The dad was a selfish jerk. He doesn’t deserve to be called “dad”. He ignored his own son’s well-being and health then left him when he was at his lowest point. No kid should ever have to go through being neglected and abandoned by their own parents.

I'm very thankful I had two very supportive parents to get me through recovery! I honestly wasn't surprised that he revealed his true intentions. It was hurting to see how much of a jerk the dad was to him, and it's just as worse when the son got worse. It's so sad to see that he had to get his fingers and his leg amputated, but mainly it's because of that careless jerk of a dad. This goes to show that it's good to do sports, but if there's something wrong with the body, and if it's exhausted, that is more important at the moment. You need to take care of your body first, before you move on with doing what you love.

My grandpa got cellulitis pretty bad. He was a bigger guy and already was limited with his movement due to that + old age, so seeing that was heartbreaking. A nurse had to come everyday and take care of his leg & foot, sometimes twice a day. It was almost all gone until it came back in full force. I’m so thankful we had the resources to have a nurse come daily, I can only imagine the struggle for families who cannot. Sending all of my love and prayers to them ❤

He should have listened to his mother not his stepfather, because he has been pushing him way too much to be a better soccer player, he has been ignoring his mother’s and doctor’s advice about the infection on his leg and hand, but when it got worse, they had to amputate his leg and fingers to save his life, and his father just walked away from his wife and son because he couldn’t take it anymore, I loved the way the story ended with his team winning the game and he talked to his father about be his manager, he already has a great manager, his mother, so that’s why he told him the truth, good job, Darren!

The expense of a child's life isn't measured by pressure and forcing them to reach limits that are in fact limitless; its measured by how much they complete and make our lives whole...despite their disabilities or other reasons. Never give up on them or stop being a parent to them, because just having them as our children is enough and a blessing.
