Philip Glass Etude No. 6

- Hello all! Here's the sixth etude by Glass, and of the ones I've played so far, I'd say it's the most exhausting to play! I really love the harmonic material in here, and the contrast between the dramatic, bombastic sections and the quieter, more chromatic sections in the middle. I hear most pianists play this piece a bit faster and a lot less pedal phrasing, but this is really how I hear this piece. I think it calls for smoother phrasing and enough time to hear the parts clearly. I hope you enjoy my interpretation!

Finally I can see the fingers he uses. Thank you very much for posting this so useful video
Wow brilliant skill and sound👍❤️
Thanks so much!
exceptional version, I love this pace a lot more
Thanks very much!
That was a beautiful piece - hauntingly beautiful ending.
Thanks Giovanni!
First listening and it sounds already great! Well done Ryan!
Thank you :)
Only crazy people not love philip glass masterpieces
Oh cool it's not bad fingering, my hands just like to lock on the right hand of 2:40-ish 💀
Thank you for letting me see your hands for it 😭
Wonderful sir, wonderfully played. But why playing one note with one finger? Why not 3,2,1 🙂
Thanks! The fingering decision was actually the result of the action on my keyboard not being quite fast enough for 3,2,1 repeated notes. On an acoustic piano I'd play it that way but with this keyboard one finger was just the way it had to go :)
I neither like the 3-2-1 fingering on this, you lose the correct super strict pace, I prefer the nuances you get with only one finger
IMHO I think you have the speed just right.
Thanks, I appreciate that!
