- so after YEARS of consideration ive finally given in to my iner darkest urges! next month ill be buying the almost forgotten "bubble" chevy caprice 9c1 with the 5.7L 350c.i V8 under the hood!

I love vics (I own a p71) but my dad has a 9C1 with the LT1 corvette engine and I hate to admit it but it is indeed more fun to drive and can smoke my vic in a race
Not going to lie, I've wanted a 95-96 Caprice 9C1 for years... but you are right - pricey! I remember seeing them as a kid, what a boat of a car. Love it!
every time I think about getting an older car I remember that the the modern Chargers and Caprices are the way to go if I'm feeling the need for speed. Otherwise it's P71/P7B all the way!

I was gonna recommend Roadkill's Cop Car Challenge episode to see a little side by side comparison but Motortrend pulled it from UA-cam.
Personally I've always liked the styling of the Impala SS better than the Caprice but they're essentially the same car. That LT1 was a serious engine with a lot of potential. But you're still looking at spending a lot of money.

You made the right decision my friend welcome to the 9c1 clan and this car is thee best cop car ever made. People can hate for what i just said but they won't once they drive this beast of a car in there neighborhood
@Cougar Killer i own the 95 chevy caprice 9c1 with the lt1 in it and its a great project car. A lot of people that own this car totally raped the car by changing everything about it but I'm gonna restore it to its original look. It also has the spotlight on it too but doesn't seem to work might be disconnected somewhere lol
Good luck finding one of those after they were killed on 1996. You have a better change getting an Impala SS than a 9c1.
Those poor 9c1’s were turned into cabs and driven into oblivion. Any solid survivor now is going to COST
😄 still got my copy of midnight club la 😉 used to built all kinds of departments back then with the normal impala. the car at 2:34 was mine from 2009-2014 btw 😀. it is located in germany and i imported the smart siren shown in the beginning. but had none of that installed.
Where are you being serious? So is yours the cop car that I see that's over in Germany and there's some German gentleman who posted a UA-cam video of a 9c1 full-blown black and white with all the bells and whistles on it and I believe he might be a police officer himself I'm not sure but he drives it too police shows and it has the light bar on it everything?
Sorry for the long message I'm using voice to text on my phone but also wanted to say this my buddy me and him used to build cars used to go to the street races a lot growing up as teenagers and we were more into all the little import cars and I've had the same car I've been building for almost 10 years but he would buy sell trade cars all the time so you never knew what he was going to show up in the following week well one week I was supposed to meet up with them was sitting waiting at this park that's out in the middle of nowhere and all of a sudden here comes the p71 crown Vic with the push bar spotlight all the lights still in it comes flying in the parking lot lights blazing boxed me and scared the crap out of me man I'm like oh great they're picking on my little rice burner as they like to call them although I've built this motor from the ground up and I will say for an import it gets down with some v8s if you know how to build them right and not like these kids with just body kits spoilers and stickers I'm talking real money under the hood anyways he had a p71 crown Vic we decided for the hell of it out there that small town that we were in at the time to try on these back roads there's nobody around nothing but farmland and we decided to do a little Chase to see if I could outrun him and it was pretty fun but!!!
I have always wanted to get a retired police car but it would have to be the 9c1 Caprice like the one you're speaking of in the video that body style from the early to mid-90s or the 96 Impala SS has probably been one of my hands down favorite American cars ever trying to find one of those especially a retired cop car version those becoming few and far between I know especially these days and if it is in good condition people are going to want gold I would love to have one black and white just like the one in the video if that was truly your car with that same style light bar push bar spotlights etc basically California LAPD style I guess I think if I'm remembering the correct department that has that paint job or even all black with all the bills and whistles on it but that black and white paint job and those old school light bars was my favorite cop car growing up as a kid and honestly had they not stopped making the Capri's Impala 96 I wonder if it were to continue to stay as popular over the p71 crown Vic granted the crown Vic was very tough bulletproof car that went forever and I've heard the transmissions were better but in a straight line race those lt1s would always smoke those crown vics and I always was wondering as a kid before I knew a lot I knew they stopped making them why they started switching over to the crown vics when those caprices were faster and there's even a UA-cam video of a guy in the 96 Impala SS version running from a bunch of police in Oklahoma if you look it up and he's smoking the crown Vic's on the freeway gap on them when they hit the straightaways helicopter was struggling to keep up at 140 miles an hour Impala SS was pulling away 😂😂😂

my car was the one beginning with the time stamp (2:34). the one in the parking garage, not the black & white.
it was / is a white 95 9c1 with a cloth rear seat and no spotlights on the A pillars which came from north carolina. i put about 50k miles on it in germany and the highest i went for was about 125/130mph on the autobahn. i loved doing 0-60 in it 😀
yeah, it definitely is faster than a CVPI as i also rode in one of these as a passenger on a meet up.
yup! occasionally i check markets in europe and the US and they really got rare compared to ten / 15 years ago. prices however pretty much remained the same here. 🙋♂️

If you're going to keep the lt1 engine and not ls swap it look for a 24x conversion from a company like torqhead. Get rid of the opti as soon as possible .
What's the class size on the caprice of that year. Mid or Large automobile ? If large that's a keeper.

My homeboy had a 94 detective unit street appearance package caprice Mann I hate I didn’t get it he purchased it for like 3500 the cleanest I seen as I’ve seen only 5 9c1 caprice within 13 years man there rare closes thing to those are the 94-96 caprice B4u tow package with the 5.7 not 4.3
Be sure and get some extra oil seals, had a 95 Z28, glad it was still under Wtty.

I was raised gm I have a crown vic and it's awesome but in 1996 when gm discontinued the caprice for no reason the company slowly started to go downhill from there 🤔well atleast it's not dodge lol 😆

Try being factual not clownish.the Chevy was faster than the p71.chevy killed the b body line in all divisions which ended the caprice.i own 3 lt1 9c1 caprices and my daughter is a sheriff who drove the p71 and she agreed the ford was much slower .her 100,000 mile p71 couldn't catch my 350,000 mile 9c1.i will be rebuilding my 95 9c1 this summer and if you want to race stock for stock let me know.but be aware it runs near 170 mph.only mods are raised speed limiter and rpm limits to 6500,all other tunes are factory.

LOL good luck bro trying to find a clean nice LT1 9C1 that hasn't been converted to a impalla SS, Gansta mobile or just TRASHED out. I have been looking also and found a clean 95 9C1 LT1 for $3000 in Dallas and the guy said it was sold in 3 hours !! I had a clean low mile '95 9C1 LT1 around 2004/05 and REGRET selling it to this day !!! I got 26 MPG in that fucker driving from Oklahoma to Austin Tx :(
