IMO ... frame geometry is the most important feature ... The new bike has newer mountain bike geometry ... the older bike is more road/off-road (bike path) geometry
Glad the mail arrived safely, just a heads up that was just a prototype lol its been redone and I think you'll love it, so be expecting some more mail from me in the next week and a half. And thanks for the shout out lol 😆
Man thank you!! Picked it up today and will be opening on or next mailtme:) SO EXCITED!! Now it will not be this FRIDAY but the next, thanks again for everything and looking forward to seeing it;)
Want to get into MB on a budget. What Bike can I start with and be able to upgrade slowly. You touched on it a little but can we get a video on a few different choices. Thanks
Depends on what sort of trails you have around you to start with. The Ledge X1 is a good starter bike for nearly anything other than Black trails and up. Not sure about jump trails as I don't like to jump >.< but you can upgrade that over time and end up with a nice bike in the end.
@6k613- For sure man well have you watched the schwinn VS schwinn X5 vid? It kinda gives an idea and pint values for different schwinns. Maybe look at the Al comp??
UA-cam's lustiest tangiest MTB'g duo. You guys are hillarious! My 3 for the XR1 are the look, the geometry, and the 1x. I would seriously consider upgrading this bike from the hubs up.
Isn't there a ledge x2 29er now with a free hub. I think a great way to look at is if you could buy either as just a frame which would you buy? For me it's the x1. Shame we can't get one here in the Uk
Yes sir, it apparently has a freehub, but the site still says freewheel!! LOL But man the way you pour it is great and that being said I would pick the LEDGE!!!! Thanks man:) and yes such a BLOODY shame!!!
watching your video and you doing the ? was going ask you to do me me a solid you said you going to get started on tearing the mongoose XR PRO for a rebuild upgrade. If you doing a compele tear down could weight just frame only? the reason I thinking the frame alone weight in between 5 to6 pounds range. which here most of the weight come from. will be glad too known what you find out KK THX YU.
Man f we were doing an all at once we will:) Not sure if we are going to though, but I can see a 7lbs frame??? If we do we will for sure do you a solid:)
I've got an XR-Pro, but I got it before I knew anything about mountain bikes. I'm just starting to get into mountain bikes. When I bought it, I just knew I wanted a dual suspension bike with disk brakes, and it was the only one that Wal-Mart had with both. That said, I'm wanting to add a mid-drive ebike kit to mine. Any suggestions?
Guys, the wheels are aluminum. What your magnet is picking up is the steel wire bead of the tires. BUT X1 ALL day. The frame is the core..you can add parts but you cant upgrade frame geometry. Rear hub can replaced your self.Plenty of wheels spoking videos. Its really not as hard as you think. I replaced the hubs on the Ardor and it came out great. Love the videos..Always entertaining. #himalooooo!!
X1 Allday huh?? I could see that, the frame is sweet and you are correct about most stuff, gotta look at that someday:) Thanks for watching brother HIMALOOOO!!!
I finally took my stock X1 out for it's maiden trail voyage a couple of days ago. When putting it together I forgot to tighten the stem correctly and nearly hurt myself a few times. But my stem is now torqued to typical specs, but it still doesn't hold tight. I turned the bars to the right and wheel went left. It did it to me twice where it may have really gotten me hurt if I wasn't paying attention to it. It is now over torqued and I'm afraid of damaging the steerer or the stem itself if I tighten it even more. I can't change the front end out fast enough, and my new wheelset comes in today, so I can't wait. A few more paydays and a few more parts and she'll set sail again.
👍👍 He👍ll yeah man, good for you:) Keepon saving up and that thing is gonna SHRED!!! Hope it all goes well and so happy you were being cautious, that could f ended badly!!
Hey brother it is totally up to you and your style but here is what I rock on my GT, I love the fork and bar/stem setup+ 35mm really makes you feel the trails!! Good luck and here are some affiliate links man, thanks for watching and you know we have for review and rating vids!! LOL See you Tomorrow Suntour Epixon Epicon ebay.us/4tCoKz ebay.us/FNBOXE BOX 35MM Stem ebay.us/WE9KkO
Have you ever tried tightening the clutch you can take off the cover and tighten down the little screw which tightens it, keV Central Has a video on it
The new Mongoose ledge X2 was a little bit more pricier than the X1 but 29 inch quick release front and rear with the adjustable shock on the front the one by eight on the rear with 180 mm rotors front and rear but a new improved tire $498. If I remember right
"Tangy lemonade"? I need the proof;) I love that you're hooked on e-bikes already Wolf. Can't wait to see what kind of e-bikes you guys build for yourselves.
I don't know if you've noticed but the Ledge X1 frame has a kind of a enduro design and geometry. Lower seat tube and tighter frame tubing, more space between frame and front wheel and also slacker, especially compared to the XR Pro.
I’m debating too I was able to get a used Xr pro frame for 40 bucks this week but definitely like x1 I’m still try to see if either to build or just get a the new one
Wow I was literally just debating wich one to buy and searched ledge x1 vs xr pro. I didn't think there would litteraly be a video. Im currently walking 5 miles home in nyc after jumping my mongoose sturdy 27.5 off of a 6 inch curb and my swing arm snapped at the welds smh. Definitely getting the x1 and putting a 1000w rear hub motor on it. Same on the sturdy I just broke. Thank you for the information
Yes sir, sorry to hear you are walking:( I had to walk today as well after a flat in Hot Springs Arkansas;) lol. Thank you for watching and hope you continue to view brother. We have actually started upgrading the X1
Did you guys confirm the headset measurements? 44/55 or 44/56? KevCentral said he used a 56 for bottom cup. I have an old straight tube Manitou air fork that I'd like to use but it doesn't look like the straight tube adapter on the stock fork can be removed from the crown or at least I couldn't figure it out. I was wondering if I could simply use the sealed bearings and rings in the existing cups so I didn't have to press new headset cups because I don't have a removal tool or press. What are your thoughts?
We did not confirm it yet, we are not on the bikes upgrades yet and have not tore it down. Well I doubt you can use the eisting cups and mix in a sealed bearing set without changing out the entire headset. The bearings will not fit flush and nether will the crown race. Any bike shops around??
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Out of laziness I wanted the original BB cups to accommodate sealed bearings but no dice so I ordered a headset and pressed it myself. Clarified from Mongoose directly that the Headset is 44/28.6 x 56/39.8
Sure would man, some people like the Mullet effect and we actually still need to try that:) IT would be interesting on a 29" as opposed to a 275 rear and a 26" front:) Thanks man
I did the mullet thing this week. Made climbing on the XR Pro a pain (27.5x2.6 rear and 29x2.4 front). Vs. same section on 29x2.4 front and 29x2.2 rear or 27.5x3 (too wide, rubbing the fender) and 27.5x2.6 rear where climbing went well and ran fast.
Quick question do y’all think it would be possible to fit the xr pros pivot point on the ledge x1? from the video it looks like the xr pros pivot would allow room for a larger rear shock just curious because I ordered the dhm 190mm eye to eye and it looks like now that was a mistake
Man we hear that a 190 is WAY overboard!! No wonder:( I wanted t go that route as well....I believe they would be interchangeable but dont know if that would fix the problem man??
I think I’m going to just send it back and get the 165mm eye to eye and stop complicating things it’s just gonna take another two weeks before I can ride my bike again🤦🏼♂️
Personally I'd say the xr pro is better if you're never gonna upgrade it, but the ledge x1 definitely wins with the tapered headtube internal cable routing and better geometry. Also the ledge having pivot bearings instead of bushings means it'll be alot more sustainable down the road
After having both of mine now and having them both upgraded and on rides..... Ledge X1 for the Chicken Sendies guy! My big 3 things between the two 1. X1 just feels better for my body size 2. Tapered headtube 3. looks better (of course this one is 100% opinion lol)
I have had the XR Pro for a few years and have enjoyed it. I have changed out the cranks for some Raceface Ride XC cranks with external bottom bracket. I have Easton Monkey bars and Raceface lock-in grips. My favorite upgrade is a RockShox Monarch RL rear shock. I'm 6'0", and I feel like I'm "in" the bike rather than sitting on top of it. That's definitely a positive to me. I am thinking of getting a Suntour Epixon fork, but right now I am debating on continuing to upgrade the XR Pro or buy a new bike.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I feel like I waited too long to get the upgrades I wanted to do after I got the XR Pro. Now the choices of forks are slim due to the 1 1/8" head tube. I want a bike to take to downhill parks, but not a true downhill bike. I'm thinking of skipping a project all together this time and just getting a Trek or Norco complete. Of course, that's based on availability. The bike shop is telling me they don't have any idea when they'll get something from Norco. I like the Ledge X1. I heard the frame is the same as the Ledge X2 29er other than color. Maybe I'll get a Ledge X1, buy a good tapered fork, and throw some 29" wheels on it.
I like the Ledge X1 more. Better geometry, you can put in a tapered or straight fork (with adapter), Personally prefer 27.5 over 29, 1-by driveset, Better handlebars and stem, internal routing. 2.6" tires. Color is also gorgeous. When decent intro full suspension bikes like the polygon T7 or Vitus Mythique VRS are $2000 right now, there's as lot of room for a decent budget build in-between. Start with the $400 Ledge X1, and upgrade the fork and rear shock. Maybe a few cheap things for points of contact too, like grips, pedals, and seat. That gets you to a good full suspension bike for like $700. Ultimately, what matters at the end of the day is the frame, and the XR Pro is just missing a few items the Ledge X1 has that can't be added later, like the internal routing, better geo, and tapered headtube. Now, if Mongoose released a Ledge X3 with boost spacing in the rear, with a thru-axle, I'd buy it in a heartbeat to upgrade with quality, non-budget components.
Ledge-X1 Not everyone has $$$ to up grade and it's better equipped so the ledge is better in that regard. It looks better as well... Another fantastic episode Stay frosty brother
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS well...I have a much older school original rigid forked Specialized Rockhopper and with 175mm cranks... I put a Rockshox Recon (to keep my rim brakes) and I did a cheap guys 1x conversion....on that bike.... and this Walgoose had my shoe half ripped off under the pedal with a smaller crank arm length. So after realizing after watching your vid that these wheels are part of the heavy accessories that need to be reduced... gonna keep the 27.5 in the back...but gonna try to get a 29er fork (which in theory will raise the front end up a tad more) allowing less toes trying to do forward rolls under the pedals. So I may just keep the bars and cut them down. And the rear suspension I'm torn between the KS and the DNM.... it may be a bit before it can happen. Also...the pedals I got from Wal-Mart sucked. They look like a flat fookerish pedal...but the pegs to keep the shoe on...break off. They were less than 20..so not a huge expensive lesson learned... My old school 26er is SO much easier to bunny hop and jump...and taking the behemoth Walgoose around had me rethinking the purchase... I flipped the bike upside down and there was so much play and noise in the fork when holding the grips to the floor and twisting the front wheel directionally... Keeping my eyes open for deals I cannot pass up.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS was also wondering if there was a way to get more suspension out of that back end... also wanna find the quietest hubs (whether freewheel or cassette doesn't matter) I am not a fan riding and hearing all the noise of the chatter of the bike and not the noise of the trail and woods....
Been trying to decide on changing the hubs out on the Ledge or a new wheel set. Now that I know the rims are steel, easy decision! The Xr Pro was my first big box bike that started my crazy addiction to budget bike builds. However I do think the upgraded geometry, tapered head tube and internal cable routing on the Ledge make it a better platform to upgrade. Thanks for the video WolfTick 🤘
Fro sure man, we agree:) Now the Wheelset we showed on the last Mailtime was pretty cheap and light:) May otta take a look, but we do have to take another look at the rims, everyone says they are aluminum but I seriously doubt it, you seen the way that magnet grabbed!!
Yes. We always weigh the bikes complete in the beginning. We will weigh it in the future after some upgrades without it though. She is a heavy girl but a fun bike.
I just got the Ledge X1 and already starting changing stuff out. Pretty simple to do and I think it's gonna ride great. Only problem I say is the freewheel... It's so frustrating especially now that every single bike part is either on back order or it disappears so quickly that you can't even order it...
Man that is awesome!! The bike seems to be a great platform. Yes since ti is a freeewheel it is a BUMMER!! If you watched our last Mailtime segment we did get a great deal on a 27.5 wheelset!! Here is an affiliate link:)ATB Wheelset + WTB Riddler Tires amzn.to/3CfGZkp
Thanks for the tip! I also saw on another channel that the Ledge X2 is essentially X1 but with 29” wheels. Any thoughts on maybe doing a 29” wheel swap or go mullet?
Actually were talking about that today, not interested in doing it to the ledge yet, but maybe the ARDOR!! I love both sizes for different reasons, the ledge X fits me too good lol
Agree with wolf on the dropper with it right under the seat and be done with it. Y'all should order one like that and do a review on it cause I know they make them and am curious how well it works
If I was buying a bike to upgrade hands down the Ledge X1 only because of the tapered head tube which gives me a lot more choices when it comes to mid range to high end forks. Right away I would upgrade the wheelset to something lighter and stronger that has a free hub. If I was on a tight budget but wanted a full suspension bike then the XR Pro because no need to upgrade the wheelset since it already has a free hub and more than likely it is double walled aluminum plus easier to find a budget fork with a straight 1 1/8" steerer and it is easier to upgrade as you go with the XR Pro. With the Ledge X1 if I wanted to upgrade the rear derailleur and shifter I would have to change out the wheelset. On the XR Pro don't need to change out the wheelset to upgrade the rear derailleur and shifter.
Man that is a valid point, so cool we can talk about two $400 bikes like this and really tear into them. I can see the Ledg being a high favorite:) Thanks for watching brother.
Why not try microshift advent and Falcon 9 freewheel on the X1? I am putting that on with my 32t oval chainring and with just the chainring on the stock configuration it felt much better! I'd send it out but short on $ due to this bills lol
If I was in the market for a budget build, the Ledge X1. Tapered head tube means better fork options, 1x drive train, and 27.5 (I am a bit biased on wheel size because I have a plus hardtail)
18kg the x1 damn, i didn't realise how bad it was stock !! also i think the taper making the ledge more expensive to upgrade isn't really true as you can run a headset for straight steerer forks. as a whole package the xr pro is pretty competitive (better fork, derailleur, wheelset) but the x1 frame is much better (so i'd go the ledge any day, and pimp it to the max !)
Measure the rear travels for both bikes. I measured 90mm for XR Pro. Don't have a X1 and X2 frame. XR Pro doesn't have any replacement parts by the way from Mongoose. Try to get the sleeve bearings and bolts and they were not only out of stock but they don't have a restock date. Measure it at rear shock length eyelet to eyelet and the reduce that distance by the stroke length and then measure the distances at the rear axle.
@Airhog Glider hahaha man Jeremiah don't know what you are talking about. He don't realize that you are calculating the travel. We are not that kind of channel and he hates math🤣. I try to get him to learn these things and he is not having it. Sorry man😆.
The XR is legendary, when the bike came out 10 years ago it was just about the only double suspension 29er under $3,000. 10 years later they're still relevant that says a lot. And the X1 I have to call it like I see it, it's a really nice $290 frame, with $10 worth of components. A ton of potential, but a long expensive journey to get there. Bang for the buck I think you'd be better off with the Mongoose Salvo if you could get your hands on one.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I'm on the fence with those name brand e-bikes. They're too worried about the legality, and not worried enough about giving the customer what they want. The e-bike you already own is putting out minimal double the power.
Interesting comparison. Understanding there is a significant number of XR Pro fans out there, it makes sense to compare the two. A interesting comparison would be to match the X1 to the baseline of a well equipped Ledge 3.5. if interested give me a shout. I can share the build on my (not so budget), modified Ledge 3.5. Not a lot of info out there, but it was a great platform for my entry into bike builds. BTW...Keep up the great work. ABZS-
👍 Man well thank you for the offer brother, the bikes def needed to be out head to head:) Next week we got the Ledge Test Track!!! See you then and thanks again:)
I love seeing Wolfman on an e bike but my favourite thing is when he's had enough and just zooms off into the distance 😂😂 To be honest, I can't choose between the two bikes as they are, they both have good and and points... That said, fully upgraded ledge would do it for me. Really interesting discussion points chaps, great video as always Have fun and stay safe 😎👍🍺
LOL I knew you liked that part the most!!! HA HA %100 agree with the Ledge man, it is a sweet A$$ Bike! So glad you you enjoyed the discussion and scientific analysis of the entire operation (wink, wink)
Time to compare the Ledge X1 (27.5) vs Ledge X2 (29). Looks like the X2 has the "wants" the X1 was missing. BTW what is that name/model of plastic mesh saddle? You said it was surprisingly comfy
LOL Cool man and sounds like a plan!! Now the seat is surprisingly comfy and I think it looks cool;) heres an affiliate link brother, thanks man! Also thanks for checking out some older footage as well:)amzn.to/3APnIF6
You should do a review on a dnm shock, specifically something like the DNM Burner-RCP 2S. I would be really curious how a cheap shock that offers lots of adjustment lastes over extended use. It seems like some people say they are good, and some people say that they leak oil going over the first drop. I can't find any reviews on UA-cam about them, which is why I thought I might as well mention it here :) thanks
Well man, we did just install and do a short Realtime Review on a different model DNM rear shock. Not sure how it will hold up over time but thanks and here is the video: ua-cam.com/video/vJZwvkxV8FI/v-deo.html
Shout-out to Aunt Eva, wooo! I think if I was mainly riding rutted trails with no jumps I'd go with the XR Pro, if I was riding faster rolling trails with some jumps, berms and fun features then I'd go with the ledge. There's some 4 piston brakes and a set of bars headed your way. Keep shredding guys😎🤙
Man I agree %100, really has been the best write up thus far:) The ledge is a BLAST to ride!! Thank you for the Coffees brother and we are very very excited for these braes and bars you speak of!! BERSERKER NICK!! Much love HOMIE!
Really?? Man we have got to get you going! Ma what a bummer:) Appreciate you checking in on it man, I looked and I will keep an Eye out, next design we will be sure to see if it will come in a "fat kid" size;)
Internally routed dropper soooo much cleaner and better - it takes some time to figure out the routing but after a few installs you will get the hang of it.
Haha now you just gotta pick up the X2 if it's even remotely still in stock lol. They go so quick! I'd like to see it against the X1 too! Great video as always guys!
I love MTB 5 months ago I was 325 lb I'm now 220lb ( I had a lot of free time ) I took my old Mongoose Blackcomb full suspension and started riding The roads out my rural area. 45pound bike and pretended it was a road bike 55 56ish pounds with my light setup and other things did about 30 miles a day 25 mi on road up every hill I could find and the last 5mi on our property on 4 wheeler trails. I love that bike I know it's not the greatest but it's changed my life unfortunately it is completely wore out 😂😂. Bitching but not bitching about it That old bike I got new years ago is special to me so don't really want to change it but because of my fitness Level increase I'm looking to upgrade bicycles and those are the two that I've been eyeing lol eventually I will get one. But I get to get 3 new bikes for my kiddos first. Cool thing is is they've gotten into it with me too which is the most awesome part
Man what an inspiring story man:) That is too cool, what a great way to exercise and get some weight shedded off!! Also nice job getting them kids into something outdoors!!! Rock on and thank you for watching brother, welcome to the #wolfticknation
Gotta love the partial Internal routing on the ledge , but you can get a 9s threaded freewheel to get better gearing to keep it super budget in first year, but pay 100 more and get cassette for the X2 just out on Walmart's website! exact same frame with 29ers instead.
They both look like what you get for the price. If I had to choose I would go with the mongoose because single sprocket, inner cables & bigger tires but I don't like the color.
Agree man, they obviously have a lot of good pros and cons, I too am a fan of the Ledge, but the Xr pro is really a great capable starter bike for someone looking to make slow changes throughout:)
I am not a fan of internal routing, but for dropper it makes sense. But alot of internal routing is bad, some are done well, and don't make noise, or hard to chnage cable, but some are tricky.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS my previous bike, 2014 Trek Fuel ex i had to use internal routing kit from Park Tool, it's an expensive kit, I used magnet for the internally routed wire, for some reason only gear wire was internally routed, and the cable at chainstay i had to move into the chainstay which is tricky, and us epic and try toget it out to the rd hanger, rediculous routing. But dropper was on top of downtube then into seat tube. I prefer how my new bike is, all external apart from dropper post, but that is easy, just get vale into downtube and move it in and it will find its way.
I'd go with whichever bike fits the best and feels most comfortable as long as it was the Ledge lol. I had so many issues ordering it I finally gave up and ordered the X2 instead.
HA HA We feel ya man! Hope you can get it and not a notice saying it was out of STOCK!! BTW Thank you for sending us the email man, way to loo out SLOTH!
XR Pro is back and the X1 is sold out, but they both went up in price, XR Pro is now $498 but back in stock. Ledge X2 looks really sweet, putting my XR pro up for sale to get one. same price as the XR
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS oh hell no! I didn't want that tank as my next GT! But the new GT Force carbon is out now after being test ridden in Italy at the World Cup races that just ended. 5grand USD just for the frame! But! I did start drooling over the Rockshox PIKE front fork that comes stock with the bike. Lol
I'm not thinking I'm going for it. When you drive a car that is worth less than your bike. Lol. Nah. But I'm still looking for a carbon frame. One if these times i should weigh my verb sport. It feels lighter. New XT Wheelset is on the way! Should be good i hope???
I personally like the look of the XR-Pro, and the up to date features on the Ledge. The Ledge just looks too "youthful" to me. The XR-Pro has more of a mature and stealthy appearance. And that's the thing with Pacific Cycle; they'll never give you everything you want in a bike. There's always something you're not gonna like that you can't easily change.
Absolutely agree, the xr pro is more of an old-school sleek looking ride. It is not totally my style but a fun and very popular bike. Wish they made a WOLFTICK BIKE!! LOL
Please review Wolftick video , there is a new 27.5 in suspension fork from amazon its called “felice rc pro” model fork. Im looking for fusion rc32 vs this felice rc pro dual air suspension. Please help me to decide , Thank you and more power to the Channel! Shout out to Tander Braders xc riders from Toronto, Canada!
If you're looking to build a trail bike or electric mountain bike then the Ledge, If you're looking for one bike that can do everything well, l then the XR Pro, it's more of a hybrid, it's surprisingly fast on the flats, but with the write components very capable on the trails.
They very quickly released The ledge X2 with quick release front and rear, 29er and free hub. Granted it’s $100 more but fixes a lot of the things wrong with the X1.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I just watched a review from another UA-camr that you are familiar with that said both frames are identical specs so the X1 could be upgraded to a 29er. He compared the frame specs by side by side. The things different were based around the fork specifically. Sounds like you could go that route if you wanted.
I like the X1 like you said the way it rides and looks and I like the fat tires and smaller guy's I think 29" tires are to big for them, I don't believe the X1 wheels are steel... are those going to be weaker or stronger than aluminum? Also You say the X1 tires lose grip after a few rides and I am wondering... here me out, I have a pretty big RC channel also SHEN RC and I know that coating the rubber car tires with a light coat of WD40 and letting it dry in makes most all rubber tires grip much much better so I am wondering if you gave the X1 tires a light coat of WD40 with a brush and let it dry in if it would make them grip any better? another great video.
Man we gotta get down to really looking at them:) I think they are but.....we could be wrong?? also WD40?? Hmmm, that may be the next BIG thing!! Not too sure on that man:) May have to try
I would get the mongoose and swap the fork with a Marzocchi bomber z1, the crank ixf, wheels NS enigma hoops, Shimano diore drive train including rear hub.
Kick Rocks! lol Il take tapered all day bc for me its hard to get parts for bikes bc nothing is available but its easier to get a tapered fork locally. I wont lie I hate the orange mongoose logo but that's just bc I'm a graphic designer by trade with a masters typography and that kind of stuff irks me more than the average person lol
LOL Told you you were going to love it!! LOL The tapered headtube is sweet and just the overall geo, I agree with you man:) And the decals are needing to be gone!! Very cool you are a graphic designer! Did not know that:)
Man one of these days you have to get yourself a trek Roscoe secondhand off offer up or something. You say you like the plus tires that bike is a dream. I just got a 2021 Roscoe 7 for $600 on offer up which puts it right around the top end of the bikes you get now
Sorry pops, gotta agree with Jeremiah on this. From the video If he's take a wide turn and pointing right, you were suppose to go to the right in front of him. I do the same thing to my kid lol
@javier guerrero haha well just so you know Jeremiah was supposed to be leading me because he knows the trails😂. All of that, he wanted to get footage of me was total 🐴💩.🤣 Thanks man👍

I just did a terrible job stray painting my Stumpjumper and I have you bucklos forks coming in the mail today hopefully
😂😂🤣🤣 LOL Sounds AWESOME!!!!
Ooooh man?? I could not tell ya:( We have just been sent a few ebikes but we have a guy named Ebike Mike who I am sure would love your question!!
Thanks for the lab coat shout out!! Hahaha 😅😭
Hahaha You are the mad scientist around here😂👍.
Thanks for another update!
Yes sir, gotta love em:)
I own a 2021 27.5 Medium norco storm 2 and was wondering what would be the best option for upgrades on the fork, stem and bars?
Hey brother it is totally up to you and your style but here is what I rock on my GT, I love the fork and bar/stem setup+ 35mm really makes you feel the trails!! Have you ever tried tightening the clutch you can take off the cover and tighten down the little screw which tightens it, keV Central Has a video on it
Have not man, but heard it was easily accessible... thanks for the reminder:)
The new Mongoose ledge X2 was a little bit more pricier than the X1 but 29 inch quick release front and rear with the adjustable shock on the front the one by eight on the rear with 180 mm rotors front and rear but a new improved tire $498. If I remember right
And it's a cassette and not a freewheel so Wolfticking it will be a lot easier.
👍
"Tangy lemonade"? I need the proof;)
I love that you're hooked on e-bikes already Wolf. Can't wait to see what kind of e-bikes you guys build for yourselves.
😂😂 Totally LEMONADE!! LOL Now Wolfman is totally hooked on the E bike!!! But man are we excited about the builds coming up:) Thanks man
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Oh, I believe it's lemonade. I just wanted to know what proof hard lemonade;)
Some damn good lemonade:) Sticky Gringo style🤣😂😂
I don't know if you've noticed but the Ledge X1 frame has a kind of a enduro design and geometry. Lower seat tube and tighter frame tubing, more space between frame and front wheel and also slacker, especially compared to the XR Pro.
Man I love the Slack look, wanted to stay away from all that fancy techy stuff!! LOL TOTALLY SCIENTIFIC!!!
I’m debating too I was able to get a used Xr pro frame for 40 bucks this week but definitely like x1 I’m still try to see if either to build or just get a the new one
Man now there are Ledge X2's coming back in stock too!!!
My X1 fork doesn't squeak. Just ordered the X2. Mongoose IS back baby!
HELL YEAH!!! CONGRATS!
Nice:)
What would happen if you put a 27.5 on the rear of the XR pro and leave the 29er on the front? Would that help the head tube angle?
Sure would man, some people like the Mullet effect and we actually still need to try that:) IT would be interesting on a 29" as opposed to a 275 rear and a 26" front:) Thanks man
I did the mullet thing this week. Made climbing on the XR Pro a pain (27.5x2.6 rear and 29x2.4 front). Vs. same section on 29x2.4 front and 29x2.2 rear or 27.5x3 (too wide, rubbing the fender) and 27.5x2.6 rear where climbing went well and ran fast.
@Leesin TheD-well brother thank you for the write up:)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS no problem, I'm going to try 27.5x2.8 front and 27.5x2.6 rear this weekend if my front tire comes in.
@ Leesln TheD-👍 Good luck
You are absolutely right brother, we agree %100-the Xr pro if you plan on not upgrading and the LEDGE to Shred!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS for sure man cant wait to see what an absolute trail beast your x1 becomes
Um, guys I don't see a link to the shirts anywhere
It should be under the video, and on the endscreen of this video. Thanks man👍
Pivots on Ledge X1 are sealed bearings…Not bushings. Long term, that’s a win.
Wow, are the bushings upgreadable?? I think we had gotten a link from someone about that....
The uppers are bearings and lower one, the swing arm is a metal bushing.
X1 and XR bushings X2 has bearings, but bearings are only about $25 for a set.
I like 27.5 personally, was close to buying a Ledge even though I have no room for it!
Man we UNDERSTAND!!!
Maybe I'm just a dummy, but did you ever link the shirts??? Bc I would've gotten one already!
It should be right under the comments. Are you on a phone or computer?
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS usually mobile. I'll have to get on the laptop and check it out
It should be on the end screen as well as under the video, even on a mobile device.
After having both of mine now and having them both upgraded and on rides..... Ledge X1 for the Chicken Sendies guy! My big 3 things between the two 1. X1 just feels better for my body size 2. Tapered headtube 3. looks better (of course this one is 100% opinion lol)
and #3........??????
Love love today's video
Much Love Willard:)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS have you ever considered taking one in the bikes going down a big hill and jump into a pawn or a lake
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS or a launching into swimming pool with the bike
LOL NO:) Now why would I want to put a bike through that!!! LOL
Absolutely not... ha ha
Well have you outgrown the ability of the bike and have gotten down trail features or you just want another project??
That would be sweet, IT MAY BE TIME!! A lot funner of a build too;)
Tbh the new ledge x2 is a better competitor to the xr pro since its a 29er and cassete equipped. Also will you be getting the taff conp or ledge x2?
The ledge x2 is more expensive though because it is an upgrade and also a slightly larger bike compared to the x1
Man I think we are going to hold up on the bikes for now, it seems they are a little $$$$
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS also since the frames appear to be the exact same you could maybe try the x1 in a mullet setup!
Now that would be awesome!! We would lie to setup the XR Pro like that for sure:)
6:24 "that is that Mexican sh%$" lol
Glad you like it
JA JA JA LOVE IT!!!
I think we are going to try and keep it around the $1200 dollar mark including the bike. Thanks for the comment man👍
Also u need to do a budget aluminum wheel upgrade on the ledge x1 and that thing will be legit
Yeah man, I wonder how much we could shed off of her??
The ledge ×1 is freaking awesome!
Dude it is sweet! I love the geo:)
Ledge-X1
Not everyone has $$$ to up grade and it's better equipped so the ledge is better in that regard. It looks better as well...
Another fantastic episode
Stay frosty brother
Thanks for the in out POE! Appreciate the daydreaming knowledge as always. Will be staying FROSTY!! LOL
Wolftick - I checked both Ledge X1s we have and the rims are not steel.
Well it wouldn't surprise me if we got one with steel rims haha, When we get home we will take a better look without the tire on it. Thanks man👍
I finally got the Ledge X1 and took it out for a ride....Definitely wanna do some upgrades...wanna go the mullet route with it.
Ooh, you think that's smart with a full squish?? Seems like a lot of extra lost energy when not using lockout....Let us know!!
I own the X1. It fits me well. My big complaint is not having a 2nd opening on the right side top tube. Being a LH rear brake and RH front brake.
Thats is interesting, totally did not think of that being a hindrance..
Did you guys weigh the Ledge with the kickstand attached?
Here is an affiliate link:)ATB Wheelset + WTB Riddler Tires

That intro was fucking hilarious. I'm in agreement w Wolfman
That's what I'm talking about😎👍
X1 by far love the geometry, fat tires ,internal routing and most of all the color …ready to upgrade mine soon
Thanks man👍
Brandi spelled correctly is with a i! Thank you John! :)
😉😉😉 I always got you.
Agree with wolf on the dropper with it right under the seat and be done with it. Y'all should order one like that and do a review on it cause I know they make them and am curious how well it works
Man I wouldn't mind ding that:) Might just be a better alternative and a way cleaner look:) Most re budget but we have sen a few go for bug $$
I think the Axum's dropper was hard to work on because the cable housing was too short. I've done lots of droppers since and they're super easy
Real, I would like to install another. Another meaning completely different!! LOL We are looking forward to the install of one on the Ledge for sure:)
Awesome comparison! Very informative and entertaining! Thank You from me and my Channel!⭐️👍
Wow thanks man!👍
If I was in the market for a budget build, the Ledge X1. Tapered head tube means better fork options, 1x drive train, and 27.5 (I am a bit biased on wheel size because I have a plus hardtail)
Completely see were you are coming form John, hey new channel icon?? ASCENSION??
18kg the x1 damn, i didn't realise how bad it was stock !! also i think the taper making the ledge more expensive to upgrade isn't really true as you can run a headset for straight steerer forks. as a whole package the xr pro is pretty competitive (better fork, derailleur, wheelset) but the x1 frame is much better (so i'd go the ledge any day, and pimp it to the max !)
We aren't huge on that adapter so it wasn't considered on this one. We pretty much agree with everything else you said👍👍.
Lose 3 pounds by changing the fork.
"Take rocks." lol 🤣 XR Pro looks nice. Excellent comparison. Both of you make great points!!!
Thank you so much AL, very funny you two old guys are digging the XR PRO!! LOL Thanks man #SCIENTIFIC
Man should of dont that tonight! We just installed a new DNM shock on the XR PRO- we will see if we can measure the ledge for ya;)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Sweet, thanks! If it's not 90mm, I'm keeping the XR Pro and beating the hell out of it. 😂
🤣🤣🤣 Same exact rear shock!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS you mean the actual shock itself? 165x38?
@Airhog Glider hahaha man Jeremiah don't know what you are talking about. He don't realize that you are calculating the travel. We are not that kind of channel and he hates math🤣. I try to get him to learn these things and he is not having it. Sorry man😆.
How much is the new shirt for an extra large
Checkout the link/pics at the bottom of the page brother. Like $25
The XR is legendary, when the bike came out 10 years ago it was just about the only double suspension 29er under $3,000. 10 years later they're still relevant that says a lot. And the X1 I have to call it like I see it, it's a really nice $290 frame, with $10 worth of components. A ton of potential, but a long expensive journey to get there. Bang for the buck I think you'd be better off with the Mongoose Salvo if you could get your hands on one.
Man such a good write up, now Salvo?? Need to look that up for sure!! Thanks brother
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I think the base model was about 1100 when it first came out, but you're going to spend at least that once you start getting into it.
Wow....I would like to own a GT Pantera
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I'm on the fence with those name brand e-bikes. They're too worried about the legality, and not worried enough about giving the customer what they want. The e-bike you already own is putting out minimal double the power.

Loved all the chicken noise at the start 👍the pro has some good bits on it but the X 1 looks nice this is a hard one but the pro for me👍
PACOCK!! Really the Pro huh?? Thats great WOLFMANS gotta buddy to team up with me now LOL
ABZS-

Not sure how it will hold up over time but thanks and here is the video:

Not yet man....But very EXCITED for ya!!!! Let us know!!
Gotta love the partial Internal routing on the ledge , but you can get a 9s threaded freewheel to get better gearing to keep it super budget in first year, but pay 100 more and get cassette for the X2 just out on Walmart's website! exact same frame with 29ers instead.
Def could....ow which do you do??? AND NO BAFANG MOTORS!!
Man and the AXUM sure was TRICKY!! LOL

HA HA We feel ya man! Hope you can get it and not a notice saying it was out of STOCK!! BTW Thank you for sending us the email man, way to loo out SLOTH!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I got the X2 yesterday. You're welcome for the email.
DUDE!! CONGRATS!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Thanks brother! Looking forward to building this up Wolftick style!
👍👍 Working on the XR PRO tonight!👍 Cannot wait to see the Ledge X2 in action man!!
XR Pro is back and the X1 is sold out, but they both went up in price, XR Pro is now $498 but back in stock. Ledge X2 looks really sweet, putting my XR pro up for sale to get one. same price as the XR
Damn!! Hopefully you can get it sold, good luck but remember you will be buying a freewheel!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Nope, the X2 is a cassette.
Wolfman in the flipflops though 🤙
LOL Did you like that!! HA H He pefers them!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS haha love it... Hard core as fuck 🤙
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I noticed your hat, did you work the rigs?
😂😂🤣🤣
Next up on the GT line up! Same frame as the Ledge! Lol.
👍👍👍
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS oh hell no! I didn't want that tank as my next GT! But the new GT Force carbon is out now after being test ridden in Italy at the World Cup races that just ended. 5grand USD just for the frame! But! I did start drooling over the Rockshox PIKE front fork that comes stock with the bike. Lol
WOW that is crazy expensive man!! But that bike is sweet as hell! Was just looking at the pics today, funny. So you gonna go for it!! LOL
I'm not thinking I'm going for it. When you drive a car that is worth less than your bike. Lol. Nah. But I'm still looking for a carbon frame. One if these times i should weigh my verb sport. It feels lighter. New XT Wheelset is on the way! Should be good i hope???
HA HA hope so!! Now checkout trifoxbike-they just emailed us about some frames?? Carbon and they seem t have all the specs too:)
LOL
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS LOL Wolftick would be a nice name for a bike. But yeah, the differences between the 2 are exactly why I can't choose between the 2.
Hope one day can get a Ledge x1😁
Man I would love to see you race them!!!
I hope the ledge comes back, such a sweet bike for the price
Will the ledge x1 or x2 ever be available again?
🤷♂️Man, we hope so.👍
Please review Wolftick video , there is a new 27.5 in suspension fork from amazon its called “felice rc pro” model fork. Im looking for fusion rc32 vs this felice rc pro dual air suspension. Please help me to decide , Thank you and more power to the Channel! Shout out to Tander Braders xc riders from Toronto, Canada!
Man we will look into the fork, if you find a link to it on AMAZON or Ebay, please let us know:) Thank you

👍 Ask and you shall receive I guess!! LOL Thanks for that and man, and DUDE! That looks just like a BUCKLOS!
I agree with everything you said. But you already know why I returned my XR Pro... geometry
Def do man:)
If you're looking to build a trail bike or electric mountain bike then the Ledge, If you're looking for one bike that can do everything well, l then the XR Pro, it's more of a hybrid, it's surprisingly fast on the flats, but with the write components very capable on the trails.
😄 there is Brandie also
LOL Brandie!!! Thank you so much for the coffees and it really needs to be spelled with a y!!! Thanks for being a great sport and being here😂😂😂👍
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS you'd have to take that up with my mom, and that's an argument you won't win!! Haha
Yeah thats not gonna happen:) I get enough in with WOLFMAN🤣🤣 So i guess I will give the "i" a pass......for now;)
They very quickly released The ledge X2 with quick release front and rear, 29er and free hub. Granted it’s $100 more but fixes a lot of the things wrong with the X1.
What would you go with?? Given they were both available and ready for purchase by you??
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I just watched a review from another UA-camr that you are familiar with that said both frames are identical specs so the X1 could be upgraded to a 29er. He compared the frame specs by side by side. The things different were based around the fork specifically. Sounds like you could go that route if you wanted.
Really, that is interesting. I think we will keep it at a 27.5 but man, that is interesting, I do like me a smaller 29"!! LOL
Geometry is King!!! Ledge X1 all the way fellas. Have a great weekend #wolfticknation!
Hahaha yeah it is nice. Thanks man! Have a great weekend yourself man👍
First one here! Quit arguing like family!
🏆🏆 🏆Thank you for being here!!
That Ledge X1 looks great, to bad it seems to be missing some great parts.
Man it really does look good:) Def is missing some parts!!! LOL
I would get the mongoose and swap the fork with a Marzocchi bomber z1, the crank ixf, wheels NS enigma hoops, Shimano diore drive train including rear hub.
🤣🤣 The mongoose huh?? LOL But i feel ya man, I would love to ride a setup like that!!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yeah the mongoose. It has more options and the rear suspension looks like it rides better.
For sure, the overall feel on that thing is nuts! In a good way of course
I like the ledge
Thanks man, It means alot coming from a non budget man like you😜😜
Kick Rocks! lol Il take tapered all day bc for me its hard to get parts for bikes bc nothing is available but its easier to get a tapered fork locally.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yeah im very artsy lol also have a miner in fine arts lol
Man one of these days you have to get yourself a trek Roscoe secondhand off offer up or something. You say you like the plus tires that bike is a dream. I just got a 2021 Roscoe 7 for $600 on offer up which puts it right around the top end of the bikes you get now
WOW!! Now that is a freaking steal man!! Would love to catch a deal like that! Let su know if you got another one like that!!! HA HA
Sorry pops, gotta agree with Jeremiah on this. From the video If he's take a wide turn and pointing right, you were suppose to go to the right in front of him. I do the same thing to my kid lol
Hahaha yeah but is your kid supposed to be guiding you?😂
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS if im getting video of him on the bike, then yes I need and want him up front
@javier guerrero haha well just so you know Jeremiah was supposed to be leading me because he knows the trails😂. All of that, he wanted to get footage of me was total 🐴💩.🤣 Thanks man👍
Xr all the way. 29er to me is the best. Hahahah he said go kick rocks!!!!! Get it cuz
😂😂🤣 NICE:)
