just put the grease in the gun. Usually takes about 30 seconds. OK, maybe 60 at the most.

    I have a pneumatic caulking gun that works terrific as long as you don't squeeze the trigger too long. It will empty a tube of caulk as quick as you blink your eyes. I am going to shop around a bit for this product. Thanks for the information.

    This is a spoof, it is really funny lol
    Totally not needed to take apart, I have used them for decades, not necessary.
    I'm curious, can you push the tab on the canaster when the plunger rod is in it's locked out position?
    Give it a go but do it on here on the video, lol

    Don’t bother using these kind of grease guns with the spring u have to pull back just get the new ones that has a threaded part that u screw a threaded cartridge to much easier and no grease waste and no greasy hands. Also u can just push the grease up to the same level as the cartridge and then there’s no air on the new guns

    Just like a 10year old, take it to pieces before realising there was no need to do so, then grease the inside of a grease gun, should you really be allowed to play with big boy tools without adult supervision 😅😅

    You have to adjust the pressure on your tank, turn it down the grease should`nt shoot out like that. You`ll blow out the Ball Joints or what ever your greasing up..
