the extra weights on the subframe is for NVH, the added mass helps dampen or cancel out some type of vibration or resonance that existed. It's probably something specific to 2+0 vs 2+2, or TT vs non-TT cars given that the former spec affects driveshaft length and the latter affects which diff you got. that all impacts vibrational harmonics and some combination was probably deemed too "harsh" for the tourer car vibe Nissan was going for.
the yellow insert sheet in that fairlady catalogue is from Nissan Prince Kanagawa Sales Company (Nissan Purinsu Kanagawa Hanbai Kabushiki Kaisha) January 1997 (9th year of Heisei era) and it's for ordering a Z... maybe obviously lol the bottom parts are a bunch of options which are discounted if you but them as a set. some are for 2-seater and some are for "2 by 2" (guessing 4 seater) stuff like floor carpet, fireglaze paint (?), safety kits (hazard sign, booster cable, "rescueman" (idk what that is)), GPS navigation
@@PrizzaMike yeah it's pretty awesome to see hahah, small insights into how it was like... if i had the time i'd like to take a crack at actually translating the whole catalogue

Found this channel a few months ago, glad I did. One of my new favorites. I love how everything is done in garages and driveways, it has a real feel to it. Looking forward to seeing the day the channel does blow up and funds a proper shop, proper carcaine, proper auto adventures!
fun fact, those rear lcas are pretty well the only option for stock arms, the rest are the full heim'd ones. the oem replacements went out of stock long ago :/ those s13 stance subframe bushings are quite short for that subframe ?? :/ Jesus' alignment/lift setup is peak creatibity and useability, thats the first home setup i have seen and has given me some great ideas for my own. hell ya

this alignment guy, needs to get with the 3d printer guy to scan his tool (that mounts to wheels) to have a mount and some arms designhed and printed up. that way he can attach to the edge of the wheel lip like most alignment jigs
Your wheel fitment stresses me out, you are doing crazy close stuff...Brooklyn guy here, I am sure if I did that I would have issues, roads are trash here. But, hey, it looks amazing, always in awe with your endeavours.
This is like deja vu... dropping the rear subframe was one of the first things I did on my S13 project **mumbles** years ago, including the frozen urethane bushings... I vaguely remember wondering if you were supposed to leave the outer sleeve in place in the video where you were removing the old bushings, but I seem to recall there were differences in what to do with the metal sleeve depending on if you were using an S13 or S14 subframe.
Bro I’ve been watching your videos for a hot minute now couple of years and I got to stay bro you got me checking marketplace for 300zx😂 I want one now

Keep an eye on those subframe mounts Mike. The frame will probably chew into the body, without any bushing top side. You could always get some larger 2 piece poly's, machined down to fit. Shame the other ones didn't fit without the sleeve
I bought from buyee a couple weeks ago, I was buying a fan for my car and it was 90$ here, in Japan it was $19, I won the auction, they shipped to buyee and tacked on $21, cheapest international shipping would’ve brought it up to 90$ and it would’ve taken a month maybe longer to get to me.
@@s15melb buyee charges a bunch of hidden fees, they’re a bad middle man, but I don’t know of any other sites. If you strictly can’t find any parts in the US, then buyee might be your only choice. It’s just expensive.
Hey man, everytime you see a weight added on to a part (except brake discs and calipers), it’s almost always to cancel out some sort of NVH. I was blown away, when I found a 4 lb weight on a rubber mount directly on my diff, and my friend told me that BMW adds that to every car, because of some vibration at a very specific speed 🤣 it’s all just weight, no worries in deleting it!
Some cars use the abs sensor for speed! So if you delete them make sure you are good! If i remember correct e46 uses i think the right rear abs sensor for the speedo.
