rumple's reaction was just so heartwarming. I think other than his son being born and proposing to belle, this was the happiest he has ever been.

I didn't even notice this till just now... but while everyone's clapping, everyone's looking at the happy family - except Belle, who's looking square at her fiancé, seeing how he's reacting. Just... I thought this scene couldn't give me more feels, then it does!

We all do. Whether in that reality or this reality. But I am sure young Bealfire is at peace. And whether in this reality or not, he would not have wanted us to be saddened by his death. After some time, Neal would have wanted us all to move on... Just as how he did.
Also... anyone else get the impression that Rumple had positively no interest in this party whatsoever until he found out they named him for his kid? Cause he looked positively bored 'til the announcement and then wait straight into "Get it together, the Dark One doesn't cry in public" mode!

I'm pretty sure Rumple has cried multiple times. Probably not pouring tears, but he's cried. When he met Zoso and told him that his son was going to be taken away, when he found out Belle was alive, when Belle told him that she could be with him if he DIDN'T kill Regina out of revenge, when Felix gave him the Peter Pan doll he had as a child, and when Belle banished him from Storybrooke.
+iRazenrak Oh, I know we've seen crying Rumple- what I was trying to point out is he's intensely private. He wouldn't want to be *seen* crying by anyone in that room except Belle. He lets himself be human in front of her- everyone else, he has to keep up appearances of being unflappable.

@@francescapatti2934 She’s technically « Emma Charming » because her family are the Charmings but she’s Swan because she kinda took it as an alias. Also the creators said that she has some parallels with the « Ugly Duckling » story so « Swan » even because of that.

I think Neal death was partially in vain because he was the one that brought his father from the dead and his father is still the same villain with the lying and deceiving so Mr.Gold didn't change fully for the better and almost taking Emma for her magic into the hat in the process without letting anyone know about it. If Neal was alive would Mr.Gold take his heart since he knew him before being the Dark One to gain more power in the hat and be pissed off of him for taking Emma away into the hat?

when you think about it, why did the wicked witch have to take snow and charming's baby? Phillip and aurora can make an innocent product of true love too.
Also what if they ever have to retreat back to the Enchanted Forest? Neal Can't go back with them now, since he was born in this world.

She didn't HAVE to take Snow and Charming's baby. Zelena could have frozen Aurora and Phillips' newborn so time didn't pass for the child, preserving their innocence. Zelena CHOSE baby Neal because it would hurt Regina the most, same with her heart and David's courage (though that didn't do too much, since he'd already been tested for his courage before). Using Rumpelstiltskin's brain hurt him because he was her slave, her doll. Zelena was all about envy and vindictiveness. She could've potentially cast the time travel spell ages before but wanted to do it with her sister knowing her happiness was about to be destroyed.
Also, Snow and Charming's love had been artificially strengthened by Rumpelstiltskin and unintentionally by Regina, though that again was by Rumpelstiltskin's design when he turned Regina dark. She kept putting them through absolute hell, Rumpelstiltskin would bail them out when they got in over their heads in a specific way that would test or prove their love, then it would happen again. Aurora and Phillip went through some stuff together, but never as much as David and Snow. So the Charming's baby would be more powerful love-wise than nearly any other.
Although, I wonder if having the ingredients mean something to Zelena made them stronger for her. Kind of like the Dark Curse requiring crushing the heart of the one the caster loves most, rather than a random heart. If that's true, then all of them being family might have packed a serious punch. Regina her sister, Neal her... Great nephew?, Charming her nephew-in-law, and Rumpelstiltskin her mentor/crush (and nearly adoptive dad, but I guess Zelena didn't know that part. At least I hope she didn't, ew). So maybe that's why she waited to use the Charmings/Mills/Gold - to make sure her spell was at its most powerful.
Rumples reaction is it. You have to realize that Rumple, Emma and Henry are the only ones who were really impacted by Neal’s death.
Now the funny part. When Prince Neal grows up and tells someone his name, he will say “I’m named after my nephews dad who gave his life to save a town but most of all, me”

I kind of wish Snow and Charming wouldve talked to Emma first before snow got pregnant. (And yes I know ginnifer was actually pregnant in real life) but I feel like it's not really fair to Emma to see her parents whom abandoned her love another child when she didn't get that at all. But idk maybe it plays out into a part of the storyline where she's jealous. But still they should've asked for her opinion at least.
Sure they got pregnant when Emma and Henry were sent out of storybrooke and had they're memories of storybrooke wiped, while everyone else went back to the enchanted forest, then they're was the curse that sent all the chacaters back to storybrooke but made them forget what happened in the enchanted forest, so I doubt Snow and Charming were able to consult Emma on whether or not they got pregnant
She could've told them at that cave. At one point they were at a cave where they had to tell their deepest darkest secrets and Snow brought it up she wanted to get pregnant again. Emma could've told them if it bothered her then.

TheLegend1245 Well, in fairness he saved his dad, not just because he was his dad, but because he thought that they needed Rumple to beat the Wicked Witch. So, he was trying to save the town... didn't necessarily work, but he was trying, and I think they're trying to honor that sacrifice.

Candy Simmer Short answer, she ended up accidentally doing some time traveling back to the Enchanted Forest with Killian and had to go to a ball to ensure that her parents met. Basically, Fairy tale Back to the Future.
This scene caused me to stop watching once upon a time. Neal's character and relationship with Emma reminds me of a relationship I used to be in with this girl. She manipulated me and lied to me. I still have PTSD 8 years later. This show just romatiscized abuse and made this guy out to be a hero when in reality he hurts people and abuses them. I hope Emma has a good relationship with Killian or someone else that loves her. I hope Belle and Rumple are happy and he fully redeems himself. I hope Henry is happy and has a good future. I hope Regina and Robin sort out the Marion issue. I hope Snow and Charming are happy. However I hope Neal rots in Hell and this show doesn't do a Rumple style arc to bring him back. This show used to be good. I liked how I identified with characters such as Emma but I will not codone to watch a show that glorifies an abuser in such a way as naming royalty after him, let alone the royal brother of his abusee.
Emilie Banks i can relate. i was in this horrible relationship wit my own "neal" i feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with that. you got out at a good time. seasons 1 through 3 is the show in its prime where as 4 and 5 are kinda slow but not terrinle and six is altogether sucky. I F&*KING HATE REGINA AND SNOW AND RUMPLE AND DARE I SAY IT HENRY. there charectirisation went nowhere except down. the writers are inconsistent the plots are terrible the episodes are just basically snow wipes her ass how does affct regina? rumple breathes how does affect regina? a random person in aaustralia exsists here is reginas reaction. it sucks and she is a hypocrite that cant deal with consequences so makes excuses to get out of then. emma hook david and zelena are the only reasons i watch the show anymore. anyway sorry about the rant. the neal relationship i wad in traumatized me and i still am wary of anyone i date.
Danielle Rivers Wow that bad? I heard a couple of critiques off my friend who still watches. He told that the way this season is going he won't be watching any further. From what you say i don't blame him. He too said the only good parts of season 6 were Emma, Hook, David, Zelena and Archie.
Emilie Banks I too stopped watching the show. however i restarted about a year ago and they still make neal out to be a f****** hero like wtf?! he abused emma and had sex with her when she was a minor and left her in prison. the fact her left her a car and money doesnt change the fact he is a horrible person that had the choice to leave her and not let her take the blame for the watches or take her to storybrooke himself. remember august said he had to make a descusion? well most ouat fans dont. his death was one of the best things to happen to this show. if you want a good similar show with no gloryfying abusers or forced ass plotlines i reccomend the librarians. its a good humerous fantasy show with fantastic plots lovable characters and good romance. its wgat i started watching when i turned away from this and it made me realise that tgis show was even suckier than i first thought. ouat sucks and always has. it was only ever slightly less sucky in season 1.
i watch the librarians too and it is way better than the shitstorm that is ouat. i too hate neal. he reminds of someone i know and hate. i hate how they make him out to be a hero when infact he was a coward too scared to face daddy and only ever saw emma as an object. it took me a little while to like hook but he is good to emma and supports her so thats enough for me.

i highly doubt that they asked Rumple if it was okay. if you're going to name a kid after someone, ask permission, it's respectful. all the charmings are selfish
to be fair, Neal wasn't the name he and his Ex chose originally. that's just the name he acquired in TLWM, so i doubt he cared in that sense.

Worst name ever! He was not a hero. He left Emma to rot in prison and then, after 100s of years of running from his father, he decides to negate Gold’s sacrifice by killing him self to bring him back. He’s selfish and not worthy of being named after. They should’ve named him Leo after Snow’s father.
Or Graham. Why does no one talk about Graham. Yes he did have to leave Emma so she could break the curse but that didn’t have to mean sending her to prison. Plus he got over Tamara, a women he was *engaged* to pretty quick. He also acted like he was entitled to Emma.
