Testing the Redesigned Blaz'n Grill Works Direct Sear Kit

Blaz'n Grill Works (Beatrice, NE) recently released their new Direct Sear Kit for their Grid Iron and Grand Slam pellet smokers. Comprised of a heavy-duty redesigned drip tray, hopper-side heat shield, and removable cover, it also comes with a set of three GrillGrates and the GrillGrate cleaning tool.
Is it worth the investment? Yup ... and then some.
