    Welcome to Bowlers Paradise!
    Motiv FINALLY re-enters the pearl asym market with this all new Crimson Jackal. On the inside of this piece is the familiar Predator V2 core which has been the strongest core in their line since the original predator core was banned all the way back in 2016. However, on the outside is the all new Propulsion HV+ Pearl cover finished to motiv’s 5000 LSS finish. This cover takes what worked so well on the nuclear forge and juices it up to match up most effectively with the stronger core.
    For the layout I went with a 5.25x4x4 2LS layout which was great on both my Pride Dynasty and Storm DNA. With the issues i’ve had matching up layouts on some Motiv pieces, and especially the pearls, I wanted to go with a tried and true layout in the hopes of giving this Jackal its best chance to do what its designed to do.
    AND ON THE LANES… this Crimson Jackal is a huge leap forward for Motiv. The balance of core and cover strength is just on point, and creates a shape that is both effective in the midlane as well as sharp off the spot. As long as there was a bit of friction to use, the strong core ensures that the jackal slows down enough to shape the right way, then the responsive cover does its job to get off the end of the pattern and generate angle through the pins.
    But honestly, my favorite part about this piece is that it harkens back to some great pieces in Motiv’s history. It wasn’t long ago that Motiv pieces were keeping up with the evolution of bowling balls, but in the last few years the pearl releases lost a step and couldn’t stand up to the other brands. This all new jackal takes no prisoners and can stand up with the strongest pearls from all of the brands, and that kind of performance is very welcomed and I can’t wait to see how the translates across their entire lineup.
    But if your game is conducive to throwing it slowly and spinning it fast, pairing this Crimson Jackal with a Black Venom and Raptor Fury could be a killer three ball arsenal. The choice of which one to use would be almost entirely dependent on how much oil is on the lane, and the Raptor would be the strongest front to back, the Black Venom would be that versatile benchmark style piece, and then it would all come together with the Jackal as the lanes dry out.
    Jumping to our cross brand comparisons, I first took a look at the Exotic Gem from Roto Grip which, on paper, looks like there is a lot of overlap, but the eye test proves that wrong. The Exotic Gem is significantly more forward off the spot and there is much less responsiveness to friction. The exotic is a better option when you need a piece to clear the fronts, but still have a controlled reaction downlane, where the Jackal is more effective at opening the lane up and creating angle.
    Then for the second comparison I grabbed the Violent Collision from DV8 and this is when I knew that the Jackal could keep up with any pearl on the market. The Violent Collision has been one of the best pearls since its release, and there is a ton of overlap between this one and the Crimson Jackal. The additional games on the violent have caused it to be a bit cleaner, so I would imagine that as you throw the Crimson a bit more, you’ll see a shape very similar to what I have out of this one from dv8.
    But with that, here’s my recommendations on types of bowlers that I think would match up well with this piece. The first is two handers. The combination of midlane roll from the core and pop off the end of the pattern is one where the combination of high ball speed and rev rate we typically see out of a two hander will cause this piece to shine on both house and sport conditions. What’s more is these players should be able to adjust the surface to even out the reaction, but still trust their rev rate to get the corners out.
    The second recommendation is for Motiv fanatics. I know that the guys and gals who are in that Motiv brand tribe are exceptionally loyal and really enjoy most releases from the Muskegon Orange M, but this one is a must have for those folks. It’s too good not to have in the bag with the other new pieces from Motiv so even if you’re not in the market for a new piece right now, this one should be the next one on your motivated list.

    First off I want to say thank you Ben. I followed in your 2LS with the Black Venom and today for league I actually got my first ever 300. I appreciate every review and looking forward to either the new jackal or raptor for my next ball. I truly hit bowlers paradise today 😂😂😂

    The Crimson Jackal is AWESOME! I'm an old 2 hander, and all you need to do is get this ball rolling on the lane. The weight block takes over from there! I threw a 706 on my first league night with it.

    Fairly new to bowling, in my second season in league. I throw thumbless one handed because its more comfortable to me and was in the market for a stronger ball and took the chance with the crimson jackal. My average is only 143, but so far my first 6 games with this ball I have averaged 189 and got my first 600 series. Look forward to breaking it in and learning how to throw it better to step my game up.

    I waited to see this ball reaction and decided to go with a Virtual Energy Blackout instead. Super happy with that.

    I recently started bowling on a consistent basis and currently using a supra rally. The rally is great but im looking to add something a bit stronger. Do you think the crimson jackal would be a good recommendation? Ball launch speed is around 20-22 mph with a 325ish rpm and play on a main street 7241 pattern normally.

    Gotta say, I love your reviews and how you suggest who would match up with each piece.
    As a 2 hander who already has a Black Venom, this is definitely going to be my next ball. Hopefully it looks as nice for me as it does for you.

      How do you like the black venom? I am looking to get my 2nd strike ball. Using a 14 pound summit now and I like it. Ive been looking at this crisom J or Black Venom

      @@danielweisman6764 It's a great benchmark piece. It's good on fresh oil but it really comes alive once the lanes start to transition. It just kind of blends everything out and gives you a smooth and predictable reaction regardless. Motiv says it's really round and early but it's actually a little bit more snappy off the friction than I anticipated. You can sand it down to make it rounder though with your Summit I actually think this is the perfect compliment as it is OOB.
      Best part is it doesn't really change with lane shine. It's already at 4000 grit.

      Thanks for detailed answer. Do you think the Crimson jackal would be better strike ball to get over the black venom if I’m using the summit and which one would you start in a house shot league first of the night? I’m new to Bowling competitively but I’m not too bad. I can pull over 200 and can average around 175 but I’m inconsistent.

      @@danielweisman6764 check out his video on the ebonite emerge and the section of it in his nest league ball video. I was in between these as well but got the emerge to try evonite. Out of box might be the best league ball I've ever thrown.

    This new ball from motiv is cool. I have a jackal ghost and it's my favorite ball but at times it's too strong and really forces me left. Is this a ball up or a ball down from the ghost ?

    • @bowlersparadise2255
      @bowlersparadise2255  5 місяців тому

      Its not really a ball up or down per se, rather its a lateral move. Its going to cover a similar number of boards but in a different way. If you want a true ball down off the the ghost, the primal shock or the nuclear forge would probably work better.

    I am sorry for not understanding, but I thought strong balls were better for Med / Heavy oil but this review says better when starting to dry out? Isnt this a very very strong Asym ball that will take off on the dry?

    • @bowlersparadise2255
      @bowlersparadise2255  5 місяців тому

      This piece will allow you to open up your angles as you have to move inside and cover more boards. It's still a "heavy oil" ball, but heavy mean fresh.

      @bowlersparadise2255  5 місяців тому

      Teaching the way I throw the ball isn't something I'd recommend to anyone really. Its a product of years of tinkering with bad decisions, but ultimately, if you don't want to use your thumb, throw 2 handed. It's easier and safer for your wrist/shoulder.
