    I bought a Modi and Magni a couple years ago. But I ended up getting a balanced headphones HD660's and while this setup drives them wonderfully. I have been thinking about maybe upgrading to a Balanced DAC and Amp at some point here.

    Is this channel as slick as a Discovery Channel’s “How It’s Made” episode? Of course not! It shows the gritty reality of high quality electronics’ assembly. More, please. 👀

      More comming soon. I got some hangin around the shop videos in the cue.

      This channel was made just by throwing some Schiit together on camera, literally, and that's how I like it.

    Finally another great video! Keep them coming!

    Your chassis builder is Miles ahead of the competition! (Yeah..he probably gets that joke a lot).
    I mean, holy crap, it's like surgery getting those LEDs in the right spot. I really hope that the 3D printed light guide thingamajigs help out in the future.

      I think I speak for everyone in the shop that turns a screw when I tell ya that we are eagerly looking forward to having the light pipes on everything we make. Even FULLA 2. And FULLA 2 doesn't even have a light.

      I want it to be Fulla light pipes..TEEHEE! Yeahhh... Wait. Make a product that has RGB LEDs instead of the usual white! You know, for gamers! And use the light pipes to let the RGB flow across the entire chassis!

    Thanks for the video! What's the purpose of the cardboard insert in the packaging process?

    • @SchiitFerBrainz
      @SchiitFerBrainz  6 років тому +5

      We put the cardboard in to keep the power cord from scratching the bottom of the chassis. Just an extra precaution.

    Hello gentlemen!
    I came with my SCHIIT BIFROST-1 to Russia. Into the depths. My DAC was purchased in the USA (Pennsylvania). and it runs at 110 volts. But now in Russia I need to switch it to 220 volts. I saw on the Internet that it is necessary to re-solder the contact on the board inside, but I am afraid that I could harm the device. I have a very poor quality photo of this part. But I want to get professional advice and a more detailed explanation for my Master of Engineer. Could you send me detailed instructions and a photo (video) on how to properly rewire the power supply circuit of the transformer.
    Thanks.
    With the best regards, Andrey Koshkin.

    Here is my PCHIFI with Schiit Bifrost Multibit
    1. Modified the original I/V OPAMPs to ADA4625-2
    2. Changes USB to UNISON
    3. Under Windows10. set sound as 16bit 176400Hz (Bifrost Multibit has a huge problem with downsampling from 32bit to 16bit and 48kHz series, let windows do this job)
    4. Under Windows10, set system properties -> advanced -> performance -> Processor scheduling -> adjust for best performance of Background services.
    5. Use the Quick CPU unlock CPU park
    6. Use foobar2000 listen to music and install foobar Ramdisk and WASAPI components
    7.set the foobar2000 output as WASAPI(push) and buffer length 50ms, output data format 32-bit (for Audio)
    8.set the Potplayer output as WASAPI 2.0 output data format 32-bit (for Video)
    9. Set foobar2000 Advanced Playback WASAPI Hardware buffer push mode: 100ms, enable high worker process priority
    Advanced:
    10. Use WEISS Saracon Convert audio file to 64bit 176.4Khz and then playback

    BTW:
    1. ada4625 does not have a large current for output, it is best to work with Asgard3 as a pre-amp.
    2. and always use foobar2000 Ramdisk function
    3. 32bit audio provide really good sound atmosphere. let the software upsampling audios to 32bit and then let windows downsampling to 16bit

    So there's no purpose to those vents in the top?

    • @SchiitFerBrainz
      @SchiitFerBrainz  6 років тому +5

      The purpose of the holes in the top are to make the Bifrost look pretty.

      I have owned the Ragnarok for 5 months.
      It is the best amplifier that I have listened to and possessed.
      You are great!!!!
      my next purchase will be Yggdrasil (but in a not too close future, unfortunately I'm not rich :( )

    I have a small silver washer that came out of my Bifrost - where the hell does that go?

  • @shuyangshen2054

    Actually, AD5547 is a great chip than the other 5781 etc, because it has faster setting time and higher frequency. three bottlenecks of the multibit Bifrost first-generation, 1, the I/V opamp should replace to ADA4625, 2, the output of the SHARK DSP frequency should higher. 3, the audio file need to upsampling to 32bit and then downsampling to 16bit, the 32bit upsampling will provide huge sound image and music atmosphere, but the Bifrost multibit has a huge problem with downsampling (when using UNISON eat 32bit data) and output frequency (ad5547 has 6.8Mhz bandwidth! why not feed it in full) according to my listening experience.

    • @shuyangshen2054
      @shuyangshen2054 4 роки тому

      although ada4625 has no much current output, it is better to work with asgard3.

    • @shuyangshen2054
      @shuyangshen2054 4 роки тому

      actually, AKM is using 64bit upsampling, do you know the AK4191?

    • @shuyangshen2054
      @shuyangshen2054 4 роки тому

      as the result, Bifrost multibit 1 has two big problems on the sound, 1, the sound image is mess and noise, 2, some sound should appear at back but always appear at the front. the first problem can be solved by replacing the I/V opamp to ADA4625 with UNISON or clean digital source. The second problem should be solved by re-design your digital filter.

      If AD5547 can run at 6.8Mhz, this would be revolutionary, this would take the advantages both R2R and delta-Sigma. but, you need very good I/V (ada4625 is the best choice) and best digital filter design.

    If some Aliens would see the Valhallas burning on the rack they would really think we develop some kind of technologies to attack them. 🤣

      Were hoping for 2018. We really wanna get Sol out to you guys but it gotta be right. We're in sort of a "finer details" stage.
