I have the 16 bulb version and am quite happy using it daily at my security job. This light is more than bright enough to encourage various people of the night to move along. Like sunshine to a Vampire lol.

I bought a flashlight like this a few years ago on Amazon, just a different brand name. It was advertised as probably 5000 lumens, but was not even close to that. It was 1000 at the most. I was going to return it, but only paid about $15.00 and it was actually a good light for that price. Almost all of these off brand name lights on Amazon advertise greatly over inflated lumens to sell their product. You just have to know what you are buying and do not pay too much for them.
I’ve had two of those flashlights for years and they are fantastic. They light up my paddock and light up the bush for a very long distance.
You should try lock the exposure on your camera next time. Or install an app that allows you to do it, like Open Camera or some other app that has manual settings.
This way the camera will not adjust the brightness.
That light is capable of 900 lumens perimeter if you have quality high drain batteries. I bought three of these one lasted one week one lasted one year and the other one is going on three years. Eventually the contact will wear out. Those Batts are 500mah and not enough amp for the light. It's a bit of a Gamble but with Good batteries I definitely do recommend

Made in Japan 18650 Panasonic batteries are 3600 mAh at most (I bought mine 3400mAh on ebay and they are great - $4.50 apiece). These 6000mAh Gabriel batteries are made in China. Real capacity is probably 2000mAH at most.

I have the 16 emitter version and think it's great. Very solidly built and awesome bang for the buck. It is actually my wifes light now - she likes the simplicity and easy to use E-switch. Great feel and nice broad beam with lots of flood. Very cool color temp - looks to be around 7000K. It doesn't heat up as fast as my ThruNites, but it will eventually get hot on the high setting. I estimate around 3000 lumen on high. Excellent for around $31.
Hi, you seem to know quite a bit about the flashlight, do you know if it uses some kind of switching circuit to drop the voltage for the led or just a couple of resistors (aka the output power falls with the battery voltage)?

This light was tested it’s only 1500 Lumen but still very bright 😀
For the price it's actually good but you can get more for not much more and in a smaller package. Thrunite t1 same output and pocketable. This kinda seems like a q8/olight clone. But not bad for a fun decently bright flood light.
If this light is the same as HONRIYA 12t6 , then your calculations are very incorrect.
Easily the HONRIYA, at $30 puts out as much light as my AMERCIAN XHP70. It was advertised as 3200LM. The HONRIYA is close with a 3000 Real American lumens. 1500 is just very inaccurate, I’ve seen many 1500 lumen lights in the snow. And they are not even close to what this video shows,
Also keep in mind the video dims our most light at night, so it’s likely brighter in real life. Don’t believe me?
Head to amazon and type HONRIYA 12T6. Best $30 I’ve ever spent.
Thing is a beast with a 1200-1500 low
And 2700-3000LM high.
I have one of this with 9 leds. I compared indoor with a Fenix e28r - 1500 lumens and the Gibbon was a little bit brighter. Then I compared with Olight Freyr - 1750 lumens and the Olight was a little bit brighter. Then with Sofirn SP35 - 2000 lumens and Sofirn was brighter. Then with Fenix PD40R - 3000 lumens and the Fenix was brighter.
Liitokala 18650 are the best less expensive batteries. They always out perform what is written on the label. EBL brand is not bad for the price but I test around 2200 mAh on the 3000 mAh battery. Just about all the others are re-wrapped generic 1000 mAh batteries mostly used in garden lights, Bluetooth speakers and radios.

Not only are thoes batteries not 6000 mah but they probably won't be able to output a lot of amps as they are normally old recycled laptop cells with high internal resistance.
Not anymore. Most of these aren't reused cells but very cheaply made low capacity high internal resistance cells.
I got a DX80 $300+ something a few years ago. 13000 luminas. The same . i dunno if this competes? Saw this, nope! Mine will start a fire! But l love and collect flashlights. And l like this...

No, I disagree. All the Chinese lights that do come with batteries are the chintzy UltraFire, TrustFire garbage. Better to leave them out and just go and buy good quality Sanyo or LG cells rated for 10 amps or more.

I’ve always gone with the lower price tactical torches on Amazon (after doing my research). I’ve always found them to be very good. I got suckered in to the Fenix and Fenix style brand videos and have just taken delivery of a Fenix PD36R, E01 V2 and a Thrunite Archer 2A V3. To be honest. My cheap torches outperform these in terms of brightness and have similar functions. I have no idea re battery longevity. I live rurally but but I’m never too far from a power outlet or spare batteries. I don’t need this Gibbon, but I want one! I won’t be spending around £200 for a Fenix/Olight/Thrunite version!
the most a 18650 mah can handle is 3500mah and those are stupid expensive i'm talking about 30-40$ usd for 2(set) so 6000 is not possible with today's technology. even tesla batteries have at most 3200mah each cell so sorry to burst ya bubble good sir but it's a well known scam for those who aren't familiar with the subject. another youtuber did a test to see how much these scam batteries truthfully hold and they were in the 800-1200mah range. hate to see people get scammed but one less person that will spread misinformation.

I have the 16 LED model purchased 7 months ago and I run mine on Sony batteries using it for security patrol purposes. This flashlight is a stalwart of endurance outlasting a Haikelite Q30 and another EBay el cheap no name allegedly packing an XHP70.2 LEDs. Both failed miserably after 2 weeks but this tomato can keeps on ticking so far. Ive dropped it on concrete and granite with no undo effects. $28 was well worth the price but i do back my light game with an awesome Emisar D4.

Those batteries are 100% fake. In fact, they're probably way worse than you think! Mine have tested no more than 600mah. These are usually the rejects from the factory where the good ones are made. I build battery packs and if you want some good ones, salvage some from laptop batteries or something similar. They're usually brand name cells and are usually good even if the pack itself died.
Yeah those batteries not only don't have 1/5th the advertised capacity... They cannot deliver the current needed for that flashy.
That's just like my two flashlights, the Honriya & GiareBeam, same design just $2 dollars less.

They told you right. There is no chance those are 6000 mAh. You're lucky if they are 3500. Probably more like 2000
Dump those batteries and get and Nitecore button top 3500 mAh batteries. They are some of the best flashlight batteries on the market.
lol i finnaly had to take mine apart after 3 years of owning it lol but yeah this light is nice but its not that bright lol its around 2000 to maybe 3000 lumens tops with good batteries lol but yeah a wire came loose and i had to take it apart and solder it back on and its back working like brand new again lol so thanks for making this video even tho i seen it like 2 or 3 years ago lol but illl watch it again

That’s def not 10,000 lumens. My nitecore that takes 1 21700 battery is def brighter then this an I think it’s like 2500 lumens or something. But it was $100.

Every battery I ever got that was clearly lying have been about 1000mah or under and don't preform very well I'd definitely get some name brand and high output cells although the high output might not matter that much with just those xml leds

There's no way that's 10,000 lumens! My 700 lumens COAST flashlight is brighter than that, If not, it's just as bright!
Really no way you can tell how bright one is in a video unless there's another known brightness light in the video to see and compare it to because cameras automatically dim the lights when it's too bright. But you're probably right or close to it anyway if i had to bet. Be nice if he had something to compare it to though.
@@jackle842000 the cameras doesn't dim right away, you can see the brightness at first, then it dims down a little.
@@roypatterson9910 yes but even to start they are dim because there's a good portion that happens instantaneously before our eyes notice it but yes it doesn't LOOK it really and no 2 cameras are alike so to watch one video vs another is worthless.

torchlights flashlight you do not need buy get expensive one due to all flashlight are exactly same more higher lumen consume more battery power in the end the torchlights will get old stuff better chose cheap plug one lost or damage never felt sadly day or bad day just buy new one
