I've watched and followed both of your videos. I'm glad you guys got together. I'm in Maine with an Albin 25 prepping for an ICW run to Florida at the end of summer... but I'm a ragbagger at heart. I had a guy approach me (today) to buy his 28' Albin Cumulus and might scuddel my motoring plans. I'm retired going single-handed. I grew up summering in Maine and know the waters well, especially around Islesboro and Vinalhaven. Fair winds and following seas my friends.
This is a part of the country most loopers don't get to discover unless they do the down east loop. Fortunately, this is the area I'm familiar with and the great loop is in our future. I always look forward to the Ollie dog updates.
How fun. It was so sweet to see Ollie back on dolphin duty. I'm crossing my fingers someday you'll be sailing your own vessel. Once you live on the water it is hard to ever let it go.
We purchased our trawler in adorable Bucksport on the Penobscot Bay and are now Looping. Our plan is to take it back up to Maine next summer to explore the gorgeous bay further. We love Maine for both its beauty and kind people! Enjoy your new adventure, guys. You do such a wonderful job sharing - thank you!
Though I don't have a sailboat anymore, I love it. It's peaceful and quiet. You are closer to nature, because you have to pay closer attention to the weather and winds.
Hello, I have been following you guys for a year or two now as you made your way through the great loop. I'm delighted to see you found Maine! I live a few miles north of Bangor, or about 40 miles up the beautiful Penobscot River from the area you are cruising in. I am building a "JONESPORT/ BEALS ISLAND" lobster boat hull to be a comfortable live aboard & do the loop myself. The hull was designed in the 1920s. It was one of the very first lobster boats, designed by Will Frost, to be powered with an internal combustion engine. Enjoy Maine it is an incredibly beautiful place to "BE" Peter
Got to ask did Andy and Gwen save you from partaking in a Moxie? - If so count your blessing and you have true friends there. - BTW it was great seeing you 4 back together along with the 2 fur kids.
😂 it’s not a first trip to Maine without a taste of Moxie!! But we definitely didn’t make them finish it 🤣🤣 as a Mainer, I (Gwen) actually like it but it’s an acquired taste for sure 😂
@Gwen - Yes you and I have spoke of Moxie in the past on your channel. - I am originally from NH. Moxie is definitely not for the faint of heart and an aquired taste. Just a rung below "Nastygansett" on the "you ought not drink" that scale.
Nice to see you sailing with friends.

Ollie looked like he would rather be on Pivot lol

Awesome, good luck with the build!
Lovely cruise!
Fun reunion. Sailing looks great.
Oh what fun. So beautiful.
Before I watch this video I want to remind Jenn. "this too shall pass" lol
I agree. Elliott feels the "tug of the sea" too. Once it is in your blood, you can never get it out.
@@timgreen4137 Me too! The Great Lakes got into my blood as a child and I still feel it into my old age. Best moments of my life.
Bit missing about how you liked the sailing? You had very low wind speeds but did you have more "sporty" non trawler conditions?
Some non trawler conditions for sure, and we loved sailing! Would be so happy to do more in the future
very nice! did pivot sell?
Yes, and Pivot is back on the Loop!

Great episode! Where can I get one of those portlight fans? 😅
i know this is random, but what are the showers like on these older sailboats?
Hope you return to the water (Hint)
BackWest??? Down East!
One day!
The jury rigged extractor fans are probably better than most real extractor fans. LOL
Haha without a doubt. Send them an email if you're interested! info@abroadreachtravel.com
