These 1970's wagons were stylish. Power steering a good choice especially with auto transmission. The HQ Holden was the most produced Holden and they are still still around today.
I just restored a 71 hq wagon, was handed down from my grandfather who bought it brand new. Stayed with the 202, runs like a dream and will one day be my sons car, hes only 2 years old 😉 never seen a yellow one.. looks great
Beautiful beautiful car I would love to get one I just turned 49 this month 50th birthday would be very cool. I'm not sure if our one was a 73 or 74 Kingswood sedan Dad bought it when mum was in hospital giving birth to me so us three kids could fit in a bigger car, was lime green with the cream upholstery and front bench seat. Excellent restoration Colin one of the best I have ever seen, love the fact you kept the original radio visible, fingers crossed I can find a similar car to buy when I move back to Australia next year. Will be great to drive and relive the memories and remember such a great childhood camping in New Zealand. It definitely needs the original roof rack on it as the final touch, maybe a 1970's longboard as well during the summer months.
My Grandfather drove a Kingswood Station Wagon for 30 years until his ailments were overwhelming and had to change vehicles for power steering.
He's in Heaven now enjoying going on Sunday drives in his Kingswood enjoying paradise with Nanna.

@@ParekhsClassicAutomobiles Just did, my family lives it. My uncle did some digging and found out my Grandfather's Kingswood is still on the road in the ACT.
I hope one day it may return back to my family and get restored and kept as a Collectable vehicle to be displayed at Vehicle shows after the Pandemic is over.
give it to the grand kids, leave a legacy. beautiful car
What a great car. I relate so much to his story, bringing back the car from his youth and how he articulated it. Well done.
used to see a heap of these in the late 90's now all gone, great to see 1 again
These were everywhere when I was a kid in the 80s, Remember going on a 4 hour road trip with a mate as a kid we were in the back section the whole way.
These holdens were the backbone of Australia back in the 70's
This is a guy who is very proud of his car. good on him, its a beauty
Great car looks like new I had a HQ sedan when I was young yes great car you got there Kingswood they were great cars and still are cheers for sharing 👍
brings back lots of memories
I gave the video a like, which was #202 which I thought was ironic. My first car which I bought in 1987 was a '71 HQ sedan with a stock single exhaust 253. Loved that car and wish I didn't sell it. I'll have to come down to your next event and have a look. Great resto by the way👌
The quintessential Aussie family wagon
My first car was an HQ wagon. Brown with saddle interior.
yeah, the wheels really do suit it. very nice
Cool tail gate window

Love the colour.
Great sounding 202
Love the tailgate. I remember those fondly. Great vid.
We had a 74 Holden Kingswood station wagon just same as this when we travelled around OS in 91, it was also a 3.3 straight but had extractors, REL 151, think it may have been scrapped sadly, lovely car first time I drove an auto actually. Neil. UK
Beautiful condition
great colour, lucky you were able to recreate your lovely old car
Love it, sounds so good, and that tailgate reminds me of the 70s
sad that the when a car gets old, it looses it value, but when it gets older, the value increases, how ironic. cool car btw.
Great Sound
