Here in M'sia there is a young artist/ singer who looks and sings exactly like the former ever famous Malaysian actor/ singer/ film director named P. Ramlee who demised way back in the 70's.
Malaysians especially the Malays adore P. Ramlee's films, songs, film script, philosophy which are evergreen till today...
So when there was this young artist who looks and sings exactly like P. Ramlee, it was like a comeback of the late P. Ramlee. The Malays are extremely happy as though P Ramlee is here again to entertain them as they missed him very much. This artists sings exactly like P.Ramlee and he is much much appreciated. He always get alot of invitations for performance..
Allah is Great the all Mercy, the all Passionate.. He gives us what we have missed and adored so much..
He has given the P. Ramlee substitute in Malaysia and...
He has given the Mohd Rafi Sahab substitute in India...
I deeply feel we should appreciate this young Rafi..give him time, he will excell in his singing..give him support..he is still too young to sing exactly like Mohd Rafi..but I feel he is already singing about 80% already...

I am so happy and truly proud of Kerala and it's music industry who respects Mohammed Rafi just not by words but by actions. The way they have shown thier love and respect for the legend is truly commendable. The whole country, specially Bollywood, must learn from Kerala what it means to respect the legend and learn from his songs. This says how thoughtful and serious they are to carry the legecy which Rafi Sahab has given to us. My big respect and salute to Kerala Music Industry.

It is because so many different elements of perfection go into a genius like Rafi sa'ab, and a few others, it is virtually impossible to ace all of those especially the non technical aspect of

Rafi is very popular in old generation but he is a very young boy. He should decide whether he wants to create his own name or he wants to follow Rafi. He should know the stories of those singers who followed some great singers and lost in the dust of time.
Seems like Rafi sahib is very popular in younger generation too and many generations to come.but we need new talent not capitalizing on copying the masters.This singer should find his own way of singing or wont be successful.
It’s a superstition that Rafi will be popular in the generations to come. No body can be beyond time. There was a time when Sehgal was considered to be popular for all generations to come. But now he has the status of a glorious past only. Mukesh Pankaj Mallik and so many other singers copied Sehgal at that time but only Mukesh could survive because he found his own originality. The names of others lost in the dust of time. Why anybody should fear to say that the present generation is more and more intelligent than the singers of the glorious past of the music industry.

lilak001 It’s just a myth brother. No singer or music is immortal. Rafi was out of limelight during his lifetime itself. During the mid seventies itself no one wanted to listen to Rafi and everyone was crazy about Kishor Kumar and RD Burman.

But Of course his voice reminds us of Rafi sahib.His voice is very good. He is young, as he practices and concentrates, his own voice will be projected in his singing. Actually for keralites to pronounce urdu or Hindi words is quite difficult. But yet he sings so very well. Old Hindi songs are melodious and beautiful , lndian music is reflected in these songs. If young singers of today's follow such songs, one should welcome and encourage them and boost their confidence.
