some strats are so good you need your enemies to actually be good at the game (like the iana bait) but sometimes you just need a strat that is so oblivious and dumb that no one will think about it
The thing that annoys me in high level play of any game is people settle into a meta and think nothing else works. I remember that time CS:GO players moved to a different gun because one dude went "hey wait a minute, this gun is really good" even though it hadn't changed for 3 years. I'm a fan of "play what you think is fun/cool and optimize that", even if it's not what high level players consider the best. One of the reasons trap operators like frost and kapkan are so fun is that every tier of player plays differently. Plats fall for different frost mats than coppers, but diamonds sometimes fall for copper frost mats in the middle of hallways or rooms. And it's GREAT. Also smurfing isn't cool. I appreciate that these dumb strats were used at high level play instead of some jerk playing against lower level or new players. I've seen so many people who are "copper" but they aim like pros, and it's just not healthy. Hope they implement a machine ID ban system or something.
Ahh, yes. the SG553/AUG meta. The gun has been really good for around a decade but people refuse to use it because of their fragile ego. Until valve reduce the price a bit, then it got nerfed and got their prices back up. Also the shotguns (esp the XM1014) is a good weapon since release but it finally got the attention in cs2.
This reminds me of something my friend told me. He said that grand masters in chess hate playing against newbies because they have no strategy, so it's nearly impossible to predict what they might do. If you don't know what your doing, your opponent can't know what your doing.

I have a strategy I made up myself called “the plop”. I play Valkyrie, place her cameras in very discrete places in rooms around the bombs where the enemy team is likely to breach, then run to a room where I can hide (preferably quite far away from the bomb site). I wait until the enemy team breaches and executes, and by that time I’ve flanked them and either killed all of them or miss all of my shots an die.
The thing is that Coppers use the operators creatively. As people get better and move up they abandon the creativity for more "meta strats" when those are easily countered. While low skill on the fly thinking is the bane of high skill players
This is almost like when you have cases of new chess players either getting really close or outright beating masters and Grand Masters (not common, but there are a few documented cases). The whole reason why they end up winning is because these Masters and grandmasters are trained to recognize patterns and possible outcomes to said patterns. So when a beginner plays a move that they would have never expected anybody to play, or one that a computer wouldn't think is a good move, they just simply don't have the training to understand to recognize that specific pattern, and how to beat it

unpredictability is your greatest wepon, it is in everything, I'm a fencing and its harder to fence noobs than it is someone at your own skill level because you never know what their going to do
I’m a professional copper 5 and here are my 2 simple (almost) fool proof kapkan strats: place your mines on the side of doorways opposite to where people look in from when entering. People will look into the big area of the room to check for enemies and not off to the other side of the door and thus walking straight into the trap. The opposite strat is putting a mine at the exact same level as another on the same doorway. Players who are observant will shoot one, thinking it’s safe but behold: the other trap is there waiting. Best if paired with a barricade so they get even more distracted.
If you know the strategy, then you should always go directly against it. Why push that angle and die when you could flank from a spot no one has ever used?
I just started r6 a few days ago and my strat with ela is just throw prox mines in areas where I believe someone would enter, basically like kapkan except I can place kapkans everywhere(but instead with the intent to kill them, it helps me figure out where enemies are
I think what people don’t understand is that when normal people fail, and ask what they could improve, the first thing you think is the choices you made. So coppers who have bad aim and bad game sense actually think about their strats more
The thing about being so smart and knowledgeable about the game is that you expect your enemy to be the same way and use your similar tactics. Nobody expects you to break in THAT window, nobody expects you to pick THAT op, nobody expects you to peek THAT angle. And so you surprise them.
Thermiting a window is actually brilliant. Players rely on sound cues and hearing the Thermite makes them look at walls that are about to be breached, not windows. The sound directs them away from where you are. No sane human being is going to hear thermite and go "well he's coming through the window"

Bruh I swear the dumbest plays work because experienced players never expect such a bad play that it just catches them off guard
I always tell new player and people who aren't confident "if you can't outsmart them you gotta outstupid them"
As a copper who is hot dogshit at this game and gets cussed out multiple times a day, I can confirm that we have the silliest strategies.
Im in copper and just lost a game because someone was just destroying team gadgets and doing nothing else
unpredictability is your greatest wepon, it is in everything, I'm a fencing and its harder to fence noobs than it is someone at your own skill level because you never know what their going to do
Our strategies are good. Our aim and map knowledge is bad.
THE. COPPERS. ARE. COOKING.
kaid/goyo's shotgun is also a good pick due to its long range, kaid is more preferred because of his pistol though
I have never watched a video because of a short but that was actually an interesting premise so here I am
If you know the strategy, then you should always go directly against it. Why push that angle and die when you could flank from a spot no one has ever used?
The freezer strats for when the hostage is in freezer, doesn’t do much otherwise
Standing in Copper 3 I’m happy to see someone do these
Alot of these are old and effective strategies, feels good to know they still kinda works
I just started r6 a few days ago and my strat with ela is just throw prox mines in areas where I believe someone would enter, basically like kapkan except I can place kapkans everywhere(but instead with the intent to kill them, it helps me figure out where enemies are
Video should be: Do copper strats work when you have champ game sense and aim?
