Haha. I tell you Steve.. go to any Muslim country (Especially those underrated/undeveloped countries) you can get tour guide for free almost anytime, anywhere, and they are not expecting tips from you. This is the statement of many youtubers, not mine. But I experienced the same 😆 Explore more muslim country and you'll surprised how media twist the stories about Islam. ❤
I think that the first thing was a peeled version of a rare fruit called Samarqand, its a thick skinned sour fruit that is purplish in colour and has many small pomegranate like (but a bit harder) seeds, its not normally available in the markets, besides seasonal stalls that serve it with a salt-masala combo. Most people don't know about it because it grows only in some specific far flung parts of Pakistan. Aizaz probably got confused because traditional purple carrots(Carrots are supposed to be a colour ranging from red to purple in Pakistan, red being the most common) and especially Daikons/white long radishes (which is also the white thing in the sauce you were asking about) are served similarly at food stalls in Pakistan.
Foreign tourists and vloggers are destroying the negative image of Pakistan it had for years. Lots of Positive videos from foreign vloggers and bringing tourism back in Pakistan. Its just the Coronavirus pandemic that put the brakes on tourism around the world.
Look at them! they may not be able to offer you a huge twin tower to see or a luxurious Marina Bay to stay, but they do have that smile and hospitality which are second to nothing!
Two special things about Lahore. “Lahore lahore aey” which translates “Lahore is Lahore” ( one of its kind) and “ Jinhe lahore nahi vekhia o jamia nahi’ which means “ Whoever hasn’t seen Lahore yet isn’t born yet” (it’s a must visit place). Welcome to Pakistan.

Great that you guys enjoyed your dinner with those hospitable new friends. Interesting to follow you guys around. Keep exploring !!
There are two reason why you have Raita with Cumin one is that it yogurt in the raita refreshes and cumin helps in digestion but the main reason is to have it with the food if you its spicy for you. Another way of reducing spicy is to take bigger piece of Chapati/Naan/Roti with less amount of spicy curry plus you have Raita available anytime which you can pour or dip the bread in it or just have it with the spoon.
Covid restrictions were initially in place. The Pak PM Khan placed a smart lockdown in specific places with high covid infections. He did not impose a nationwide lockdown.
Lol they weren't carrots though! First red thing was a pomegranate, second white thing in the plastic bag was a radish, only last thing (the dessert) was a carrot :). I guess the tour guide didn't know the English words for them
