Steve shares some of his favorite pieces of Halo memorabilia including his Master Chief Pez dispenser, a signed copy of Troy Denning's book Silent Storm and a life-sized plasma rifle.
Now I’m imagining John just showing off his knickknacks to awestruck houseguests. “And here’s the snow-globe I picked up at the gift shop when I went to Mars, a picture of me and the boys when we were given awards for saving a research station…”
I could listen to that voice all day. For my 18th birthday my Dad got me a cameo message from Mr. Downes and it blew my mind being a Halo fan since I was a kid. (Probably shouldn’t have been playing Halo as young as I was but I think I’ve turned out fine).
The fact that you realize you probably shouldn't have been playing those games at such a young age (even tho a lot of us did lol) means you turned out just fine. Sound like you have an awesome dad and 18th bday!
Same the only reason me and my brother got an Xbox was because we played halo ce at my cousins house and we begged for it lol we were only 5 and it became my most beloved franchise in gaming still is.
This is an injustice beyond comprehension. The man lends his legendary voice for a legend and he gets nothing in return? This better just be a case of them making him a personalized piece of merch so specific, it's just taking them a long time to make.
@@DGCpicturesEntertainment I think it's cause they signed it upside down, so he showed it off like that. Or he doesn't know which way is right up, which could also mean why they signed it that way too.
It saddens me that 343 hasn't given you any halo infinite memorabilia in recognition of all your amazing work :( A legend as great as the man himself deserves a face carving on Mt. Rushmore.
I love how invested Steve Downes has gotten into his character and into the universe of Halo. He reads some of the books and has collectibles. That is awesome.

Got my dad into Halo ever since I was 7 or 8 years old, and we've never been closer. He's read some of the books and has every game except the Halo CE for the original Xbox. Both our schedules are super busy & I know the old guy's exhausted at the end of the day, but when we both have some free time I try to play Halo MCC with him. It's never a disappointment and he's always having fun - even if we're losing. I love seeing the Mega Bloks Warthog on the shelf. I have one of my own, from attending PAX in 2011 when they did Halo Fest. Only 5,000 units made, and it looks so good on my Halo shrine in my gaming room. Easily one of my favorite items in my collection. The only way to make it even better is if it were autographed by the man himself.
I remember my brothers first mega bloks warthog... Got him the set with the white warthog, two spartans, and a ghost with an elite. Years later he accumulated too many more mega bloks warthogs to mention.
I started with 3 in 2007, but I was aware of Halo from before then. One day in 2013 my dad came home with *two* unopened copies of Halo 2 for the original Xbox, still in the cellophane wrapping. I'll always have nosalgia for Halo 3, but damn Halo 2/2A is my favorite in the series (if not, then it's definitely tied with Halo 3).
I still like CE best. I love the art style, (original, not remastered.) I love the story, and I love the music. all on top of that, it has the best, most fair gameplay balance of any halo game.
