This is why I buying this for my next amp. You people actually care for the product, it isn't just designed to have the cheapest components and get mass produced in low labour countries.
People and companies who take pride in their work are hard to find these days especially at an affordable price. Keep it up!

I just placed my order on the aegir instead, i wanted to try something different than another a/b amp. Really curious if it will be better and if 20w is enough.

At 24:30 stripping the white cable for 230 V conversion, the plastic that was taken off went inside the amp - and the dude didn't seem to notice.

    Hey there Tony.
Just wanted to let you know that it is "your" videos that has convinced me to buy Schiit.
I hope you get a raise or something, because this channel is great and I'd love to see more.
Maybe a couple of interviews? Sure the peeps who subbed this channel would love to ask some questions!
    Keep it up
Oh and you have an awesome job man!

This amp has authority and subtlety. Both of these qualities are difficult to package into one amplifier let alone with this quality-of-build, at this price-point, made in the USA. Dead quiet. I keep all my solid state on/quiescent as transistors and capacitors do not like regular on/off switching. It coasts along warm-to-warmer with or without signal. A small piece of white wire insulation lodged itself in the back of the amplifier when the voltage was changed from 115 to 230. You can see it pop off and land between the PC board and chassis.

I love the Sorbothane bumpers to mechanically isolate the transformer, although I was surprised a Toroidal transformer wasn't spec'd. Maybe at this price point it isn't cost feasible. The binding posts also look very high quality, much better than the usual cheapo 5 way binding posts you normally see at this price level. Overall, the simplicity of the build is also impressive...seems like no "complexity for the sake of complexity" going on here. :)

Tony, I'm told you can connect anything. How best to connect the digital out from TV to a Modi-3 whose digital will then connect to a SMSL D18, which powers my two speakers? I was thinking of using a Digital to coaxle from TV to the modi and a digital cable from the modi to the D18.

Im building a Tube preamp , but i cant find the schematics for Shit freya, what i dont understand is why does it have 4 tubes , when you ha ve double triodes in one tube , so that is 8 tubes , 4 per chanel , these tubes usually run at 50x amplification , so 4 of them is 50 to the 4th , that is a lot of amplification . My Single ended Power Amp has 3 tubes , ECC81 and 83 , so what i dont get is why does Shit have 4 tubes , i guess they run it in A class , not AB push pull , that wouldnt make much sense .
Anyone knows a bit on this , maybe a schematic ?

I know that as a viewer, I’m supposed to be paying attention to his product and methods. But damn it, I keep looking to the left of the screen at the gear that’s sitting there at the beginning of this clip. Let me guess what they are:
    - Mjolnir or Mjolnir 2 with LISST solid state tubes plugged in
    - Gungnir DAC but I’m guessing it’s NOT the Multibit
Ok. Now I’m off to listen to my Schiit setup and reaffirm my purchases from your company.

Andy Menendez - my guess is: 1. In Rush Current Management, 2. Cost Performance. They’re using a beefy conventional 600 VA transformer in a topology design that delivers exceptional performance for $700. Personally IMO the way they’ve designed the Vidar topology the expense of a Torroidal isn’t really justified.

    From the FAQ:
So what happens if I have 2 ohm speakers? You didn’t rate Vidar for 2 ohms.
No, we didn’t. Because speakers that are rated below 4 ohms are pretty rare. The bottom line is that Vidar will run 2 ohm speakers, but it may run into its protection and turn itself off.
Same for 4 ohms when running monoblocks?
Yes. Again, Vidar will probably work fine at sane volumes, but at higher output, you may trigger the protection.
To have to rely on playing at "sane" volums in 4 ohms for the Amp not to shut down is just not good enough... For me...
Besides that, I love your DAC's and RIAA :)
