New here? My name is Lea and I live with my partner Maarten, our daughter Puck and toddler Bo on our land in Central Portugal. We left the rat race in the Netherlands in 2018 and moved south in our old campervan. Five years ago we bought land in Portugal that had been abandoned for several decades. After lots of hard work we now live in a beautiful yurt and keep ourselves busy growing our own vegetables as well as producing olive oil, wine and honey on a small scale. This channel documents all the different jobs we have to do, and sometimes some nice footage of this beautiful country we now call home.

Great episode, Bo and Pick are growing up so quickly and love to help you. You’re a great Mom!
That little chickens are so sweet 😊 when you moving to the new house you will improve so much with all the blue eddy (?) Products, I'm so glad for you guys. 💙
U All's Garden is looking Beautiful... Especially with the Flowers 🌹
The pasta recipe looked super yummy 😋🤤
I adore your content b/c you're so genuine, so transparent and so profound. What a treasure you are to your followers but more importantly to your husband and your children. The cooking episodes are always so informative and I love how you patiently allow the children to help you in the kitchen as well as in the garden. You've touched my heart in so many ways...thank you.
Beautifully stated. 😊
Thanks for your kind words 😊
It’s always such a treat to see your videos, congratulations on your baby chicks, they are beautiful. My family comes from Portugal and I have great memories of just being free and playing with the baby animals, children have a special way to be so gentle with baby animals when you live like this. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lifestyle 👍👍❤️❤️
I watched your video from the beginning. Pumpkins and beans, sweet! 😊
I thought of you today as I picked my first summer squash of the season. It has been unusually hot here in New England. As I see your baby chicks I am missing my own flock of egg layers. Perhaps I will start again.
I am glad you have a good dependable solar storage battery. I can not imagine not having one for back up.
Congrats! Hope you have many more :) These batteries are such a blessing, make life much easier.
You are a good cooker
Love your natural cooking. You should get a nice little BBQ ! you will love it.
Maybe some day if we have a more suitable terrace, you have to be really careful during fire season
Great video and love the harvested vegetables and the chicks are adorable. Hope the house build starts soon☺
Thanks! The housebuild will start soon, but I won't post about it for a while 🙂
@@ourportuguesehomestead oh keeping us in suspense...LOL♥
Who needs computers and electronics when you have baby chicks! That's great for your kids.
@@micheler.5 don’t worry, they also get screen time ;)
that looks bloomin delicious...
It was! Both dishes 😊
Lovely video ❤❤❤
Great video!
Nice😊
Those filled pasta shells looked so delicious 😋 wishing you a good summer
Made them again yesterday, so good!
Mmm pasta ziet er heerlijk uit!
I really LOVE your cocking. May be you could do more cocking Videos an create a Playlist with them? I'm sure this would be a success.
Thanks, I have a playlist on my channel page with cooking videos :)
Lots of rain in Sweden, the onions are bad and tasteless. Amazing that a battery will run a Hilti-gun, some of this modern tech really does make life easier.
Merhaba kolaylı gelsin, Türkiye'den sevgiler.
❤️😁
Enjoyed the video I was wondering if you could tell me what was the cheese used in the past recipe?
It's "queijo fresco", fresh cheese. Basically a really young cheese. You can also make it with ricotta (will be a different texture) if that is more available to you
❤❤❤❤❤❤
👍
The guy from frankie off grid on you tube is looking for someone with a small digger to do some work for them please contact clarissa they live near you same district and Oregon homestead were looking foe digger man😊❤
@@andrewkerr8871 thanks Andrew, I’ll keep that in mind :)
I am annoyed with your idea that the chicks, 'just happened'; and it is something that you have had to deal with in the best way possible. YOU made the decision to introduced fertilized eggs to your broody chicken. Before you did that, don't you think it would have been beneficial to the hen and chicks to carefully consider their future welfare. Maybe more of the spur of the moment decisions of homesteaders about introducing animals to their properties should be more considered, and geared towards the welfare of the animals.
I'm taking care of them though?
Hi Leah 👋🏻
Thanks for the video.
I love your sunflowers!
I always love baby chicks! Summer produce is the best food!
These are our first babies and it's very exciting!
Wonderful video. Am so glad the weather has been better for you this year!!
It's been great, but it's now about to get hot 😅
Courgettes taste great when you take the green skin off and then cook them!
That dress you are wearing today is beautiful on you. I love baby chicks or baby ducks the children are growing up
Are you busy harvesting You have a lovely lifestyle
Great video! I love the rain and my plants love them more! Enjoy your day 😊
I love this video. The chicks are so cute and the children are really enjoying them. the pasta dish you made looks very good. Glad to see a video today.
Thank you for this wonderful video, it's like paradise with the children, busy with the baby-chickens, your beautiful sunflowers, rich harvest and the Bluetti. There is a lot of work to do, and there are a lot of blessings. Great to hear the weather is fine for the garden and your family. with love from Netherlands.
OMG! Love love your Red Sun flower… I didn’t see that colour in Malaysia… We have yellow tho.. You’re very hard working wife/mum… Sending love n respect ❤❤❤❤
There hasn't been a UA-cam channel this last week that hasn't mentioned the weather, what the agenda????!!!
Maybe because the weather is kinda crucial in being able to grow food 🤨
Your outlook on life, your values and priorities, the way you raise your kids and your life on the farm is so awesome. Keep it up, stick to your dreams and plans and best wishes! You represent our dreams.
Thank you for sharing another one of your delicious healthy recipes love them well done oh the baby chicks cute your land has now a great abundance of food altogether work take care 👍👋👋❤
Leah, your recipe’s are so savory. I eat that way and feel so much better than large meals. The chicks are the best. Take care.❤
As always....inspirational......thank you. Real life portrayed
Those baby chooks are just sooooo cute
LOVE your cooking & recipe ideas 😋
I will endeavour with my gardening although I think that you perhaps devote more time & energy to yours- another lesson to be learned. Although I love all creatures great & smallI I seem to have all manner of critters munching away - cauliflower, parsley, basil, mint & even my chilli 😭
Now that everything is going it's not too much work, just eating 😊. Pests can be very disheartening yes!
Hands up, who else waved to Bo when he was trying to look into the camera?
👏👏👏
🌟🫶🏻👏👍🍀💐
Great Video ❤ xx
Love the 🐤 😊
Look good.
❤❤
I have also referred Maarten's digger service to Cindy Vine (perhaps a piggie or 2 in the near future?)
Thanks Sonya :) (not taking on any more animals atm though 😅)
@@ourportuguesehomestead they are awfully cutie pie😁😍🐽
Excuse me. Do you use tap water or groundwater? 🙏
We use water from our well that we filter for drinking
Wonderful video! The chicks are sweet and I love the interaction the children have with them , and in the kitchen with Lea! Your pasta dish looked so good! All looking so nice in your garden, cooler temps are always 'invited' !💚
6:00 i dont know about chickens but ducks often lay their brood in a tree more then a meter of the ground
the ducklings basically have rubber bones at that stage.
it might be different for chickens
Nice family video.Keep enjoy!Take care.Lekker eten.😋Groetjes van a portugees in de Nederlands.🤗🤗🤗🤗
