I remember as a young lad being with my father in Coffs Harbour (probably 1947/8) outside the Coffs Hotel when a young man was singing and playing his guitar. I asked my dad who it was and he told mne it was Slim Dusty and that he was going to the the best. I can still visualise where he was standing. After that we listened on the old battery radio on the farm to 2KM Kempsey where he was played regularly. Miss him.
Good on u Jarrod!! Poor old slim ey? I'd sing his songs at pubs in the bush just for the fun of it. I sang one night in a pub in Dubbo and was stunned when a talent scout said u can really sing..
